Blue Ridge Mountain Bengals, located in Black Mountain, NC, is one such establishment. This article aims to provide an overview of this specific entity, primarily from the perspective of a potential local user seeking to understand more about their practices, particularly concerning the initial health and care of the kittens they provide. It's crucial for prospective pet owners to have as much information as possible to ensure they are making a responsible and informed decision when bringing a new animal into their family.
Blue Ridge Mountain Bengals is situated at 15 Vickies Ln, Black Mountain, NC 28711, USA. Black Mountain is a charming town located in Buncombe County, North Carolina, known for its scenic beauty in the Blue Ridge Mountains. For individuals across North Carolina interested in acquiring a Bengal kitten, this location places Blue Ridge Mountain Bengals within a reasonable driving distance from many parts of Western and Central North Carolina. However, as noted by a customer, a drive of 2.5 hours can be involved, emphasizing the need for buyers to be prepared for travel. When considering purchasing a pet, especially from a specialized breeder, understanding the physical location and the commitment required for pick-up or transport is an important accessibility factor for North Carolina locals.
Based on the provided information, Blue Ridge Mountain Bengals primarily operates as a cattery specializing in breeding and selling Bengal kittens. Therefore, the "services offered" are centered around the breeding and initial raising of these specific animals. From a customer's perspective and based on the review, the presumed services would include:
- Bengal Kitten Sales: The core offering is the sale of Bengal kittens to new owners.
- Initial Kitten Care: Before sale, the cattery is expected to provide basic care for the kittens, including feeding, housing, and general well-being.
- Website Information: Their website reportedly states claims about having "some of the top of the line kittens," which suggests an emphasis on breeding quality.
- Preparation for New Homes: This would ideally include ensuring kittens are healthy and free from common ailments before being sent to their new families.
It is important to note that the provided review highlights a significant discrepancy between what might be expected from a cattery and the actual condition of a kitten upon purchase, suggesting potential issues with the initial care or health screening prior to sale. As such, while the stated services might imply healthy, "top-of-the-line" kittens, the factual customer experience indicates that potential buyers should exercise due diligence regarding the health checks and conditions of the animals before finalizing a purchase.
Based solely on the provided customer review, the "features" and "highlights" of Blue Ridge Mountain Bengals are limited and, in some cases, present a concerning picture from a buyer's perspective.
- Specialization in Bengal Kittens: The cattery's specific focus on Bengal kittens is a feature for those interested in this particular breed.
- Website Claims of High Quality: The mention of their website stating they have "some of the top of the line kittens" suggests a promotional claim of high breeding standards.
- Discrepancy in Kitten Gender: One notable point from the review is that the buyer was expecting a male kitten but received a female, indicating potential issues with accurate record-keeping or communication.
- Reported Health Concerns in Kitten: The most significant highlight, unfortunately, is the critical feedback regarding the kitten's health upon arrival. The kitten was diagnosed with:
- Fleas
- Worms
- An injured eye
- An upper respiratory infection
- Perceived Lack of Care: The customer explicitly states that the kitten "wasn't taken good care of raising her," which is a direct reflection of their experience and a significant concern for potential buyers.
- Limited Public Reviews: The customer's initial observation of not seeing "any other reviews" could be a highlight (or a red flag, depending on interpretation) suggesting a smaller online presence or a relatively new operation that hasn't accumulated much public feedback.

Blue Ridge Mountain Bengals Reviews
I guess it should have told me something when I didn’t see any other reviews but I purchased a kitten 11/1 from this “cattery”. I was purchasing a male, after driving 2.5hrs I get there only to find out they brought me a female. I took the kitten anyway seeing what condition she was in and knowing I could take care of here anyway. Next morning 11/2, took her to the vet to find out she has fleas, worms, an injured eye and an upper respiratory infection. Their website states they have some of the top of the line kittens. This kitten is sweet as can be but wasn’t taken good care of raising her.
