★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- Update! I still recommend going here. They provided great care for my 12 year old great dane. We had to put down my beloved dane. The staff at this Animal Hospital provided compassion and great care for my old boy.My dog had an accident and needed treatment.. they were able to have a look at her between appointments I just called ahead of time and dropped her off. I'm very pleased and grateful they can check her over. They're friendly and great with my dogs. Little spendy but worth every penny! April 07 · XVikkitoriaX Wynee
- Such a wonderful group! The whole staff is friendly and has a desire to give your pet the best vet experience a pet can get. My cat does very well with them even after a 1 hour car ride to agitate her. They show her love and patience when she gets angry, and thanks to Churu she now has a favorite snack! - I came here to put my beloved dog down after his on going battle with cancer. I was visiting Detroit Lakes from Washington, D.C. to spend my dog’s final days at the lake house. I was very satisfied with the service provided at this animal hospital. The staff and vets were very friendly and accommodating. The whole process was smooth and peaceful. Thank you all again for making my dog’s final moments as comfortable as possible! July 31 · Mo Abouelatta
- Over-priced and poor customer service. This hospital placed more importance on having regular billing than on our dog's health. After spending several thousand dollars over a number of months to rehabilitate our diabetic dog, this hospital denied us insulin if we didn't continue the costly glucose curves. At this point in the process, these curves were not providing helpful information nor improving our dog's quality of life. Our dog was doing fine and had been maintaining good health, but they wanted to continue the billing schedule and refused medication knowing our dog needed insulin twice per day to survive. What bothered me the most with this experience was that neither Dr. Parsons nor the owner had the professional decency to tell us that they would be refusing medication for our dog. They had the Vet Tech. give us the news.Very unprofessional! We were completely frustrated at this point, and chose to find a new veterinarian to work with. We are so happy that we transferred to another local business. We were provided insulin immediately. Costs have went down considerably and we've been told by multiple vets that this 8-hour glucose curve test that we had regularly been completing with the DL Animal hospital ($350-500 per visit) is very unreliable and not accepted by other veterinarians. We only wish we had made the change of veterinarian services much earlier. Don't make the same mistake that we did.Note: I would have given 1 star if it wasn't for the immediate care DL Animal Hospital provided our dog for the initial Diabetes diagnosis. - I would 100% recommend the clinic for pet care! The veterinary technicians and office staff were amazing!!! But…. I would NOT recommend their dermatologist that travels from the Cities once a month. She was an hr late to the appointment, she didn’t bring the immunotherapy that was promised for this appointment (blaming her error on her technician), she did not like it that I had a difference of opinion on some of MY dogs treatment plan, and she was very abrasive the two times my dog has had appointments with her! The whole reason I went to the second appointment was to get the immunotherapy treatment because prior to going, I had already made an appointment with a different dermatologist because of my first experience with her.
