Wasn’t going to do a review, just going to start taking my pets somewhere else but I’ve heard other negative experiences so I wanted to post mine from February.TLDR: they will waste your time & don’t show any care for your pets.My cat was having issues urinating in the house. I scheduled an appointment for her in the afternoon. I got a call from Banfield asking if I could bring her in early at 8 am rather than my 3:30 appointment time and they would monitor her and do the urinalysis. I asked when dropping her off if I should still plan to come at 3:30. Was told they would call me to let me know. I didn’t hear anything so I called around 2:45 - was on hold for over 20 minutes. They told me not to come in and they would call back in 15-20 minutes. An hour passed and I heard nothing. I called again and the person who answered had no idea what was going on said she would check with the care team. She did call back and say my cat wasn’t ready yet.I get a call at 5:30 that I can come in and get my cat. Got there and waited another 15 minutes to be seen. They asked me if they could do a urinalysis which I had already agreed to when I dropped my cat off. So my cat was there for over 9 hours and they had not looked at her or done anything to help her. The vet that I saw seemed confused and did not explain anything to me, just wanted to run more tests to the tune of $500. I mentioned that my cat had been there for hours for no reason and she laughed and said they were busy.I was not impressed by the vet, any of the vet techs, or the front desk staff I spoke with. No level of professionalism, disorganized, and brushed off any concern. I started taking my pets elsewhere and tell everyone I can to never bring their pets to this location.

I liked the pet wellness plan option that allowed for monthly payments towards bi-annual check ups. The last few months were not great. As my dog struggled with kidney disease, I felt that the vets did everything they could to help my dog. The problem was that it was very difficult to communicate with the vets. As we made the heartbreaking decision to euthanize our dog, we decided to use Lap of Love to come to our house as we felt that would be less traumatic for the dog. While making this decision, we tried to communicate multiple times with Banfield and did not get a response. Our dog was cremated, and his remains were sent to Banfield for us to pick up. When doing so, it felt like I was picking up a package. Not a single employee even said, "sorry for your loss" or even acknowledged the fact that we lost our beloved pup. Lap of Love sent a card and a follow up email while Banfield did absolutely nothing. It was a cold end to what ultimately felt like a transactional relationship. Perhaps there are too many individuals working at different times to provide some human care, or perhaps it's corporate policy not to say sorry for your loss. Either way, we will likely look elsewhere for a vet for our next dog.

Our 8 AM appointment was delayed an hour because the clinic wasn’t opened on time. The vet handled my fearful dog poorly: approaching without introduction, scaring her twice, and disregarding her body language. He also insisted she needed vaccines despite her being fully up to date and refused to open the records I had already sent.Afterward, I looked into the vet’s background and learned he previously worked in animal medical device testing, not clinical veterinary practice. That might explain the lack of bedside manner and sensitivity to behavioral cues. While he may be qualified technically, he clearly lacked the communication skills and patient-centered care my dog needs. We’ll continue at this clinic, but will only book with other vets moving forward.
Jul 20, 2025 · Alyssa SMy dog Scout has received the most amazing care from Angela Davis, DVM at the Banfield Hospital located on Larpenteur Avenue. Dr. Davis is new to the clinic and what a GREAT addition she makes. She is so thorough, caring and skilled.Scout has been battling a UTI and she had two large cysts on her right foot which Dr. Davis surgically removed. Dr. Davis has seen Scout several times, always helping when issues arise. Scout did not tolerate her first antibiotic and so Dr. Davis tried a new one. She tolerated the new antibiotic but was still not interested in eating. Dr. Davis prescribed an appetite stimulant and anti-nausea medication. Dr. Davis also recommended a probiotic and other supplements to support Scout's liver.In addition to being an excellent diagnostician and problem solver, Dr. Davis is a skilled surgeon. Scout had two cysts on her right foot, one of which was approaching golf-ball size. Dr. Davis removed the cysts and stitched the foot up. The stitches are clean and holding, even though they are in a spot that has to bear some weight. Dr. Davis also checks Scout's stitches, changing her bandage every couple of days.The most astonishing thing about Dr. Davis is how she is able to convey to Scout that she cares for her. I used to have to drag Scout into the vet. Now she has seen Dr. Davis several times for some unpleasant prodding, poking and surgery. Nevertheless. Scout knows somehow that Dr. Davis cares about her. She willingly walks into the clinic and is even happy to see Dr. Davis. This is a very special gift that Dr. Davis has.Scout is a large dog who will be 13 in a few days. I know that she is more fragile than a younger dog. Nevertheless, I completely trust everything Dr. Davis does and recommends. I am very grateful that we found her!I can't say enough good things about Dr. Davis. If you are looking for a new vet, I would try to see her before her patient load is too high.

Due to traffic and not knowing the area at all, I was running late and called them to give them a heads up and the receptionist said as long as I get there by 3:40, I can be seen. I get there at 3:38 while both receptionists have me stand there, one helping someone about dog food, and the other on the phone. I wait to be noticed for minutes now knowing my dogs health is in the hands of time at this point. The girl finally gets off the phone, calls the doctor, and then tells me they can no longer see me and I’ll have to reschedule for another day, days from now. I’m beyond upset. I was 8 minutes late. With a phone call letting them know. This is how you treat sick animals? Disgusting
