- Preventative Medicine: Programs for parasite control (fleas, ticks, heartworm), nutritional counseling, and weight management.
- Dental Care: Routine dental cleanings, extractions, and management of periodontal disease to maintain oral health.
- Surgical Procedures: Common soft-tissue surgeries such as spaying, neutering, lump removals, and other necessary surgical interventions.

Based on the provided customer reviews, Princess Anne Veterinary Hospital exhibits both positive and challenging aspects that highlight its operational characteristics:
- Caring and Positive Pet Experience (for some): One review indicates that pets, specifically "Leo," are treated "like a king" and "always feels better when he gets home." This suggests that some pets and owners have very positive, comfortable experiences, feeling that their animals are well-cared for and happy after their visit. This points to a staff that, for many, is capable of creating a positive environment for pets.
- Established Practice with History of Care: The review mentioning "Princess Anne Vet multiple times" for an ear infection suggests that the hospital has a history of providing ongoing care for repeat conditions, implying a base of returning clientele who have previously trusted their services.
However, it's also crucial to acknowledge the significant challenges highlighted in another review:
- Inconsistent Care and Staff Turnover: A major concern is the apparent inconsistency in care, particularly with a new doctor suggesting sedation for a routine ear infection previously treated without it. The issue of high staff turnover ("regular vet no longer works there," "can’t ever seem to hold on to employees") is a significant red flag, as it can disrupt continuity of care and lead to varying treatment approaches.
- Long Wait Times and Poor Time Management: The experience of waiting "over an hour" for an appointment and then being told to "bring him back because it’s so late in the day" indicates significant issues with appointment scheduling and time management, leading to frustration and wasted time for clients.
- Communication and Service Issues: Problems with "phone lines" and being "short staffed" point to systemic operational inefficiencies that directly impact customer service and the ability to access care.
- Perceived Lack of Flexibility/Understanding: The refusal to treat a routine issue without sedation, especially when the owner states they weren't paying for it and the issue had been treated differently before, suggests a lack of flexibility or understanding from the new veterinary professional.

However, it is crucial for locals to also consider the significant concerns raised in other reviews, particularly regarding staff turnover, inconsistent care, long wait times, and potential issues with communication and operational efficiency. These factors can impact the overall client experience and the continuity of care, which are vital for trust and satisfaction in veterinary services. While some may find Princess Anne Veterinary Hospital suitable for their pet's routine care due to its location and established presence, prospective clients should weigh these varied experiences. For locals, researching and perhaps having an initial consultation to gauge the current staff and operational flow would be a prudent step before committing to Princess Anne Veterinary Hospital as their primary veterinary care provider.

Princess Anne Veterinary Hospital Reviews
Leo and I love going there. Leo gets treated like a king. He always feesl better when he gets home
Jun 28, 2025 · Jason HuttonMy visit was absolutely terrible. My dog has an ear infection (which he has a history of) and he’s been treated for this by Princess Anne Vet multiple times. But for some reason this time in particular he did not receive care. My appointment was @3 and we were on time. Long story short I was informed by this doctor (who never treated my dog before) that he needs to be sedated which meant more money (that I wasn’t paying). I was then told his regular vet no longer works there (which always seems to be a problem) they can’t ever seem to hold on to employees here. And after waiting over an hour, I was told at 450 I would have to bring him back because it’s so late in the day. I will not be returning to them ever again. There’s always problems whether it’s their phone lines, or thembeing short staffed. Safe yourself the trouble
Feb 11, 2025 · Kiya ClarkABSOLUTELY the worst since Dr. Kier left. My dog went in today for a routine checkup. He's older and gets snippy. WHICH I TOLD THEM multiple times he needs to be completely sedated to which they did NOT do, they gave me two doses of pills to give him last night and then this morning. He was more mellow but not sedated. Then he snapped at a tech and now they're telling me I'm at fault. My dog has had a tough couple of years (emotionally - due to a divorce) and doesn't like to be away from the house or me. They don't give a crap about that. This place has gone to complete crap! I've been taking my dogs here since 2001!!!!! This is now the second time I've taken him in the last couples months and they've done nothing. Apparently today they were able to trim his nails this time. I've spent almost $1500 in the last few months to get absolutely less than what I'm paying for. I'm getting his records today and will never walk back in there. Which is a shame because when I first came here they were great! Thankfully a friend of mine knew where Dr. Kier wound up so that's where I'll be going. Independence Veterinary Hospital.
Feb 05, 2025 · Amanda WentzHad one of the best veterinary experiences ever at Princess Anne Veterinary Hospital. Booked my English Angora rabbit, Grayson Goose the Third, for a wellness exam, nail trim, and chest shave. We arrived a bit early in order to fill out the new client paperwork and were enthusiastically greeted by CSR Laurie. Our wait time for a room was minimal at best and the veterinary assistant (I believe her name was Ashley) was an absolute delight. She was very interested in learning about rabbits and truly went above and beyond to help Grayson overcome any “new client” fears he had. Dr. Edwards was amazing - patient, affectionate and professional. After a thorough rabbit checkup, Dr. Edwards trimmed his nails and shaved his chest without incident. Amazing feat as Grayson is usually quite the squirmy worm. Checkout was a breeze and we were in and out in less than an hour. We were treated like royalty the entire time! Grayson and I highly recommend Princess Anne Veterinary Hospital!
Dec 14, 2024 · Karen CalabroGreat hospital with great doctors and vet techs. We took our puppy for a new client/wellness exam and we were given all the information needed and he was greeted very well. They were very accommodating with the prescriptions we were using and have an online portal for easy ordering.Dr. Butala was amazing, very patient with all our questions, and answered all of them very thoroughly. She was very gentle when examining our puppy and he was very calm during the whole exam. This will be our place to go to for the rest of our time in VA.
