When evaluating a local business, especially a veterinary clinic, specific features and highlights often make it stand out. The provided customer reviews, while mixed, offer valuable insights into what clients experience at Coronado Animal Clinic.
High Level of Compassion (Positive Review): One highly positive review specifically mentions "amazing compassion for their jobs" from the first call to the visit. This indicates a genuine care for animals and their owners, which is a significant highlight for any pet care facility. This compassion fosters a sense of safety and comfort for both pets and their owners, which is paramount.
Client Comfort and Trust: The same review expresses that the client feels "safe and comfortable with" the clinic and has "found a place." This signifies a strong sense of trust and reliability, which are crucial elements in building long-term relationships with clients.
Responsive and Attentive Staff (Positive Aspect): The positive review praising "all the staff" suggests a well-coordinated team that provides attentive service from the initial contact through the visit itself.
Potential for Varied Handling Approaches (Area for Discussion): The negative review, while concerning, highlights a specific experience with restraint methods. Coronado Animal Clinic Reviews
I have to say that this vet is amazing! I have been going to another vet and was not happy. I was told about this place and I am so glad that I gave them a chance. From the first call to our visit, they have amazing compassion for their jobs. I will be taking my all of my pets to this vet and have found a place that I feel safe and comfortable with. Thank you to all the staff here.
Feb 13, 2025 · Chelsea RogersI took my 15 week old puppy in today, 12 February, for a puppy check up and for two vaccines. The vet tech restrained my puppy so aggressively that it caused my puppy to become reactive and aggressive. I asked the vet tech to change the way they were holding him and they refused. Mind you, she did this before they even began the vaccine, and indicated this is how they restrain dogs. Absolutely abhorrent and appalling. I have been to numerous vets over the years, across multiple states and have NEVER seen this type of proactive, aggressive restraint. Ever. This is a 15 week old puppy who has never shown an ounce of reactivity or aggression. I will not be returning and highly recommend you find a different vet as well. This type of behavior can cause severe anxiety in dogs as well as reactivity. And for anyone who would argue this is their way of preventing injury against themselves, in the past I had an aggressive dog (who had been previously abused) - there are other methods that do not involve this type of restraint, such as a muzzle, that are far less traumatic for the dog and equally ensure vet tech safety.
Feb 13, 2025 · Megan SmithI am devastated to write this review as I brought several of my cats here while I lived in El Paso. Specifically, I had a cat diagnosed with Stomatitis, and it was suggested to have a full mouth extraction. I pay for the full mouth extraction and receive my cat back with several teeth still in her mouth, but I trust the vet and keep giving her her immunosuppressant shot. Her condition does not improve at all. Then, I have to move out of state. I take her to another vet, and it's discovered that not only was her teeth extraction surgery totally botched, there are remnants of shards of teeth and roots in her mouth that are exposed in her gums where the Stomatitis is now heavily manifesting. She also had an ear infection, sinus infection, and several skin conditions that went unchecked by this vet.Why did I pay for the full mouth extraction if not all of the teeth would be removed? Now I have to pay over $3000 for my cat to have an ounce of relief and get her teeth properly removed. I'm seriously so disappointed as I really did love this clinic, but I just wish that my cat had been thoroughly checked and taken care of.
Mar 04, 2025 · MadisonIf you are looking for an amazing Vet with amazing staff for your fur baby look no further. Let me tell you they all will go the extra mile for your pet. Here are my experiences. Dr Freund saved my Newfies life from a spay gone wrong (Initial surgery done by different vet) he opted for exploratory surgery and fixed the issue along with supportive care (x-ray, fluids, meds ect.. ). My great Pyrenees got parvo and ended up being hospitalized for almost a week. Her WBC went too low. We were told to prepare ourselves but the staff and Dr. Freund still fought for her. She had to stay over the weekend and the vet techs Christina and Diamond worked tirelessly over the weekend constantly checking in on her Dr Freund also made some late night visits. Thanks to their dedication she recovered! I went to pick her up and the staff Valerie and Elsa were so kind and patient while I asked a million and one questions. I send everyone I know who asks me where to take their pet. The only Veterinarian we will go to. We don't even live in El Paso but the drive is worth it for the best care our fur babies could get. They are dedicated to your pet and the prices are absolutely reasonable. Thank you Coronado Animal Clinic you all are truly angels!
