The **Center For Animal Healing** specializes in a unique blend of holistic and alternative veterinary therapies, often working in conjunction with or as an alternative to conventional treatments. Their services are designed to promote natural healing, reduce pain, and improve the overall quality of life for pets, often focusing on non-invasive or minimally invasive techniques.
- Microcurrent Therapy: A flagship service, highlighted by a customer review for treating a torn ACL without surgery. This therapy uses low-level electrical currents to stimulate healing at a cellular level, reduce inflammation, and alleviate pain. It's offered as a powerful non-surgical option for various musculoskeletal issues.
- Acupuncture: Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) acupuncture is likely a core offering, used to address pain, neurological conditions, internal organ imbalances, and promote overall wellness by stimulating specific points on the body.
- Herbal Medicine: Utilizing Western and/or Eastern herbal formulations to support various body systems, manage chronic conditions, and enhance the body's natural healing processes.
- Nutritional Counseling and Supplements: Personalized dietary recommendations and guidance on therapeutic supplements to support specific health conditions, enhance vitality, and optimize pet health from a holistic perspective.
- Chiropractic Care: Adjustments to address musculoskeletal imbalances and improve nervous system function, often beneficial for pets with back pain, lameness, or performance issues.
- Rehabilitation Therapy: While not explicitly detailed, services related to physical rehabilitation, especially after injury or for senior pets, would likely complement their non-surgical approach to conditions like ACL tears.
- Preventative and Wellness Care (Holistic Approach): Although specializing in alternative therapies, a comprehensive understanding of general wellness, vaccinations, and parasite control would still form a part of their holistic preventive strategies, often emphasizing natural or less invasive options where possible.
- Senior Pet Care: A strong focus on extending the quality of life for senior pets, as evidenced by a 16.5-year-old dog "saved twice" and another living to nearly 19. Their therapies aim to manage age-related conditions and improve comfort.
- Personalized Treatment Plans: Every pet's condition and needs are assessed individually, leading to customized treatment protocols that may combine several alternative therapies.
The **Center For Animal Healing** is distinguished by several remarkable features and highlights that make it a truly exceptional veterinary practice, particularly for pet owners in Virginia seeking specialized or alternative care:
- Life-Extending and Life-Saving Capabilities: The most compelling highlight, as shared by a grateful client, is their ability to have "saved my dog's life twice so far" and extended her life significantly to 16.5 years. Another pet lived to nearly 19. This demonstrates their profound impact on animal longevity and quality of life, especially for senior pets.
- Successful Non-Surgical Solutions: A significant highlight is their expertise in offering effective non-surgical alternatives to major procedures. The success story of a dog with a torn ACL being treated with microcurrent therapy, avoiding a "$6000+ surgery" with "12 week recovery," is incredibly powerful. The rapid improvement in the dog's energy, playfulness, and comfort after just two treatments is a testament to their innovative methods.
- Exceptional Care for Reactive/Anxious Pets: The staff's "incredible" ability to "ensure that my dog can get in and out without any issue or coming across the path of another dog" for a reactive pet is a rare and invaluable feature. This customized handling minimizes stress for both the pet and owner, making visits possible for animals with behavioral challenges.
- Holistic and Integrative Approach: The clinic's focus on "animal healing" rather than just "treatment" suggests an integrative philosophy that looks at the whole animal. They offer therapies like microcurrent that go beyond conventional medicine.
- Deep Client Gratitude: Clients express immense appreciation, with phrases like "I will be forever grateful," "I can't say enough good things about this place," and "we are truly blessed to have a place like this in our area!" This profound gratitude highlights the clinic's significant positive impact on families.
- Cost-Effective Alternatives: By providing non-surgical options like microcurrent therapy at a much lower cost ($295 for the first treatment including exam, then $95 per treatment) compared to expensive surgeries, they make advanced care more accessible.
- Visible and Rapid Improvements: The rapid change in the dog with the torn ACL—acting like a "different dog" with "a lot more energy" and better sleep after just two treatments—shows the immediate and tangible benefits of their therapies.

Center For Animal Healing Reviews
This is the most amazing place.... they have saved my dog's life twice so far she's 161/2 years old. And if it wasn't for the center for animal healing Haiey would have been gone a long long time ago.... I will be forever grateful .... I also brought my other dog here she is no longer with me she passed away one month shy of her 19th birthday. I also brought my cat here.... I can't say enough good things about this place we are truly blessed to have to have a place like this in our area!
Dec 10, 2024 · kim mcculloughBefore I begin the review I want to say that my dog is reactive and does not do well with other dogs. The staff here are incredible and ensure that my dog can get in and out without any issue or coming across the path of another dog. My baby girl Fai has a torn ACL. I really didn't want to put her through surgery, but it was affecting her quality of life. She was lazy and didn't really want to do anything. My trainer at HalfMoon Bay suggested this place because she knew they could possibly help me avoid surgery. The surgery is $6000+ and has a 12 week recovery time for those who don't know. This doctor told me they believe they can fix her torn ACL with no surgery. For microcurrent the first treatment included an exam for $295. We pay $95 for microcurrent treatment when the exam isn't needed. We have done 2 microcurrent treatments so far and she is already acting like a different dog. She has had a lot more energy and has wanted to play far more often. She also seems to sleep better again and even started cuddling up to us during bed time after the first treatment. She is so much happier and is clearly not in as much pain. We aren't supposed to let her jump or play too much while she heals but it's really hard to stop her because she's finally feeling good. I can't wait to continue to see her improvement over the next few treatments. Thank you The center for animal healing for providing a non-surgical option for my baby girl to get better.
Aug 23, 2023 · Regina CurtisMy poodle was not feeling well and I brought him here. Got some laser therapy slept like an old man for the rest of the day and was up and running the following morning. Great staff. Professional service.
Jun 14, 2025 · Elizabeth AntoineWe have 3 doodles and the oldest bad breath and teeth were in need of cleaning. I called and set up appt and from start to finish this place was a breath of fresh air. No sedation and my doodle was happy the whole time. They even walked by me in the waiting room and she did not try to get to me. I first must say at the groomers and vet, she does not go with them. I literally have to walk her back. When she came out, she was just as happy with the technician as when she went in. I just could not believe it and we were in and out in about 40 minutes. No skipping meals and no all day appt. I am amazed. My next one will be my little doodle. They even give you a dental report on their findings. Did I say I was amazed!!!
