★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- The doctors and staff are so knowledgeable, kind & caring! They take time to listen and help your pet get the best care! We don’t trust anyone else with our babies! We have been there 22 years and had 10 pets they have cared for! Wonderful people! August 21 · Kimberly Snipes
- CRAIN VETERINARY IS THE BEST!! They are also the most reasonably priced vet I have ever gone to. Suggest before you bad mouth a business, maybe go check out what other vets would of charged you for the same services (that alone should change your mind about Crain). Also you should let them know, when you drop off your fur babies, not to add any meds or services without getting your permission first. Pretty simple. August 17 · Denise Sawyer
- Okay so good and bad here, let's start with the goodWas able to call in before they closed for the night and be seen next day, also was able to get my dog in for same day surgery that day that she needed. Fast service and friendly and niceThe badThey apparently can't do quotes right as other commenters have said they always get up charged when paying/picking your animal I paid $900 for her surgery and then got told I owed $1.50 more.... You guys quoted me wrong and couldn't eat a $1.50 charge after I paid $900?? Was told "that's not to bad" but for what I paid that was a little ridiculous.Taking her back this week to get stitches removed I was told it's included and paid for already hopefully that information is correct. - Crain Veterinary uses fear tactics to push unnecessary treatmentI took my dog to Crain Veterinary for a bath and mentioned a small scrape on his stomach. When I came back, they told me it was infected and that he needed multiple injections and 14 days of antibiotics. They charged me before I even saw my dog. When I got home and looked at the area, it was clearly not infected — just a minor abrasion, like a rug burn. I didn’t give him any of the antibiotics, and within 48 hours it had nearly healed. I even had multiple nurse and nurse practitioner neighbors check it out, and they all agreed it didn’t need any treatment at all. Here’s what really bothers me: I believe Crain Veterinary, and specifically Dr. Kyle Pellow, used fear-mongering tactics to coerce and manipulate me — a loving dog owner — into paying for treatments my dog didn’t need, all to boost the clinic’s bottom line. And I’m not alone — go read their Google reviews. This seems to be a pattern. When I pushed back and questioned what happened, they fired me as a client and told me not to come back — after over two years of being a respectful and consistent customer. If you care about your pet and don’t want to be taken advantage of emotionally or financially, I strongly recommend finding a different vet. - Absolutely the biggest scam of a veterinary clinic in the world! They prey on people who care about their pets. I took my almost 15 year old golden retriever in there with a limp. They insisted I had to leave her, and they had to sedate her to take X-rays. They told me her teeth really needed a cleaning. I really figure that is wild with her age, and I have recently had it done. He gave me a whole spiel about how they were bad and it would cause her heart disease. (I only took her there because my regular vet could not get her in and I needed to get her seen right away.) I told them if she had cancer I didn’t want to spend the $200 for the teeth cleaning if I was going to need to put her to sleep. They call, and say it’s just some arthritis and she will be okay, so they proceeded with the teeth cleaning. Sent her home with some medicine. She just drastically got worse. So they tell me I need to bring her back, and do an injection. I will have to pay for an exam even though I just paid for the exam less than a week before. Then when I ask what the exam exactly is, they tell me “he will just feel on her” so I just decide I need a second opinion. Take her to a different vet and sure enough she has cancer and is suffering horribly, and has been the entire time. My vet said it was very obvious what it was, and there was no mistaking it. They sent her home, knowing she was suffering, just so they could keep making money off of her. I have never been so disappointed in a business. I wish I could give 0 stars. July 05 · Kayla Killough
