★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I recommend this practice to all of my friends! I have two rescued pups from the shelter. They’re a handful, but receive amazing care here- everything from routine vaccinations to getting stitches after cutting a paw pad (see pics). The staff is always helpful and friendly, and they even send text message reminders for annual appointments! 10/10 experience with this clinic.
August 02 · Meghan RojasVery grateful to Dr Rojas and her staff . They gave me options in cost without sacrificing medical care. I’m on disability so that was a great help to me . They really helped my teacup Baby
August 26 · Mona Javi Blancate MezaTook me as a walk in for my Cat's first round of shots, left my phone in the car and by the time i got back to the front door, they were already done! Very nice/polite staff. they answer the phone fairly quick and are very knowledgeable as well :) prices are reasonable and i would definitely recommend for anyone looking to take their kitty/doggo for some preventative care
August 01 · Dez EcheI brought my rescue doberman to Eastlake Animal Clinic to have his heartworm treated. First visit went fine (Doxycycline antibiotics to be followed by 3 very dangerous shots that require the dog be crated for 3 months). This medication is very dangerous for the heart tissue. My dog was living in the yard of a vacant house for 6 years. Crating him for 3 mos will kill him. I explained to the vet, and he agreed to a Slow Kill Method that requires doses of antibiotics and ivermectin. Sometimes for 2 years but I was okay with that. When we showed up for a Doxycycline refill, we got a female vet that was adamant that she wanted to give Koa the shots. “Do I have to crate him?” Yes. Well, I advocated for my dog! No ma’am. That will kill him. “Can I please speak to the other vet?” Nope. Meanwhile, they bring my dog out cause he’s having “a seizure.” “No ma’am, that’s an idiopathic shake that some breeds get. It isnt dangerous…just hard to watch.” Well, the vet got mad that I asked why she didnt know about this. “Please take your antibiotics and wait in the lobby.”Okay so fast forward 1 year. Still on the doxy and now Im getting emails from Eastlake. Koa is due for vaccines. We’re now open on Sundays yaaay! So I make an appt. Then they call me and cancel. “Why?” Im talking to a very nice gentlemen I thought was a vet. I kept calling him Doctor. He explains that there was just too much tension and the notes said I should go elsewhere. I asked him his name and he said “Fred. The Head tech.” Oh wait. You arent a vet? (The vets are usually the owners). Youre a tech?” Well, Fred se altero!! “Yes! Im just a technician. Your records will be at the front desk!”My experience with this place is not a good one. We as pet parents/owners must advocate for our animals. Do not get bullied into a decision that you will regret down the road. Veterinarians should welcome feedback from their clients.Making an Edit to answer to their reply: the heartworm vaccine is in the $1000s of dollars. If you question their medical advice (notice that the female vet didnt know about the head shakes), they said I was bullying them which is projecting that THEY ARE BULLYING you into a treatment. I stand by my review and have found a more empathetic vet that isnt pushing me into jeopardizing my dog’s life because they want more $. God bless.Update**Jan 04 2025. Living in South Padre Island and my Koa was just cleared from heartworm. Living his best life with me along for the ride! He can run to his heart’s content in the surf!
April 10 · Normajean VasI will always and forever sing the praises of this clinic, especially Dr. Gomez. He saved our beloved old family dog when he suffered heat stroke and they immediately went into action to try and save him. Dr. G and his staff did everything they could do to stabilize our pet and then we transferred him to a 24 hour vet hospital. I credit our dog’s full recovery from the quick action taken by Dr. G and his team. Both he and his staff were so kind and gave me grace when I was a crying (hysterical) mess.I know this office is super busy and that can be frustrating but when it counts the most they are quick to action to do everything they can do for your pet.My only only only complaint is I wish they had a larger office and a quiet space for euthanasia patients. We had an elderly dog with bone cancer. It was clear it was his time to pass and we had to call around to find a place with a designated space for us to say goodbye to my husband’s dog from his bachelor days. I have said this to their staff and it seems like this is a future goal of theirs. The staff is quick to respond and sending emails for records. They are kinda expensive but that’s everything these days.Thank you Dr. Gomez and staff for everything that you did on my worst day as a pet owner. You gave me grace and understanding. Major is a happy old man living his best life out in the country.
