- Preventative Care: This foundational aspect of veterinary medicine includes routine vaccinations, annual wellness exams, parasite prevention (fleas, ticks, heartworm), and nutritional counseling. Preventative care is essential for catching potential health issues early and maintaining overall well-being.
- Diagnostic Services: To accurately diagnose illnesses or injuries, veterinary practices often utilize various diagnostic tools. This can include in-house laboratory services for blood tests, urinalysis, and fecal exams, as well as digital radiography (X-rays) for imaging bones and internal organs.

- Surgical Procedures: Many clinics perform routine surgeries such as spaying and neutering, as well as other soft tissue surgeries. The practice would likely prioritize safe anesthetic protocols and thorough post-operative care.
- Emergency and Urgent Care: While not necessarily a 24/7 emergency center, a local veterinary practice often handles urgent care needs during business hours, addressing sudden illnesses or injuries that require prompt attention.
- Pain Management: For pets experiencing chronic pain due to conditions like arthritis or recovering from surgery, pain management strategies are vital. This can involve medication, therapeutic exercises, or other supportive treatments.
- Microchipping: A common and highly recommended service, microchipping helps in reuniting lost pets with their owners by providing permanent identification.

Community Veterinary Practice Reviews
Terrible experience specifically with Dr. Hulshizer. I never give negative reviews, but, when it comes to our pets, I feel it is my responsibility. He demonstrated a lack of compassion towards our dying dog, and was very rude towards us. This Dr. is as insensitive as they come, and is in the wrong line of work. As for the tech assistant who was whining about assisting our dying Labrador on the 2" high scale because of her back pain, I'd suggest she consider another line of work as well. For what they charge, you would expect excellent service. They have lost a customer, and I hope this review helps someone else choose better for their beloved pet.
Apr 16, 2025 · Irene TitusWe have been going here for years for our cats and dogs. Dr. Bud is always accomodating as is his staff. The place is clean and all staff seems to really care for our pets.
Jan 13, 2025 · Donna BurtonThis review is not about the wonderful Vet Techs nor the support staff.I could go on and on about the issues with this practice. Suffice it to say, if you love your pet go somewhere else because the male Vet could not care less about your pet. The prices are insane which makes the lack of empathy for the welfare of your pet worse. If you MUST go here, the female Vet is hands down the better of the two. She is compassionate and knowledgeable. Problem is, if you leave your pet there, which Vet will be touching him or her?The male Vet was nasty to his staff, me, and worst of all, he treated my pet like a thing and wasn’t gentle about it. I felt horrible for my pet and paid to know nothing more than I did when I walked in. I asked for records to be sent to my new vet and did not receive a call back and records were not sent. Animals deserve no less than we do. I feel horribly guilty that I put my animals in his hands. Stenglein on Cherryville Rd. is a much better option.
Apr 22, 2024 · EPennaThe vets and techs are very helpful with our dogs. They take their time and give puppy loving to each of them.
Apr 10, 2025 · Amy LynnDr. Carpenter and her staff were wonderful when we had to make the toughest decision in having our dog euthanized. Very caring and took wonderful care of our Bo. Thank you to this great team. We really appreciate you and all you do for our fur babies ♥️
