For pet owners in the Long Beach, California, area, finding a veterinary clinic that feels like a trusted part of the community is a significant priority. Our pets are cherished members of the family, and we want a place where they receive not only expert medical attention but also a genuine sense of care and familiarity. The Evening Pet Clinic is a name that has been a part of the local landscape for years, serving generations of pets and their owners. As a neighborhood institution, it carries a legacy of care, and for many, it has been the consistent choice for their pet's health needs. This continuity is a valuable asset, as it allows for a long-term relationship with a clinic that understands your pet’s history and specific needs.
The transition of a long-standing practice from one veterinarian to another is a common occurrence, and it can be a source of both hope and uncertainty for loyal clients. The Evening Pet Clinic has experienced such a transition, with Dr. Hardy taking over from the previous veterinarian, Dr. Grain. For many long-term clients, this shift marks a new chapter while maintaining the clinic's core commitment to the community. A veterinary clinic's staff and their approach to patient care are what truly define the experience, and a successful transition relies on the new team's ability to uphold the values and standards that the community has come to expect. The clinic’s role is to provide a reliable space where local residents can turn for their pet's health, from routine check-ups to more urgent concerns.

Having a clinic that is easily accessible can make a world of difference, whether you are planning a routine appointment or rushing in during an emergency. Evening Pet Clinic is conveniently located at 6803 Cherry Ave, Long Beach, CA 90805, USA. This address places the clinic in a well-established and accessible part of the city. Cherry Avenue is a familiar thoroughfare for many in Long Beach, and the clinic's position on this street ensures that it is easy to find. This accessibility is a major benefit, as it minimizes travel time and stress for both the pet and the owner. A quick and easy trip to the vet is always preferable, especially for pets who may be anxious during car rides. They focus on providing a foundation of care that helps pets live long, healthy lives. While the specific list of services can vary, a clinic like this would typically offer a wide range of treatments and preventative measures.
The services offered would likely include:
- Wellness exams and preventative care
- Vaccinations

- Dental health services
- Diagnostic testing (including blood work and other lab services)
- Treatment for illnesses and injuries

The features and highlights of Evening Pet Clinic are best understood through the experiences of its customers, which can be both positive and negative. The clinic's legacy is a significant highlight for many, but recent changes have led to mixed reviews.
Continuity of Care: For long-term clients, the continuity from one vet to the next is a major highlight. A customer who was a client of the previous vet, Dr. Grain, expressed being "pleasantly surprised" with the new vet, Dr. Hardy. This shows that for some, the transition has been successful, and the clinic continues to provide a level of care that meets their expectations.
Personalized Treatment Plans: For some clients, the new vet has been a positive change, suggesting that they are able to provide effective care for their pets. This indicates a commitment to professional veterinary medicine.
However, it is also important to acknowledge the negative feedback, which highlights a different experience. A customer who had been a client for "so many years" expressed disappointment with the "new vet," citing a lack of empathy and a different approach to care. This review details a frustrating experience where the pet owner felt ignored and pressured into expensive procedures, ultimately leading to a sense of a lack of compassion. This type of feedback is crucial for potential clients to consider, as it points to a potential change in the clinic's culture or approach, and highlights the importance of open communication between a vet and a pet owner. A discrepancy in how a pet's temperament is handled, and a change in policy regarding owner presence during exams, can be very stressful for pet owners who are used to a different standard of care.

Evening Pet Clinic Reviews
I was w Dr Grain before he retired and had Dr Hardy for an emergency years before he took over Dr Grain’s practice! I was pleasantly surprised and have stayed on w my new pup!
Jan 12, 2025 · Tru BluVery disappointed, I’ve tooken all my animals here and the new vet seems so not like his job , compared to the previous vet that’s full of life and so welcoming. I took my cat in because she wasn’t feeling well and the past times I’ve gone they’ve let me stay with her , this time with this vet they didn’t . For him to come back and tell her she’s very aggressive and the only way he would be able to take blood out was to sedate her and that would be close to 200 , I said I can hold her and he said he couldn’t have me do that when I’ve done it plenty of times and I know my cat she’d would have been ok . Basically said he couldn’t help me . When you animal is sick you go to these people to try to make things better and all they do is put more stress on you . Horrible experience! Forsure not returning after so many years !

Jun 07, 2025 · Veronika N.I only went for a brief moment to get my dog's vaccinated. The lady at the front desk was nice. Very quick service, it didn't take even 10 min. $48 for rabies vaccine.
Feb 19, 2025 · TaniaThe people that work here including the vet, are racist. I'm white and the receptionist are Hispanic and the vet is black.Super small parking lot , receptionist with long hair just looks at you and doesn't even greet you. Then acts like some kind of queen and if you ask her where your cat is at, she says that you can listen to me and what I have to say and if you have any questions you can ask when I'm finished speaking,??After this the vet doesn't apologize or anything and says how I can go somewhere else if I'm unhappy, refuses to listen to what I have to say and tells me that I'm rude because I referred to one of his workers as this person? Crazy!Although the vet seems to know what he's doing, with that kind of treatment, I definitely don't plan on going back. Wow, too much drama. Also I got charged 72.00 for a shot and the detailed receipt doesn't even say what the injection was.
