Best Friends Animal Dentistry is conveniently located at 6110 Camino Verde Dr Suite #6, San Jose, CA 95119, USA. While one reviewer noted that the "location is a bit hard to find at first," once discovered, it is "easy" to access. This address places the specialized clinic within San Jose, making it accessible to a broad population of pet owners across the city and surrounding Silicon Valley communities, including Cupertino, Campbell, Los Gatos, and Santa Clara.
Being situated in a suite within a commercial area, the clinic likely offers dedicated parking, which is a significant advantage when bringing a pet in for appointments, particularly for those who might be experiencing dental discomfort. The overall accessibility within San Jose ensures that specialized dental care is within reach for those in the Bay Area, minimizing travel time and stress. Best Friends Animal Dentistry specializes in advanced oral and dental care for dogs and cats. Their focus allows them to address complex dental issues that might be beyond the scope of a general veterinary practice. Here are some of the specialized and comprehensive services they offer:
- Advanced Periodontal Care: Treating gum disease, which is highly prevalent in pets, including procedures like deep scaling, root planing, and potentially gingivectomies.
- Root Canal Therapy: A common procedure for fractured or dead teeth, allowing for the preservation of teeth that would otherwise need extraction.
- Difficult and Multiple Extractions: Expertise in performing complex tooth extractions, which may be necessary due to severe disease, trauma, or persistent deciduous teeth.
- Oral Surgery: Beyond extractions, they handle various oral surgical procedures, including mass removals (oral masses/tumors) and severe trauma cases.
- Digital Dental Radiography (X-rays): Essential for comprehensive dental evaluation, as much dental disease occurs below the gumline. They use digital X-rays to fully examine the state of a pet's teeth, roots, and bone structure.
- Anesthesia and Monitoring: All procedures are performed under general anesthesia, with rigorous monitoring of vital signs (heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, ECG) to ensure the pet's safety and comfort. They require pre-anesthesia blood work and an anesthesia consent form.
- Dental Cleanings and Polishing: Professional cleanings to remove plaque and tartar, including sub-gingival cleaning, followed by polishing to create a smooth surface that resists future plaque buildup.
- Persistent Deciduous Teeth Removal: Addressing retained baby teeth that can cause overcrowding and dental issues.
- Stomatitis Cases: Diagnosis and treatment for severe inflammation of the mouth, common in some felines.
- Thorough Dental Records and Communication: They provide detailed dental records with X-rays and comprehensive information about the anesthesia process to both the pet owner and the referring veterinarian.
Best Friends Animal Dentistry stands out for several key features that make it a highly respected and sought-after practice for pet oral health in the Bay Area:

Nov 20, 2023 · Breanna TurnerDr Zacher and staff are awesome. I have 3 dogs and they all had their teeth cleaned over the last month with her. Adam was awesome texting me and keeping me informed throughout all their procedures. Since they do this all day every day I feel at ease leaving my dogs with them. They even sent pics during recovery. They took wonderful care of my dogs. They do have you complete a medical history form, submit medical records and sign an anesthesia consent form which is for best interest of your pet. Dr Zacher is so thorough she reads through the medical records your regular vet sends. She will in turn provide you and your vet the most thorough dental records with exrays and detailed information about how anesthesia went. Top notch doctor and staff. You can't ask for better care.Pics are Sparky and Zoe recovering with nurses. I couldn't find Joeys pic..lol
Apr 21, 2023 · Elvera FariaWe got our Benji when he was just a year old—he’s a small rescue, and such a big part of our lives. Being in the dental field myself, I know how important dental hygiene is, even for pets, and I also know how nerve-wracking anesthesia can be.As an anxious dog mom, I’ve always felt so reassured by Dr. Zacher, Ellen, and Adam. They’ve been amazing at keeping us in the loop—letting us know when Benji is next in line for his procedure, how everything’s going, and just making sure we never feel in the dark. That level of communication has meant so much to me.We’ve been coming here for about four years now, ever since our vet in Oakland recommended them. And yes—we wake up at 6 a.m. just to make it to San Jose by 7, and it’s totally worth it. The care, the kindness, and the trust we feel here keep us coming back.Even though our insurance no longer covers Benji’s prophies, we’ll continue bringing him here as long as they’re here—and as long as Benji is with us. He deserves the best, and this team has given him justthat
Apr 16, 2025 · Mercedes Cordova1 Star for the front desk girls. 5 star for Dr Zacher for her service 2.5 years ago. She was great handling my dog’s procedure last time in 2023.Showed up on time but waited an hour to see no Dr Zacher. two girls out front (one was prolly a tech) suck big time giving clients attitude. I wasted an hour waiting when I could’ve stayed for the entire baby shower. I then asked to reschedule, and the tech says “WE ARE BOOKED MONTHS OUT”. She then asked me to pay upfront so I have one thing less to worry. Seriously? You want me to pay $250 for a service I haven’t received and who knows when? I said I wanted to cancel instead. She goes, why don’t you come back later today? I said NO. Then she says how about a week later? (Wait, didn’t you just say appointments were booked months out and if I give up today’s appointments I’d have to wait for months?) GET YOUR STORY AND SCHEDULE STRAIGHT!She then went cold attitude. This DOES NOT SIT WELL with me. I am not coming back and putting my dog in the cold small room waiting for no tomorrow and shaking nonstop. There was another client after me waiting for a long time and if I didn’t cancel my appointment today she was def going to wait for two hours just for a consult.
May 26, 2025 · CampbellOur Boston Terrier has received excellent care here a couple times and is already scheduled for his next cleaning. They book far ahead, are wonderful in communication, very compassionate and professional. Dr. and staff are great and clearly love working there. I say this because it's not always the case and I want folks who love their job handling my fur baby. The photo is how they brought him back to the car. We got such a laugh. Animal Dentistry is a specialty, as such it is an investment. Their billing is very clear and they have come in under estimate both times.
