★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We have been going to this Banfield location for 15 years, and have always encountered outstanding staff and service.Over the years, they have cared for 6 of our cats and our dog, and we have always been so appreciative of the exceptional competence, care, compassion and attention they have provided to us, and most importantly, to our various animal companions.I am aware that corporate operations like Banfield often have a bad reputation in contrast to private vet clinics. I can’t speak to that overall, but for Banfield Park Meadows, that has not been our experience. We had many private vets prior, and while most were excellent, this Banfield hospital has met or exceeded any other vets we have had. Moreover, they have never tried to upsell us on expensive medications or procedures. Instead, they carefully explain the pros & cons of various options, and have always been sensitive to our financial limitations. In particular, over the past year or two, we have received extraordinary care from vet Drs. Framson, Hipskind, Hunt, and Monahan. They have all been extremely kind, attentive, knowledgeable, highly competent and patient with us neurotic pet parents. In addition, headed by their brilliant practice manager Marilyn -- who is unfailingly cheerful and calm in the midst of keeping all the patients & staff on track with humor, grace, and insight -- the techs & staff that we have been so impressed with include Faith, Jessica, Matt, Alden, Morgan and Rachel. This Banfield is our companion animal home, and has provided great peace of mind for our pet care needs.
March 22 · Forever LiveMy dog was staying here, all though my experience was good. They double charged my card. I was splitting between two different cards, the first payment I did was the full amount and the front desk lady didn't realize and said that wouldn't go through after she realized it. But it did. Then I paid all over again after all of that by splitting it. I had notified everyone, the front desk and billing my bank account had told me it would take 15 days to come back and it has not. I am a little frustrated because it over-drafted my credit card. And it feels like no one can help me. I just don't want to be double charged for something, and it has not been fixed ever since. it's been very frustrating.
May 19 · Hailey SextonThe staff was very kind and my dog loved them and wasn't nervous at all even though she always is! I really like the front desk woman and the vet! Fast and efficient service! The place was clean and inviting! I had a very good experience there!
April 09 · Elise LoringChase wags his tale at his vet appts. He is very happy when we are there. The staff clearly cares about the patients. Chase's reaction tells me all I need to know.
August 13 · Victoria StavishSerious Concerns Regarding Dr. Grace Hipskind’s Veterinary CareI had a deeply troubling experience with Dr. Grace Hipskind at Banfield Pet Hospital – Denver SE (Park Meadows Center) on February 19, 2025. My dog was experiencing severe upper respiratory symptoms, yet Dr. Hipskin demonstrated poor clinical judgment, misrepresented medications, and dismissed my concerns regarding proper treatment and pain management.Premature Recommendation of Unnecessary Testing – Before conducting a full clinical exam, Dr. Hipskind immediately pushed for $400 in radiographs, despite my primary concern being an upper respiratory infection. Only after I declined did she perform auscultation, which confirmed clear lung sounds—making the initial recommendation unnecessary.Misrepresentation of Prescribed Medication – Dr. Hipskind prescribed "Cough Tabs" (containing dextromethorphan and guaifenesin) and falsely claimed they included a low-dose corticosteroid to reduce tracheal inflammation. When questioned about the ingredients, she initially could not provide an answer and later contradicted herself by insisting the medication contained a steroid—despite clear evidence to the contrary.Overdosed My Dog on Dextromethorphan – The prescribed dose exceeded the maximum safe limit for my dog’s weight, which I confirmed by referencing the Merck Veterinary Manual and performing the appropriate dosage calculations. Within 90 minutes of administration, my dog developed severe lethargy, respiratory depression, and increased coughing and sneezing. This reaction could have been avoided with proper dosing and disclosure of potential side effects.Failure to Provide Informed Consent – No discussion of possible side effects was provided. When I asked, the front desk staff falsely stated that the prescribed medication "has no side effects"—a blatant misrepresentation of pharmacological safety.False Accusations & Record Falsification – When I reported my dog’s adverse reaction, I was falsely accused of causing the episode by administering Rimadyl (carprofen) with the dextromethorphan/guaifenesin combination. In reality, my dog had only received the prescribed medication as directed—Rimadyl had not been given for over 22 hours. Additionally, staff falsely claimed that my dog had been weighed in the back, despite never leaving my side during the visit.Meanwhile, my poor dog continues to suffer, and I have appointments with two different veterinarians tomorrow and Friday, hoping that at least one will truly listen and provide the care he needs.Dr. Hipskind’s approach to diagnostics, medication safety, and informed consent was inadequate and potentially dangerous. I urge pet owners to seek care elsewhere if they want thorough, accurate, and professional veterinary treatment.
