My boyfriend and I rescued a stray kitten after she was attacked by dogs. We took her to multiple emergency vets over the weekend, and while no one was able to perform a full exam, we were told she seemed stable and we brought her home to care for her. She was eating, purring, walking, and showed no signs of distress.Early the next week, we took her to Banfield because they had the earliest available appointment. We explained everything and shortly after drop-off, they called saying she needed $1,700 in radiographs for her back leg. We have the money and are more than happy to pay for whatever care our kitten needs. However, I have read several reviews and have been personally told that Banfield is notorious for pressuring pet owners into paying for unnecessary procedures and over charge customers. Additionally, our kitten has been very happy, eating, drinking water, climbing onto our couch and bed, and showing no signs of being uncomfortable or being in pain. Given how well she was acting, we decided to get a second opinion and were able to secure an appointment for the next day. When we told Banfield that we wanted to seek a second opinion and had already secured an appointment for the very next day, they pressured us and said our only options were to pay the $1,700 to them for the radiographs or surrender her to the SPCA or animal control. When we told them that we would not be pressured or threatened into paying them the $1,700, that we had another appointment and wanted to get a second opinion before committing to anything, they told us they’d be contacting animal control because they were concerned with her being in our care.We picked her up anyway, got her pain meds from them just incase she was feeling uncomfortable at all, and had them fax her records to the vet that we had an appointment with the next day. The next thing we know, animal control is at our home. The officer reviewed everything, examined the kitten, and said she seemed fine, wasn’t in pain, and looked well cared for.We’d already taken her to three vets, set her up in a safe, loving environment with everything she could possibly need and more, and had another vet appointment scheduled. Despite all this, Banfield reported us, seemingly because we didn’t agree to a costly procedure right away.I respect animal welfare, but this wasn’t about that. This felt like pressure and retaliation. If you care about your pet and your peace of mind, I’d strongly recommend avoiding Banfield.

They we're horrible. And if I could take that star away I would. They do not deserve any stars for their service. They called animal control on me. Because I said I wasn't going to let them run the test on King. After the lady said I had the option to take him somewhere else. Then they kept saying all we can do is make him comfortable and that he was dying. Only to find out they had the wrong age for him. By the way I don't know where they got that from. Because I told them how old he was when I scheduled the appointment the first time. Then after finding out King real age. They still told us all we can do is make him comfortable. Meaning he's going to die soon. By the way he's still alive and doing things that dogs do. I will never ever visit Landstown Bandfield ever again. They really upset us and we had just loss our 13 years old dog Bugatti to Cancer. After losing our 13 years old Rex to Cancer back in 2020. If someone wants to contact me that's fine. I can’t say enough good things about the Banfield Landstown Team! I will forever bring all my pets there and ONLY there, including future pets. I love ALL 4 Veterinarians! Dr. Clark and Dr. Smith have been the only ones that can do a blood draw for one of my dogs who is a difficult stick. They’re all so patient, loving and kind. They truly love your pet as their own. Not to mention all the vet assistants, vet techs and front desk staff that help keep the hospital functioning. I can’t thank them enough for everything they’ve done for my pets. I’ve referred multiple people to switch locations and they all will not go to any other locations now. The vets are thorough!

Banefield at Landstown commons are absolutely amazing. They do a great job taking care of my babies and they do a great job communicating with you. Between calls for confirmation of appointments to updates on your pet they do great.
