★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I personally know people who have been using this vet for over 15 years and have loved it until recently. But like other reviews I’ve seen recently, the experience has gone very much down hill. My first experience with them was being misinformed of my kitten’s due date for booster shots, and having to start them over because of it (and pay for them twice). This while also witnessing an older pet Dad struggle with how to pay for a medication that his dog desperately needed, and instead of letting him know he could get it cheaper at a pharmacy, trying to push him to buy it from them. I followed that man out and told him- he was crying. This last experience, my kitten was severely ill and hospitalized there- after spending a total of $1800 in emergency care, they called me the next day not to check on my kitten but to tell me they forgot to charge me for something and to ask for more money. I was appalled and very disappointed. This clinic used to be so wonderful, but the new practice management doesn’t seem to care one single bit about the people who bring their pets in. I really hope they can do something to turn it around because they are losing their wonderfully built generations-long reputation over things like this. 💔 And I do hope the owner (not just the manager) sees this. I won’t be returning until it gets turned around.
July 03 · JaM CatlinThis was my very first visit to Care Animal Hospital with my sweet BLU, and I couldn’t be more impressed. From the moment we arrived, the staff was welcoming, kind, and attentive. They went above and beyond to fit us in for a last-minute appointment, which made a stressful situation so much easier. The doctors and team took the time to listen carefully, explain everything clearly, and treat BLU with genuine care and compassion. I could tell right away that her comfort and well-being were their top priority. The facility is clean, organized, and calming, which helped both of us feel at ease. It’s clear that everyone here truly loves animals and takes pride in providing excellent service. I left feeling confident that BLU is in the best hands possible. I’m so grateful to have found Care Animal Hospital and look forward to trusting them with BLU’s care for years to come!
August 17 · Allen OrrToday, I had an appointment for an annual checkup for my doggy. I have been with this business for 6 years now. Even though I moved away from the area I still drive 1 hour to take my doggy here every year. 5 minutes away from the facility there was an accident that occurred in real time. This caused me to be 17 minutes late. I called and told them. but yes It caused me to be 17 minutes late. I walk in and the person says "oooh so so sorry we canceled the appointment and have to reschedule." I looked around and I am literally the only one in the reception area. No customers, no animals just me. So after driving an hour and waiting in traffic, I said, "ok, I see hmm...well since after 6 years i do not have any kind of grace period and you just cancel my appointment after driving for an hour then that tells me you have too much business and my business is not needed anymore so I instructed the young lady to right then and there forward all of my Doggy's history to me via email and that I would not be using them anymore." 6 years....sorry but it only takes one time to unfriend a loyal customer. I am very happy they have so much business that mine will not be missed. Thanks.
August 18 · AJ StoanI had a 10:30am appointment for my kitten. I waited 25 minutes before being sent into a room. This was the appointment for the last booster for my kitten And this was my first time going there with my kitten. I have been going there for over 25 years when I had dogs and was excited to be able to go back there now that I had a kitten because I really love the care and how they treated you and how they were upfront with all the charges back then. But this was not the case on my first visit with my new kitten. I asked if I should get the wellness plan and the technician said well it shouldn’t be that much of a charge it is not worth to get that so I did not.Dr. Rubenstein came in to check on my kitten. He said that it looks like I did not get the feline leukemia shot for my kitten so I called the place where I got the kitten to find out if it was done and it was not, so I decided that I would get the shot then done since I already had the appointment scheduled at Care Animal Hospital. But then I was told that they would have to run a test to see if the kitten had leukemia before he could give the shot and that would take 30 minutes so I went ahead and had the test done. They came out negative and then got the leukemia shot And then when I got the bill, it stated that this was just an initial leukemia shot, but that was never mention from the doctor or technician at the time when they recommended that I should get the shot that it would be two shots and the next one would have to be done 30 days from today. So I went to the front desk to pay and I said how come I couldn’t get on the wellness plan this was not what I expected to pay today and I did ask the technician to be put on the wellness plan and they said it wasn’t needed, and he was there when the doctor explained the leukemia shot should have been given as well today. As a first time patient, you would think they would explain the wellness plan to you and get you signed up for it, but they did not.I was very disappointed on how they wasn’t upfront with all the charges and not letting you know that they would be also a second shot that was needed until you read it yourself on the paperwork. This is not the same veterinarian that I used to go with when I have my dogs. It’s so sad to see this place to turn into a business That their name that says Care that they do not care. This is no longer a personal practice that was run by Dr. Kane as it still implies by the veterinarian signs. It is run by a corporate group called Home Veterinarian group. That explains the poor service and nondisclosure of fees. It is no longer about Care but about the $$$$.
July 11 · Sue MI just have to rave about Care Animal Clinic in Brandon, FL! Every time I go, the staff is super friendly and courteous. They make you feel right at home, which is great when you're worried about your pets. My dogs actually get excited to visit – I think they might love it there more than I do!The vets are awesome and really take the time to explain things and answer any questions I have. I’ve been to a bunch of different vets over the last ten years, and this place is by far the best. If you’re looking for a great vet, I can’t recommend Care Animal Clinic enough! They really take care of your furry family members.
