As a national chain, Banfield has a structured approach to veterinary care, which includes a wide range of standard services. The Beaverton location, like others in the network, is designed to be a one-stop-shop for many of a pet’s needs. However, customer experiences can be varied. While some clients report positive interactions and praise the staff's friendliness, others express concerns about communication and consistency. Reviews mention that some staff members, such as a front desk person named Kirsten and a veterinarian named Dr. Cahill, are "wonderful, helpful, and very kind" and "perfectly fine, she was very informative and kind." This indicates that there are caring and knowledgeable individuals on the team. However, other reviews point to issues with phone communication, with one client stating that "you’re never gonna get someone to answer the phone or answer your voicemails." There are also mentions of inconsistency in care, with one cat owner feeling that the staff "just didn't want to deal with" their nervous cat and called them to pick up the cat 45 minutes into a scheduled four-hour appointment. Another client noted an uninformative or confused staff member who was unsure about a prescribed medication. While there may be some inconsistencies in the service, it is clear that the staff, in general, tries to provide professional and compassionate care, even if there are occasional communication lapses. The hospital is LGBTQ+ friendly, which contributes to a welcoming environment for all clients. The facility is equipped to handle many common pet health issues and is a resource for routine care and urgent needs. The team works to provide the best possible care for their patients, even though some clients feel that the corporate structure can sometimes get in the way of a more personal experience.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I brought my cat Winnie in for an exam on 2/18 due to her having urination issues, my concern was uti and wanted to get her tested and medicated. Kirsten at the front desk was wonderful, helpful, and very kind. I am unsure the name of the woman who took me back but she was the complete opposite. Extremely short, uninterested, and uninformative. I was told they would be keeping Winnie for a couple hours in hopes of getting a urine sample but they would call to keep me updated. I went home and waited 6 hours until 30 minutes before close when I called THEM asking what was going on. They informed me that they have been unable to get a urine sample from Winnie and I was welcome to come and pick her up at this point. I go straight there, the same woman who took us to the exam room earlier comes out and starts trying to explain the medication. In the middle of explaining one of the medications to me she says “Actually, I’m unsure about this medication and I will have Dr. Cahill explain it to you.” My interaction with Dr. Cahill was perfectly fine, she was very informative and kind. Upon arriving home, I took Winnie out of the kennel that I brought her in, and she looked like this…1/2
March 04 · Marin RoseBanfield is kind of all over the place. Well first thing, you’re never gonna get someone to answer the phone or answer your voicemails, just is not gonna happen. Secondly, I have two cats, one of them is super friendly and every time we’ve taken her in there’s never been an issue. But when I brought in my other cat for excessive hair loss, they wouldn’t take her in because “she tried to scratch them”. Um…it’s a cat…at a vet…don’t you have things to help with this? I even gave her the relaxers they prescribed her before the appointment, and they wanted me to up the dosage even more, which doesn’t feel safe to me. The first time we brought her in for this issue they said it was just because she has anxiety and over grooms, and the medicine they gave us didn’t do anything. But after they wouldn’t take her for the second appointment, it feels like they just didn’t want to deal with her. I was told she was going to be gone for about 4 hours for bloodwork, and they called me 45 mins into the appointment to come pick her up. The guy at the front desk was amazing and super apologetic that I had to bring her here for nothing and didn’t make me pay for anything, but the doctors and nurses are just a little confusing and uninformative. Again, they’re great with one of our cats, but can’t seem to figure out a cat who gets nervous at the vet.
May 23 · Rowan PapkeThanks guys for taking care of my dog, he is family and we all want what is best for our family. Thanks for making his experience not scary but pleasant even though he got all his vaccines, he was a true alpha male and handled it great.
September 09 · I AmI took my dog Otis to Cedar Hills location for regular check up and my dog had been limping and showed signs with pain so i requested to have x-rays taken but when my husband went to go pick up the dog staff told him Otis did not need x-rays.I took him to Tigard location since it's a bigger office and i wanted a second opinion and after x-rays they suspected IVDD. I am deeply disappointed in how services, check ups are being done here at Banfield. If i had not taken my dog in for second opinion at a different location his condition would have gotten worse without knowing why.I went to banfield thinking my dog was in good hands who have so much compassion towards animals and now I cant help but to think the opposite. I am sure there are kind, passionate doctors who work for banfield but overall my experience was not good. I purchased the wellness plan as well but I cant even cancel without paying penalty fee even though i am unhappy with services because the plan is based on annual agreement and I did not know about it when i signed up until i called to cancel today. I DO NOT RECOMMEND BANFIELD AT ALL.
March 06 · Sarah JeongFrom the receptionist, to the vet techs, to the doctors everyone made me feel welcomed and answered all of my questions. I never felt rushed. I've had teeth cleaning for my small dog, Lisa and a full checkup for her. Lisa is doing very well.
