Deciding on the best veterinary care for your pet is a significant choice. Banfield Pet Hospital is a popular option for many South Carolina residents, but it is important to understand what makes them a worthy choice and to also consider all sides of the experience. Based on public data and customer reviews, Banfield offers several compelling benefits. One reviewer who recently relocated to SC expressed satisfaction with the "caring and helpful" staff who brought their pups' vaccinations "up to date" and provided "excellent care." This positive experience highlights the hospital's capability to provide essential, routine health services efficiently and with a professional demeanor. For a new resident, having a reliable vet "just down the road" who can get a pet's health on track is a significant advantage.
However, it is also important to consider all available feedback. Another reviewer had a vastly different experience, citing an unprofessional and "so rude" interaction with a staff member when inquiring about a heartworm treatment plan. This kind of negative experience, particularly in a professional setting like healthcare, can be a major deterrent for clients, who view their pets as family members. The reviewer's comment about working in healthcare themselves and understanding the profession can be "exhausting" but still expecting professionalism speaks to a core issue of customer service inconsistency. While the rude behavior of one employee may not reflect the entire team, it is a point of consideration for potential clients who are seeking a consistently positive and compassionate experience.
Despite the mixed reviews, Banfield's focus on preventive care through its wellness plans is a major draw for many. These plans aim to make routine care more accessible and affordable, which can be a relief for pet owners on a budget. The availability of on-site diagnostics, including X-rays and lab work, is also a significant plus, as it allows for quicker answers and more effective treatment planning. The combination of comprehensive services, a wellness-focused model, and a generally professional staff makes Banfield Pet Hospital a valuable option for residents of Myrtle Beach, provided that customers are aware of the possibility of mixed service experiences and are prepared to advocate for their pet's needs.

August 05 · Patricia MessinaI went to ask for heart worm treatment. I was told by two friends that they have friendly payments and I thought trying to get my pet in their care, but the person who I spoke to was so rude, that I won't come back anymore or recommend this place to anybody. My vet is really good but I thought trying just to seek for a better price. I also work in health care, and I know this profession may be exhausting, but you got to be professional towards your clients. I went having great expectations. I feel so bad, because our dog is like our child.
July 14 · Sandra Guillén de NavarroMs. Teresa was our receptionist, 1st time visiting this pet hospital was a great experience, she explained any questions we had, set up our first appointment for our pet .. They also have affordable pet plans that are rewarding which in the long run will save you alot of money when it comes to vet bills, I recommend this hospital to any one looking for a good place to start your pet care, they do vaccines, dental, checkups, medications, surgery for pets. They also have you to drop off your pet the day of appointment and will call you when your pet is ready to be picked up and let you know what's going on with your pet and any recommendations they have. It was a great 1st time experience, thank you Ms. Teresa for all your help.
July 03 · Lisa RI go to the vet when I have issues with my dog, I currently don’t have issues with my dog. This “Vet” is denying my dog a heartguard prescription because I need a heart worm test, my dog doesn’t have heart worm but by denying the medicine you are increasing the chance of my dog getting heart worm. 🥴 I would just give your business the money, but your STAFF told me to use chewy. Go to a different vet.
August 21 · J BSo after having a bad experience with a different vet, we were recommended here.Love! Love!! Love this vet!!! Felt welcomed from the moment we walked in. Compassionate from the beginning. Dr James Loder was amazing, listened, and addressed all our concerns. Very resourceful, we weren't pressured to buy extra unnecessary medications.
