★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Dr. Channell, Lacey and all the wonderful humans at Best Care Animal Hospital,My heart felt appreciation goes out to you for your dedication to love of caring for every pet that enters your sphere in need of comfort! You all are certainly among the very best that humanity has to offer. The sense of profound loss of Pumpkin is absolute eased only by your kindness shown to him in his final moments So much more than a pet he was the ultimate companion who craved attention for nothing more than a head rub or snuggle and was fortunate to find his human who gave it willingly. My mom had Pumpkin, his sister Oreo (RIP) and Little Miss who spent her early days as a semi-feral barn cat. They were in her care for 12 1/2 years and my summer visits for 2-3 months each year solidified a bonding. As much love and affection they receive from me during that time, my room was always the only fur free space. Except for the countless number of sneak ins that is! My mom’s room on the other hand was the feline mecca of the Gould residence for the three of them! Although Little Miss was slow to shed her innate feralness she never failed to show up with her house mates for 7pm treats and then jet off to be on her own. The other two would linger longer but soon be off on their early evening roam of the house. There was no guessing as to where Pumpkin and Oreo would be when it came time to call it a night. Oreo who mom held in high esteem and a favorite, had her own pillow perched behind her head. Pumpkin had his own spot he coveted where he spent nearly every night of his life. As mom laid on her left side he would head to his spot just below her arm making sure to be as close as possible. Of course the traverse of mom’s midsection was always a point of contention as Pumpkin always managed to make sure at least two steps of his 17 pounds would find their mark! I can still hear mom yelling out Pumpkin’s name and he probably thinking (what did I do?) Little did I know at the time at some point I would be incurring the same wrath! Jumping a head a few years after a little training he did learn the all important step over! He was really an intelligent fellow. We flash forward to July of 2020 and I’m on my summer visit to NH mom has just passed and I’m at the house alone in charge of the three cats. Now my mindset at the time was although you guys will get my undivided attention my room will remain off limits. Well after that first week my brother had returned home leaving that end of the house at night quiet and devoid of humans. Somehow Pumpkin managed that first night alone in the emptiness but he was more than ready for it to be his last! The next morning I was jarred awake by banging on my bedroom door. Hoping it wasn't a burglar but not quite sure what I was going to see when I opened the door. What I saw has left an indelible memory that will forever warm my heart and bring a smile to my face. Here’s this roly-poly ball of fur on his back, all four legs pointing straight to the heavens excited as can be to see me, thinking please please let me in. Well as you can imagine from that point on Pumpkin enjoyed that special nighttime spot with me for nearly the last five years with very few exceptions. He was a good friend and a constant joy. There wasn’t a single time when he was walking by and I offered my hand that he wouldn’t hesitate to change course and give a rub of acknowledgement. To say i’ll miss him terribly is certainly an understatement. My solace comes in knowing he was just as happy with me as I was with him. I hope he’s back together with sister Oreo in mom’s loving care. She'll be pleased to see he has learned the step over!Run free my friend!
May 21 · David GouldUpdate.. 3/31/25So I called the establishment to have my 10 pound dog fixed. They wanted to charge me well over $600… I asked them why it was so high they got somebody on the phone to feed me a bunch of crap… That is absurd that you would charge somebody That kind of money when I had 180 pound dog fixed for about $300… I feel like they take advantage with the breed of the dog that you bring in… You can afford 1000+ dollar, Dog so you can pay high Crazy fees!! Never in my life have I ever spent that much money even on a $5000 dog!! Definitely take your business elsewhere. Don’t let them take advantage of you and the sad part is I see a lot of elderly walking in and out of that placeI thought there were a good place.. they also give the same dosing of medication whether the dogs 100 pounds or 10 poundsDogs loved it didn’t show any sign of being scared. Staff were great.. big or small they did it. Was also told they have a groomer on the grounds.. good to know.
March 31 · Stephanie WWe have been with Best Care for 8 years. The staff and Dr's have always shown complete compassion and respect. Unfortunately, we just had to put our beloved 16-year-old Lhasa, Toby down. It was the most difficult thing we ever had to do. When I called, I explained how stressed he gets going on car-rides so they made sure to meet us at the door and guide us directly into the euthanasia room. They gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye. The whole staff handled the procedure very professionally with love and compassion. When it was over, they left us with him to say goodbye. We were then able to just walk out at our leisure both a sobbing mess. A few days later they sent a beautiful flower arrangement for our loss. Best Care Animal gets it! They understand how much love we have for our pets. Kudos to all of your team and thank you for the many years of care you provided to our angel!
September 01 · Tom WrobbelI have been going here for over 16 years. The staff and veterinarian's are all wonderful! They take their time and answer all questions you may have. They are very caring and attentive to your babies needs. Thank you for always taking great care of us. Love, Wicket, Chewie, Willow, Luke, Danny, Zoey, & Winston
September 21 · La Rena PeaseOn black Friday my wife and I had the tough decision to let go of our beloved cat after he lived to see almost 18 years of age. When we made the decision the staff not only was sincere and compassionate. They do it with a sincerity and love that's second to none. We will never be able to thank them enough for everything through the whole process. Although our hearts continue to hurt. We know he is in a better place and having Best care animal hospital to be there will not be forgotten...ever!
