Dickson Animal Clinic

Animal hospital ★4.0

2940 S New Hope Rd, Gastonia, NC 28056, USA

4.0
The old Dickson Animal Clinic would have earned 4.5 stars from me, but since the expansion and remodel, it no longer feels like the same place. The focus now seems to be on packing the schedule and moving clients through quickly—often in 15 minutes or less. It's difficult to get through to them by phone in a timely manner, and same-day appointments are rarely available. If you do manage to get squeezed in, expect an additional $50 fee (usually at the vet’s discretion, but in my experience, always applied). The most heartbreaking part of my experience is related to a cat I recently lost due to gastrointestinal and obesity issues. I raised concerns repeatedly, but was passed between different vets and never felt truly heard. The issues were documented, but no one took meaningful action—and now, years later, she’s gone.I don’t question the competence of the veterinarians, but I do question their priorities. It increasingly feels like revenue comes before patient care. I was even quoted one price for a procedure, only to be given a new quote—$300 higher—weeks later by the same vet.Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend this clinic. - Mike Martel
