Unparalleled Specialization: As a dedicated veterinary ophthalmology clinic, they possess a depth of knowledge and specialized equipment that general vets do not, making them the go-to for complex eye conditions and traumatic injuries.
Exceptional Expertise of Dr. Fahrer: Dr. Fahrer is lauded as "truly outstanding," "remarkable," and "heaven sent." She is noted for her attentive nature, clear communication, providing comprehensive options (pros, cons, aftercare), and offering her professional opinion on the best course of action. Her ability to handle intense surgeries, like globe proptosis, with successful outcomes is highly praised.
Proactive and Compassionate Follow-Up: A major highlight is the team's unwavering support during recovery. They "answered countless phone calls, responded to emails, made time for check ups and went out of their way to check in." This level of ongoing support, even checking on a pet's recovery at home and offering additional, personalized teaching (like how to apply eye ointment to sutures), showcases their profound care beyond the clinic walls.
Empathy and Genuine Care: Customers repeatedly emphasize that the team "cared about our pup AND they cared about making us feel confident" and that they "cared about your animal as if it was their own." Outstanding Communication: The front desk team and nurses are described as "always so kind, communicative, and caring," consistently going "above and beyond to help us and answer questions." Dr. Fahrer also takes the time to "discuss our concerns and questions," even for those with a healthcare background themselves.

Eye Care for Animals - Culver City Reviews
If I were to go into detail about all the of the experiences that my family and I had with the team at Eye Care for Animals in Culver City and Dr. Fahrer, this review would end up being much longer than it already is likely to be. To prevent myself from writing a novel, I will try to point out a few reasons as to why this doctor and facility are truly outstanding. Our 5 month old puppy had a traumatic accident a few Saturdays ago. We rushed to Access emergency pet hospital and we were almost certain she would have to have her eye removed.Dr Fahrer was contacted and was able/willing to come in and see Ginger. After doing so, she came to see us and told us what she assessed, told us what our options were and what the pros, cons and aftercare of each option would be. She also gave us her opinion on what she believed would be the best thing to do and thank goodness we listened. She would then perform a globe proptosis surgery on Ginger and it would require about 2-3 weeks of recovery to her stitched eye.As you can imagine, we were not prepared for any of this and I was extremely nervous about my ability to property care for my pup as she recovered from a traumatic and intense surgery and I don’t think we would’ve been able to get through any of it if it hadn’t been for Dr. Fahrer and the eye care for animals team. They made it so clear that they were there to support us in any way we needed. They answered countless phone calls, responded to emails, made time for check ups and went out of their way to check in with us while Ginger was recovering. They actually cared about our pup AND they cared about making us feel confident in the care that we were giving to her when she was recovering at home. Dr. Fahrer even took the time to see me 3 days after the surgery to teach me how to put an eye ointment onto her sutures because I was so worried that I wasn’t doing it correctly! She responded to emails with photos that I sent her to reassure me that everything was fine. She didn’t have to do any of this! The front desk team and the nurses were always so kind, communicative, and caring and whether it was over the phone on in person, they always went above and beyond to help us and answer questions. To say that Dr. Fahrer and the Eye Care for Animals team is empathetic, caring, and remarkable at what they do is an understatement. There really aren’t any words to describe how exceptional their care and service is. They are heaven sent in every way and we couldn’t be any more grateful for them. In a time full of so many unknowns, this is the team you want to see. This is a long review but I felt that it was necessary to share since I find it very difficult to find a veterinarian/specialist/emergency animal hospital that you can rely on or one that doesn’t make you feel like you and your pet are just another customer. Dr Fahrer and the team make you feel like “you’re in it together” and as if they care about your animal as if it was their own (I honestly feel like we received better care from them than I do from my own doctors).Thank you to Eye Care for Animals and Dr. Fahrer! We are forever grateful!
Apr 07, 2025 · Audrey AlgerAwesome experience! Dr. Fahrer really took her time to discuss our concerns and questions which could have been a lot since we are in health care. Gave us different options for treatment and plan. Really appreciate it
Jun 14, 2025 · Daniel Park29 Aug 2024 review | Is this place real?! It feels like something I would've dreamed up! From the incredible customer service with every phone call, to the staff who are all so kind--you can tell they genuinely care. They make you feel like you're the only customer in the world, which is impressive considering how busy they must be in Los Angeles. They even sent me a link to fill out Bella's information ahead of time, which was so helpful, sparing me the hassle of filling out forms in the waiting room.Speaking of the waiting room--talk about peaceful. They had tranquil music playing & soothing scenes on the TV; it was so pleasant & calming. They also offered coffee & tea, if that's your thing. & Dr. Kristin Fahrer --she's usually booked up -- for a reason. She's out-of-this-world amazing. I feel bad I didn't get everyone's name because every single person who helped me was incredibly patient & kind. It almost doesn't seem real, but it is--it's authentic. You feel like you're at home with friends & family. I can't explain it, but I've never been to an animal care place like this. Bella has been around the world--no joke--to every hospital, ER, & clinic you can think of. She's 13, almost 14, & has seen her fair share of doctors, but the attention to detail, the patience, the compassion, the knowledge, the impeccable communication, & the ease of everything from scheduling to picking Bella up after her procedure--I'm just blown away. I am so grateful to them. Now for the logistics: If you're going there for the first time, you'll see parking off Duquesne Ave. That's for the Animal Emergency Room. If you need to park there quickly & run your pet in, then move your car, I'm sure that's fine. But there's much more parking on the rooftop, which you'll access from Jefferson Blvd. If you're heading N on Jefferson blvd, you'll go past Duquesne Ave & make a quick left up the ramp to roof parking. If you're heading S on Jefferson blvd, you'll make a right up the ramp to roof parking just before Duquesne Ave.If you park on the roof, there are stairs to come down--there's probably an elevator too, though I'm not 100% sure. The stairs will take you right next to the ER entrance, so head to the door closest or 2nd closest to Duquesne Ave. Both of these doors lead to Eye Care for Animals. If you accidentally enter an area labeled "Cancer," just head out & go to your right. Ignore the "You Are Here" symbols on Apple Maps & Google Maps--they don't have the correct spot for the entrance to Eye Care for Animals. If you're standing on Duquesne Ave & see a yellow, white, & red squiggly-looking concrete statue ahead of you, Eye Care for Animals will be on your left. Go to the door that's closest or 2nd closest to Duquesne Ave.25 sept 2024 update review | I still feel the same way with everything I described up above with 29 Aug 2024 review as we have had 2 follow ups since Bella's initial surgery 29 Aug 2029 and the incredible customer service has been consistently amazing every single time. Additionally, I wanted to come on here and post a before and after photo just to show how well Bella's eye has been healing. It's unreal. And what the picture doesn't capture is how much happier Bella is than before. She's not pawing at her eye. She doesn't seem like she's in any discomfort and while still healing, Bella is like a new dog -- just like so much better! For example, before she had a really hard time eating because she couldn't see her food properly it was probably very distorted and she would like jump and try to position her body to look at the food and she just couldn't & now she's eating a lot better.
Sep 26, 2024 · ALEXANDRIA ALIKA PROVENGHIFabulous caring doctor! Dr. Fahrer is smart, kind and has excellent communication. She was careful to explain the process and treatment options for our Golden Retriever who has glaucoma. After the surgery I was delighted to receive a phone call that evening from Dr. Fahrer — that’s great old school patient care. The entire staff at the Culver City office is super nice and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND them! And, best of all, the surgery was a complete success and Libby is doing great playing with her sister!
