Choosing the right veterinarian is a critical decision, and a closer look at GoodVets Paradise Valley reveals a practice with both a clear mission and a commitment to high standards. What makes them a compelling choice for pet owners in Arizona is the exceptional level of personal and compassionate care they provide in critical situations. The story of Percy is a powerful testament to their dedication; the team not only diagnosed a serious issue but actively worked to find an outside solution when they couldn’t provide the necessary surgery themselves. The personal follow-up calls from Dr. Charlton further underscore a level of care that goes far beyond a typical business transaction. This kind of empathy and proactive problem-solving builds a deep sense of trust.
While one review expresses a deeply concerning and tragic experience, highlighting a communication breakdown and a perceived lack of urgency, it is important to consider the broader context of the practice. GoodVets has a stated commitment to client education, transparent pricing, and making care accessible through wellness plans and credit options, which are noted in other positive feedback. The conflicting accounts show the importance of communication in veterinary medicine, particularly in urgent or senior-care situations. However, the positive review of the team's extraordinary effort to save a pet's life, and their personal follow-up, provides a strong counterpoint. For a pet owner in the Phoenix area, GoodVets Paradise Valley offers a modern, comprehensive facility with a team that has a proven capacity for going above and beyond in moments of crisis. Their commitment to accessibility and client education, along with their wide range of services, makes them a significant and often highly-regarded option for veterinary care.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Dr. Charlton, Dr. Kile, and the entire office were amazing! We rushed our pug named Percy early on Friday. They made room to fit him in as he was not eating or drinking water. They did blood work and an x-ray, but could not find anything. Dr. Charlton called me personally and helped us every step of the way. They did an ultra sound and found a kids toy stuck in his stomach. They did not have any availability that day to do the surgery, but they called around for us as I was not having luck finding a place that could take him in last minute. Dr. Kile was able to find an office. They even sent over the results of the ultra sound so that the Dr. knew exactly where the toy was stuck. Dr. Charlton even followed up with me personally along the way to check in on Percy. Highly recommend GoodVets. Without Dr. Charlton and Dr. Kile Percy would not have made it. Thank you Team!
March 17 · Daniel AhluwaliaDO NOT RECOMMEND!!! I brought my senior Yorkie here and they showed a complete lack of sense of urgency and criticalness for my dog’s care!! My dog had pale/whitish gums when she arrived to see Dr Kile which I found out later is an EMERGENCY and can be fatal. Veterinarians have a professional and ethical duty to provide prompt and appropriate care to animals in distress, especially when signs of serious illness are present and they failed to do this. The vet tech and Dr Kile said they would put together a plan and come back in the room with estimate of what needed to be done. The estimate was approx $775 to include bloodwork, SDMA test, urinalysis, red light therapy(to help my dogs IVDD) and pain medication. They should have said the bloodwork was the most important to get right away because of her pale gums and that they had payment options such as Care Credit or their wellness plan. At no point was a wellness plan offered to me which is on their website where I could make monthly payments like the previous reviewer mentioned they discussed with her when cost was an issue. I said let’s start with the SDMA and urinalysis which would cost about $230 together. Well her SDMA result was very high and Dr Kile talked to me about her quality of life at that point. Right then I said can you run her result by Dr Charlton is she here? He said she was already in the back when he brought my dog back and that she agrees my dog doesn’t look good. Well you would think Dr Charlton would come back in the room with Dr Kile if she saw my dog had white/pale gums and high test result and it was clear it was a critical situation? So from there Dr Kile says we can’t get a urinalysis on her now there is not enough urine in her bladder so just make another appt to come back. Something just did not feel right about my visit when I left so I called the office back asking Kelly the Office Manager to have Dr. Charlton call me back as soon as possible I really wanted to speak with her regarding the results of my dogs test/visit that day since she is the Medical Director. Well I NEVER got a call back that day or the next day from her. Kelly the Office Manager just emailed me what the SDMA levels mean. That’s not acceptable at all! As a previous review stated Kelly is not a veterinarian and should not be acting as a veterinarian she should have said I’ll make sure Dr Charlton calls you back. Well unfortunately my Yorkie passed away 36 hours later😓.They should have referred me immediately to an Emergency vet or Critical Care Specialist when she arrived with pale gums!! Her vitals were still good at the time and her temp was normal. She was still eating her food at home and I was able to care for her. When Dr Charlton returned my call 3 days later she said “I have up to 16 appts a day I can’t return calls all the time” and then I said Dr Kile said you saw her test result and how she looked that morning he brought her back in the back room and Dr Charlton replied “Honestly I don’t even remember seeing her.” I was completely taken back by that. I said why didn’t you just come back in the room to speak to me with Dr Kile and she said “Two doctors do not need to be in the room at once.” That was not a compassionate response when I had just lost my dog!! Apparently they don’t work as a team in a critical situation where there is an emergency. Dr Charlton also made the remark “Owners try to find others to blame when they lose their pets.” So if you have a senior dog or a sick dog for that matter I would strongly encourage you to take your beloved pet elsewhere. It was so disheartening the entire experience with this place and when I found out after the fact they offer a wellness plan and take Care Credit and did not even bring that up to me that made me feel even worse! I am heartbroken that this place did not act quickly and if they could not provide the necessary care immediately they should have shown a sense of urgency to get her in the hands of a place that could! They just did not care enough in a critical situation and were clearly negligent!
March 16 · CCEveryone was so nice & welcoming! They are very upfront about any costs & let you know exactly what they are doing along the way! Cost was a concern with me, which is what kept me from getting my dog’s teeth extracted, with the wellness plan it was exactly the help I needed! The monthly payments are convenient & come with so many benefits, totally worth it! They were more than happy to compare pricing with & without the wellness plan! So excited we found our new home vet! It was also super easy to make an appointment, I was able to book @ 3 pm for a 4 pm appointment the same day! Also the first visit was free, what a deal! So happy!!
February 17 · LaCrisha PraegerI was able to call and book an appointment day-of with ease (a true rarity in this field, it seems). Front desk/reception was welcoming and accommodating. Dr. Charlton and her vet tech took excellent care of my cat. Dr. Charlton was attentive to my every question regarding my cat's health and aftercare, as well as taking the time to call me personally to go over the imaging and test results following the appointment. The medication she prescribed began to resolve my cat's issue almost immediately, and his condition continues to improve. Easily the best veterinarian and most positive veterinary experience I have seen or had.
May 11 · Daniel SMy dog, my boy, my Life, is turning 8yrs old soon. It's been on my mind and weighing on my heart. He has to stay healthy, without him, there's no me.I called around, looked online, I wanted a good, respectable, clean office, with a Dr. that would take great care of my Aina. I have money, I'm not rich but enough.I picked Paradise Valley GoodVets. I called and got an appt. the very next morning. Everything I've written here, I got.Plus, the staff, starting with the sweet, helpful front counter girl. Then my nurse, who made me and Aina feel welcomed and got the ball rolling (I hate that I can't remember their names. I'm sorry)Then lastly, Dr. Kile came in, we had a little chat, then took Aina away. As quick as they left, they returned. My Ainaboy is happy, healthy and that is all that matters. I too, am happy, and very grateful.Thank you All very much! MahaloGiAnn and Ainaboyps.a bonus, that has zero to do with Vetinary services. just an opinion of one old lady ..Dr Kile, not just one cool cat, but smokin' hot 🤤
