Banfield Pet Hospital Introduce
For pet owners in North Richland Hills and the wider Texas community, finding a veterinary hospital that provides reliable, consistent care for their furry family members is a top priority. Banfield Pet Hospital, located on North Tarrant Parkway, is a well-known name in the area, offering a range of services from routine check-ups to managing more urgent health concerns. This article is designed to provide a clear and engaging overview of what local residents can expect from this particular clinic, offering insights into its services, accessibility, and the experiences of other pet owners. It is crucial for locals to have a balanced perspective, considering both the positive aspects and the potential challenges, to make the best decision for their pet's health.
The hospital's reputation is built on its ability to provide a variety of services, often structured around their popular wellness plans. For many clients, this model offers a predictable and managed approach to pet health, which can be a significant benefit. Positive experiences often highlight the team’s friendly and compassionate nature. For example, one client shared a deeply emotional experience when their dog, Misty, suddenly became blind. The staff, including a vet tech named Becky, was described as "amazing" and "very comforting" during this difficult time. This kind of empathetic support during a pet emergency is invaluable and speaks volumes about the dedication of some of the staff members. The ability to promptly make an appointment and receive a call back with a diagnosis shortly after leaving showcases a level of efficiency that is a major plus for many pet owners.
However, it is also important to acknowledge that not all experiences are consistent. A different customer, who had been a long-time patron of the clinic, detailed a recent "awful experience" that highlighted a significant change in staff. This particular incident brought to light concerns about a lack of continuity of care, as well as a perceived lack of knowledge and professionalism from the new team. The customer was deeply troubled when a new vet and staff member did not seem to be familiar with a common flea, tick, and heartworm preventative medication, which led to their dog being diagnosed with a tick-borne disease. This experience points to the importance of having a vet who is not only knowledgeable but also provides clear and proactive communication about medication and preventive care.
The customer's review also raised issues about the clinic’s processes, including a significant wait time to pay and being told about missed procedures (fecal and parasite prevention) only after they had already left the clinic. These operational issues, combined with a staff member's insensitive remark about documenting the client's reaction on their pet's profile, illustrate the potential for a disconnect in communication and service. For a pet owner who values personalized care and trust, these incidents can be very distressing, particularly when a pet has an anxious temperament and requires a high level of patient and understanding handling.

Banfield Pet Hospital Reviews
Unfortunately I have to write a review because today was an awful experience. We have been coming to Banfield for many years and had no issues. The staff was always friendly, they were able to do treatments with no issue and we usually saw similar faces so we realized our baby was getting the most personalized care. Today we come for a regular annual check up and it’s completely new staff. We go through the routine as usual and are then told our dog has a tick blood disease. Come to find out the medication we were using never prevented for ticks only flea and heart worm which we were never informed of from our past vet who had prescribed this med and from Banfield themselves who we have repeatedly told year after year when doing annual check ups. When we asked why we weren’t told before hand they proceeded to inform us that they had no idea what the medication we used did. It is a common brand called Sentinel, so for them to not know and only know the specific medication they sell is very careless and unprofessional. I’ve never gone to a doctor and been told well I have no idea what that medication does or consists of because we don’t sell it here. We then proceeded to wait an hour to pay and they weren’t able to find our info for carenow card payment. When we informed staff we were very concerned and disappointed with the lack of treatment the staff member apologized and didn’t give any further assistance. Afterwards as I was leaving I heard one staff say remember to write down this incident with their reaction on their profile. I went to go pick up medication and then was informed they didn’t do any of the check up they were supposed to do in the back. They didn’t get fecal, or the parasite prevention. I was told this after I had already left the first time when I was done with the visit. I was not told by the vet or assistant while we were at the check up itself getting ready to leave. Our dog gets very anxious so she is very difficult to hold but this place has never had an issue. They see dogs with all temperaments so it should not be an issue to do simple tasks like take fecal and give parasite prevention. This has been one of the worst experiences we’ve had here and it makes me sad because I need a vet I can truly trust no matter what. This is a living breathing animal who deserves even better care then what humans get because they can’t speak and tell their issues. When you go to vets you want care and help from staff. Always knowing that they are there to support you through anything your baby might need but unfortunately we did not get the service that we needed today especially when finding out bad news. Truly hope who ever reads this understands the place they are going to. I give two stars because this is the FIRST experience we’ve had that was bad and I believe it was because of the change of staff.
Jul 17, 2025 · Ada IcduyguGreat place to go. Just wish it wasn't a emergency. Misty was walking into walls and her eyes was closed. I made the earliest appointment possible to get her in. I was greeted by a very friendly girl with a pleasant "Hello, may I help you?" Being distracted because of my poor dog that appeared to be blind, she was very patient with trying to get Misty on the scale. We were taken promptly to a room for a tech to come in and figure out what's going on. Same thing happened a few years ago. Becky was gentle and was very supportive to misty and I. I left her there so the doctor could examine misty to figure out what was the problem. Shortly after getting back home I recieved a call. Went back to there and the Doctor (hard of hearing) told me what he thought. Misty and I went back home. Poor Misty is completely blind. The staff was amazing and was very comforting during this time. Thank you Banfield, we will see you again for our yearly.
Apr 29, 2024 · Jimbo LesjakNice facilities, the nurse and doctor we saw were incredibly attentive and sensitive about our cat's condition. Excellent bedside manner, I feel like they really care and aren't just all business. They really worked with us and I appreciate them endlessly!!
Apr 02, 2025 · Katie KimUpsetting experience!!! July 2025; a new team who are afraid of dogs! New lady in reception who has no idea about medications, care, required tests etc! If you are not up to this work, please do not work!! Team of amateurs are not what I want for my senior dog! I will find another location who cares!
Jul 17, 2025 · can iOur sweet golden retriever, Stella, had a bad cough. They squeezed us in the schedule on a Saturday after our regular Banfield was booked up. Dr George, the front desk administrator, and vet tech were all incredibly helpful and loving to our pup! Dr George spent quality time with us learning about Stella's history so he could provide us the correct medication. They went above and beyond to provide quality and comforting service!!!
