Eastport Animal Hospital Introduce
For pet owners across New York, especially those residing on the beautiful Long Island, the search for quality veterinary care is a significant aspect of responsible pet ownership. Eastport Animal Hospital, located in East Moriches, stands as a local veterinary practice aiming to serve the health needs of animal companions in the community. This article will provide an overview of Eastport Animal Hospital, detailing its location, the services it offers, and aiming to provide factual information to help users in the New York region learn more about this place.
Eastport Animal Hospital positions itself as a provider of veterinary services for the local Long Island community. Like many veterinary clinics, its primary objective is to offer medical attention and care for pets, ranging from routine check-ups to addressing various health concerns. The intention of such a facility is to be a reliable point of contact for pet owners seeking professional advice and treatment for their animals.
Client experiences at any service-based business can vary, and veterinary care is no exception. Positive feedback often highlights the compassionate and effective care provided. One recent client shared: "Just had our first visit with this animal hospital and they were amazing everyone was wonderful. Prices are comparable to any other VET. So much better than the vet I used with my last dog. So happy to have found them! Pup loved them as well!!" This review indicates a positive initial experience, appreciating the staff's demeanor and finding the pricing to be in line with other veterinary services, leading to satisfaction for both the owner and their dog.
However, it is also important to acknowledge that not all experiences are uniform, and some clients may have significantly different perspectives. A contrasting review offered a very strong negative opinion: "This has to be an assembly of the rudest, most incompetent and arrogant batch of doctors and receptionists on Long Island. SERIOUSLY! There were TWO nice ladies that answered the phone but other than that the vets are condescending, talk way too fast… like they’ve had too much caffeine (or something else?) they feel insulted if you ask them to slow down and don’t like it if you don’t want to follow their advice ~ like neutering our puppy at six months which has been proven to have dire consequences on the life of the dog! They’re also extremely money hungry ~ it’s all about making you come back as many times as they can possibly bill you for! Our puppy had worms and was being treated here but our other dogs had another parasite which needed to be treated and the vet we saw refused to give the antidote then changed her mind when I called another animal hospital and then refused to check the stool sample we brought in and then told us to schedule another appointment to be examined BEFORE the next appointment for the next vaccine… SO THEY COULD MAKE MORE MONEY. This place is horrible, dark, foreboding and the atmosphere is extremely tense. All of our dogs we have taken here hide under the bench from them exhibiting serious fear and anxiety, which has NEVER happened anywhere else. Needless to say we will not be returning and would highly recommend you seek another veterinarian hospital. RUN THE OTHER DIRECTION FROM THESE PEOPLE." This provides a very strong counter-narrative, highlighting concerns about staff demeanor, perceived competence, communication style, pricing practices, and the pets' fearful reactions to the environment. This illustrates the importance of individual research and, if possible, visiting a clinic to gauge the atmosphere and speak with staff before committing to long-term care.

Its convenient location on Montauk Highway offers straightforward accessibility for routine visits and general pet health needs. The positive feedback from some clients highlights a potentially welcoming environment and competent service, with a focus on making both pets and owners feel comfortable during their visits, and pricing that aligns with regional averages.
However, it is crucial for local New York pet owners to conduct their own thorough evaluation. The significant disparity in customer experiences, with some highly negative feedback regarding staff demeanor, communication, perceived competence, and the emotional comfort of pets, suggests that individual experiences can vary widely. Prospective clients are encouraged to call the clinic, perhaps visit in person if possible, and engage in direct conversation to gauge if the hospital's approach and atmosphere align with their personal preferences and their pet's specific needs. For pet owners prioritizing convenience and finding a local clinic with a potentially positive initial experience, Eastport Animal Hospital could be considered. Yet, for those for whom a consistent and universally positive experience, particularly in terms of staff interaction and pet comfort, is paramount, further investigation and consideration of alternative options may be warranted.

Apr 07, 2025 · Diana RoweWe are so very grateful for Eastport Animal Hospital, Dr. Kristen Hultberg, and her team. They are absolutely amazing and true professionals. We have a two year old Cane Corso, Enzo, who is 140lbs and nervous when going to the vet. We have been to two vets previously and they seemed to be apprehensive to work with Enzo because he is so large. They were not very patient and didn't care to explain anything to us e.g. need for various vaccines and medicine. They would give him vaccines without asking about our lifestyle. They prescribed him medicine without explanation or discussion of risks. We just trusted them. As a result Enzo didn't have a good reaction to a tick and flea preventative, it made him sick and when we brought it up they dismissed and belittled our concerns. Another vet even told us Enzo would eventually become aggressive because he is not fixed (even though Enzo has never had any instance of aggression and that vet made that conclusion upon meeting him once). We started to feel like we couldn't trust vets and we felt disheartened. We thought maybe we would not be able to take Enzo to the vet for preventative care ever. But then we gave it one more chance and decided to call Eastport Animal Hospital, and we are absolutely blown away by the care, patience, positivity, and professionalism they showed us. Everyone was so kind to us and Dr. Hultberg explained treatment options, gave us advice, and she didn't rush things with Enzo.We could see the main goal was to keep the experience positive for Enzo, which no other vet ever cared about.Enzo was too nervous to go inside for his appointment, so Dr. Hultberg and her team worked with Enzo in the parking lot. They were able to give him vaccines and do blood work. It was so positive for Enzo and he loves them all. I was emotional from the kindness and patience they showed us, which in our experience is so rare.We are so amazed and grateful. I never expected such exceptional care. They treated Enzo with such love. I'm just so happy we found a doctor and team that cares. And we finally have peace of mind that Enzo will have the preventative care that he needs to have a long and happy life. Thank you so very much from our family and Enzo.
Oct 13, 2023 · Jennifer GallettaI've been taking my pets here for many years. Dr. Duffy and Dr. Howard have always gone above and beyond for me and the rest of the staff are wonderful. I highly recommend them.
Apr 13, 2023 · DerekJust had to put down my dog of 6 years with them. Over 6 years, they helped me become a better dog owner. They got me through when he decided to eat the couch. They made sure he lived his healthiest life. And when he came down with hereditary hemangiosarcoma, they didnt worry about me not having money until pay day, they worried about my dog and mine wellbeing. They made sure my dog was well looked after. They didn't try to finagle bs tests and try to nickle and dime. When I'm ready to adopt another dog, I have no doubt where I'm going. Thank you for making caring for my dog so easy Dr. Howard, Dr. Duffy and company.
