Choosing a veterinary care provider is a deeply personal decision, and Banfield Pet Hospital on Tatum Blvd offers many reasons why it's a solid choice for Phoenix residents. The primary reason worth choosing this location is its commitment to comprehensive, ongoing care. As one long-term customer noted, the team, including specific doctors and staff members, provides "the best care" and "love and care for our puppies as much as we do." This level of personal connection and compassion is invaluable, especially for pets with significant or long-term health issues.
However, it's also important to consider the varying experiences some customers have had. As one review points out, the experience can sometimes be "hit or miss," particularly for pets with behavioral problems like anxiety. This can be a significant factor for owners whose pets require a consistent approach and staff who are already familiar with their pet's specific medical and behavioral history. The review mentions that a change in team members can sometimes require re-explaining a pet's entire medical history, which can be frustrating.
Despite these inconsistencies, for many pets and owners, Banfield provides a reliable, full-service option for general pet care and a range of other services. The professional and friendly staff, combined with a comprehensive service list and accessible location, make it a worthy consideration for those in the Phoenix area looking for a one-stop solution for their pet's health needs. For pets that are generally well-adjusted and do not have significant behavioral issues, this Banfield location offers a strong and dependable foundation for their healthcare.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We have had the best care from Dr. Bikson, Dr. Lee, Bobby and the staff! We have had 4 of our fur babies with them all of which had significant issues as they got older. They love and care for our puppies as much as we do. We appreciate all they have done for us!
July 10 · T CooperOur experience with this Banfield is very 'hit or miss,' at times. Sometimes the staff is very nice and understanding of my pet with behavioral problems and other times its a whole other set of team members where I have to redescribe my entire pet's medical history with them. In the beginning, it was fine but now I'm really just considering terminating my wellness plan with them. My most recent vet visit was far from a good one, if not the worst experience I've had so far. I won't go into depth but I am currently looking into other vet clinics that can respect my pet's boundaries and accommodate his behavioral struggles. Decent team if your pet doesn't suffer from anxiety or other issues.
March 12 · Silvia AguayoI can’t say enough good things about Banfield at Tatum and Shea. From the moment we walk in, we are greeted with warmth and professionalism. The staff is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the well-being of animals. They took the time to answer all of my questions and made sure our pups feel comfortable and cared for. They take pride in providing a personalized experience whenever our pups have needed special treatment, I always receive a courtesy to check in and ensure everything is going well at home.Lastly, I can’t thank the doctors enough for their incredible dedication and compassion for our fur babies. Before one of our pups passed away, they were there for us for some final treatments where they balanced quality of life and a realistic treatment plan. I’m so grateful for their care and tact every step of the way. I’ll have a hard time going anywhere else!
December 07 · Rod MonteverdeBanfield is going to charge me $80/month for the remainder of the year. My dog just DIED. How is this legal?! It's hidden somewhere in the fine print. DO NOT USE PETSMART BANFIELD!!!!!
