El Paso Veterinary Supply Introduce
For animal owners across the vast state of Texas, whether you're a devoted pet parent, a rancher managing livestock, or a professional in the animal care industry, access to reliable veterinary supplies is paramount. While traditional veterinary clinics provide direct medical care, there's also a crucial need for a dedicated source for medications, equipment, and a wide array of products essential for maintaining animal health. In El Paso, one such establishment that has served the local community's animal health product needs is El Paso Veterinary Supply. This article aims to provide a comprehensive overview of this local business, detailing its offerings and what you, as a Texas resident, might expect when seeking their services.
El Paso Veterinary Supply, as its name suggests, primarily operates as a purveyor of veterinary products and supplies rather than a full-service veterinary clinic offering medical consultations or procedures. This distinction is important for Texas users seeking animal health solutions. While a veterinary clinic provides direct care from veterinarians, a supply store like El Paso Veterinary Supply focuses on providing the tangible items needed for animal health management—ranging from medications and diagnostic tools to grooming essentials and various animal care equipment. They serve a diverse clientele, which may include individual pet owners looking for specific over-the-counter or prescription-requiring items (with a valid prescription), as well as professional veterinarians, farmers, and ranchers who need bulk supplies for their operations. Their role is to be a consistent and accessible source for the materials that support animal well-being and productivity in the Texas region.
El Paso Veterinary Supply is located at 1517 Wyoming Ave, El Paso, TX 79902, USA. This address places the business in a central and established part of El Paso, making it relatively accessible for many residents across the city. Wyoming Avenue is a key road, providing good connectivity from various neighborhoods. For those relying on personal vehicles, the location is generally straightforward to find. However, as with many urban areas, it's always advisable for Texas users to consider current traffic conditions and parking availability in the immediate vicinity before their visit. While public transportation options in El Paso do exist, the accessibility for individuals carrying potentially bulky animal supplies might favor personal vehicle use. The convenience of a local, physical storefront for veterinary supplies is a significant advantage for El Paso residents, allowing for direct purchase and immediate access to needed products without the wait times associated with online orders.
Given its specialization as a veterinary supply provider, El Paso Veterinary Supply likely offers a broad range of products essential for animal health and care. While specific inventory can fluctuate, typical offerings at such a store would include:
- Pharmaceuticals and Medications: A selection of prescription and over-the-counter medications for various animal ailments, potentially including antibiotics, pain relief, anti-inflammatories, and parasiticides (flea, tick, and heartworm prevention). Note that prescription medications would require a valid veterinary prescription.
- Vaccines: A range of vaccines for common animal diseases, requiring proper storage and handling, and often purchased by individuals or professionals who administer them themselves or under veterinary guidance.
- Syringes and Needles: Essential for administering liquid medications and vaccines.
- Grooming Supplies: Shampoos, conditioners, brushes, clippers, and other tools for animal hygiene.
- Wound Care Products: Bandages, antiseptics, wraps, and other items for treating minor injuries.
- Diagnostic Tools: Basic diagnostic supplies, such as thermometers, stethoscopes, and perhaps some in-house testing kits for professionals.
- Veterinary Equipment: Smaller pieces of equipment for clinics or large animal operations, such as examining gloves, stethoscopes, or specific tools for minor procedures.
- Supplements and Nutritional Products: Various vitamins, supplements, and specialized diets designed for specific animal health needs.
- Farm and Livestock Supplies: Given the agricultural context of Texas, they might also carry supplies for larger animals, such as dewormers, identification tags, and specific equipment for livestock management.
Based on available public feedback, it's important for Texas users to be aware of certain aspects when considering El Paso Veterinary Supply:
- Customer Service Approach: Some reviews indicate an approach to customer service that may be perceived as less accommodating or overtly friendly, particularly towards individuals who may not be seasoned professionals in veterinary care or who are asking what might be considered "basic" questions by staff. Customers have noted instances of perceived snark or unhelpfulness.
- Targeted Clientele: It appears the business may cater predominantly to professional veterinary practices, large animal operations, or individuals with extensive knowledge of veterinary products, as suggested by comments about customers "usually know what they want" and the implication of not strictly selling to the "public." This might mean individual pet owners seeking detailed guidance or Browse without prior knowledge might find the experience less welcoming.
