Banfield Pet Hospital Introduce
For pet owners across Omaha and the greater Nebraska area, ensuring consistent, high-quality veterinary care is a top priority. Banfield Pet Hospital, located conveniently on Oak View Drive, serves as a comprehensive animal hospital offering a wide range of services focused on supporting the health and happiness of dogs and cats through every life stage. The hospital’s philosophy centers on a preventive-first approach, recognizing that regular check-ups, timely vaccinations, and proactive diagnostics are the cornerstones of a long and healthy life for your beloved companion.
Banfield Pet Hospital is committed to making quality pet care accessible. They offer a variety of services, ranging from routine preventive maintenance—such as vaccinations and parasite control—to more advanced procedures, including general surgery and imaging. The professional team, which includes dedicated veterinarians and veterinary technicians, works to provide personalized care and individual treatment plans. Customers often highlight the friendly and kind demeanor of the staff, noting the effort put into making pets, especially those who are nervous, feel safe and cared for during their visits.
A key feature of the Banfield model is their **Optimum Wellness Plans® (OWP)**. These are yearly packages of preventive care services designed to be both easier to manage and more affordable than paying for services a la carte. The plans are tailored to different dogs and cats based on their age and health needs, typically bundling essential services like comprehensive wellness exams, vaccinations, and sometimes even routine dental cleanings or early detection bloodwork. This structured approach to preventive care helps pet owners budget for their pet’s annual needs and ensures that necessary check-ups are consistently maintained, supporting the pet's overall health and allowing for early detection of potential issues.
The Omaha location prides itself on a welcoming atmosphere, even utilizing small, thoughtful gestures like a welcome board displaying the names of the day’s scheduled patients—a detail that local pet parents find particularly sweet and engaging. While a system this large requires appointments to ensure smooth operations, the staff works diligently to manage the flow of care. For pet owners in the Omaha Metro area seeking a dedicated provider of routine, preventive, and non-emergency medical services, Banfield Pet Hospital offers a consistent and comprehensive option.
The Banfield Pet Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, is strategically located for maximum convenience, specifically situated inside the local PetSmart store near the Oak View Mall. This location makes combining pet supply shopping with veterinary appointments straightforward for busy Nebraska residents.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- I made my appointment online and there was a mix up with scheduling that’s the only reason it’s not a 5 star. Otherwise, check-in was smooth with an intern who was very friendly. We saw the Dr. unfortunately they weren’t able to help with my dogs heart murmur other than refer me to a cardiologist but the vet made several recommendations and Carla the tech was very pleasant. They have a welcome board with all the pets names which is such a sweet touch! - Dr, Molly Clark and Jen were great with my scared cat during his check up. They took care of him and were very kind. Enjoyed working with them both! February 27 · Amanda Schraut
- I can’t say enough good things about the care my pitbull and I received from Orlando, Miranda, Anna, and Dr. Smith. From start to finish, they made sure we both felt comfortable and left happy. While my initial quote was higher than expected, they went above and beyond to help me find a more affordable plan that also reduced the cost of care for my older dog.Their kindness, patience, and genuine willingness to work with me showed just how much they care—not just about pets, but about the people who love them. I’ve been a Banfield customer for nearly 10 years, and this visit truly reminded me why. Exceptional service, compassionate care, and a team that treats you like family. Thank you for everything! - I have been taking my kitties to Dr. Clark since they were 9 weeks old. The payment plans they offer are a lifesaver! The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. I couldn't imagine trusting my babies to anyone else. October 15 · KM Branco
- My dog went here last Friday . Thankfully they were able to get us in as our original vet appointment elsewhere got canceled same day. So that was good. However her weight was not correct my dog is not 67 pounds I weighed her at her vet this weekend and she was not 67 pounds. When I put her on the scale I was still holding her down with my own weight . So clearly not correct. The front desk lady was super nice I loved her. She was great . As for the time with the “vet” it felt rushed not gonna lie . Just felt rushed. They did not look in my dogs mouth or at her teeth. But on her discharge paperwork says her teeth are not healthy. Which is not true. Her original vet had said many times to us that her teeth are great considering her age. My dog came in with a double yeast infection in her ears and infection. My dog was clearly scared to be there and while they were trying to look in her ears and gather a sample from each ear . The vet didn’t offer treats to get her to feel comfortable or anything. Which is sad to see as we use the base vet and pet is vet and they use treats to build trust. This was a hold the dog situation so we can get this over and done with situation. My dog also did not get a full routine checkup so keep that in mind. I paid $211.00 for ear drops and a few days worth of a steroid . And that was it . The base and petco vets are cheaper than that and will always do a full checkup . Regardless felt rushed . Took forever to try and check out cause atleast 5 new clients were coming in and they have to check them in and get weight on them all. My dog was upset her ears hurt I was trying to avoid her making contact with other dogs as she wasn’t feeling well which meant she was moody with others. And I literally had to hide with my dog by the doors to the exam rooms because it was the only spot free of others. Till the nurse came out and saw the situation and checked me out . And was helping me hold my dog while I was trying to pay and check out and leave . December 31 · Kay Triston