- Parking and Accessibility for Individuals with Special Needs: One review highlights an issue with parking, particularly regarding accommodations for handicapped individuals, and a lack of responsiveness from staff when issues were raised. This suggests potential challenges for accessibility and customer dispute resolution.
- Product Focus over Consultation: As a supply store, their primary function is the sale of products. Users should go in knowing what specific items they need, as extensive consultation or advice on animal health conditions may not be their primary service.
- Availability of Specific Items: While they stock a range of items, it's always recommended to call ahead to confirm the availability of specific products, especially specialized items like particular syringe types.

El Paso Veterinary Supply Reviews
I walked in asking a simple question."Do you have a 1mL syringe with a curved tip for giving cats medicine?"The lady scoffed and said the boxes are over there.I start reading the boxes uninstall about the amount of syringes in each box.The man then says, "It's on the box. You know people who come in here usually know what they want. Because we don't sell to the public." And they both laugh.Look, just trying to give a sick cat her meds. Didn't need the snark or the comments.Very unprofessional.

Aug 09, 2023 · Jaydanne FloresI went to pick up a medication that was ordered by my veterinarian. I was charged $81 on my business debit card for saline solution, which is a very high price. A female attendant gave me the ordered I noticed the medication was incorrect. She handed me 2 bottles of Flunixin (Banamine) I told her the order was incorrect. The female attendant was a young lady who is probably new, I’ve been there to pick up orders maybe 5-7 times if the most. I had not seen her there the previous times. She was polite but got nervous when I told her the order was wrong, she looked to the guy behind her and told him that was the only order they had for that veterinarian and what did she need to do. I truly feel sorry for this girl, I think she was afraid of him. The guy behind her was Manny Talamantes! Lol this story is about to get funny everyone! Manny Talamantes is the owner, so he said immediately when he approached me....for some unknown reason he became upset, not sure if it was because he had to refund me the $81 or he was simply having a bad day. He got up from his chair, maybe that was the reason he got upset? I don’t know?? Lol. He yelled at me, “ you don’t have to be rude to my staff! You come in here yelling and demanding” I am the owner(1st time)....But I wasn’t yelling...he was... At this point I’m confused, so I asked the lady. “Have I been rude to you? Have I disrespected you in any way?” He comes and stands right next to her, and looks at me and tells me. “ yes you have, you have been rude and you have disrespected my staff. I am the owner!” (2nd time) You are not a licensed veterinarian, are you? get out!” The poor girl put her head down, she would not make eye contact with me or answer my questions. So I turn and look at Mr. Manny who is red from his face and I literally laughed out loud, because he was so angry but I couldn’t understand why he was so angry? I grab my phone and called the veterinarian while still inside the business, I explained the incident to him over the phone. I wanted him to know what was happening because of course I would arrive without the medication because he refused to change me my order, at this time he has not refund me the $81...I’m talking on the phone and letting the vet know, when Mr. Manny became more aggressive. I’m assuming because I was explaining the situation in front of him and also addressed my confusion why he was so angry? He raises his skinny arm and points at the door (this poor guy has zero muscle) yelling “get out! Get out!” I couldn’t help but laugh. I whispered to the girl will I get a refund? She said yes, and handed me a credit card receipt for the refund. As I turned to leave I told Mr. Manny “you should know I can get Saline solution anywhere” I’m not loosing much, but you are.” He frantically starting patting on the desk, like looking for the phone. I guess he wanted to call the cops on me. I don’t know, but he did get nervous and started patting all over the desk. Mr. Manny has an issue with anger, he is very unprofessional and for some reason feels inferior, that is why he immediately and continuously addresses he is the owner. I read his other reviews, which motivated me to write this long review. He even fights prior reviews! There are 2 prior reviews which state he mentions he is the owner and he becomes aggressive or is rude. Manny I love that you rated yourself 5 stars. Lol...Now tell me that is not funny?! Who reviews his own business? That tells you a lot about Manny. We get most of our medication from NexGen Compounding.
