I took my Rottweiler litter in to get their tails docked and dew claws removed. When I called I asked about tail docking and was given a price.. I didn't mention dew claws because usually they are done together. Anyway, the rate given was low so I took them in. Dew claws weren't included and for some reason was actually more than the tail docking. I typically pay around $65 per pup for both, but paid around $85 here. Other than the pricing seemed a bit high (took less than 45 minutes), the staff was very nice and all the pups are fine. Would recommend and would use again if the clinic I usually go to doesn't have availability. - America's Choice BG

  • Efficiency for Specific Procedures: For routine procedures such as tail docking and dew claw removal, the service can be relatively quick, as one client reported it "took less than 45 minutes." This efficiency can be a desirable trait for owners seeking prompt completion of these types of services.
  • Willingness to Handle Specific Requests: The clinic was willing to perform procedures like tail docking and dew claw removal, which are specialized early-life surgeries. This indicates their capacity to accommodate particular requests for breeders or owners of specific breeds requiring these interventions.
  • Option for Mobile Visits (Historically): While the outcome was unfortunate in one specific case, the fact that the clinic "graciously agreed to come to us for an initial 'office visit'" for a large dog suggests they may, at times, offer mobile visit options, which could be a significant convenience for owners of large or anxious pets. However, the consistency and reliability of this service, along with the associated outcomes, should be thoroughly discussed and understood by potential clients based on the given review.

It is important for pet owners in Ohio to consider all aspects of the provided feedback when evaluating the suitability of Flint Animal Hospital/Driving Park Animal Hospital for their pet's needs, particularly for sensitive or complex cases. While some highlights point to positive interactions and efficient services for routine procedures, detailed communication about expectations and care plans is always advisable.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals

For pet owners in Ohio, particularly those residing in Columbus and its surrounding areas, Flint Animal Hospital/Driving Park Animal Hospital serves as a local option for general veterinary care. Its suitability for locals can be considered for specific, routine procedures, while for more complex or sensitive cases, careful consideration and direct communication are paramount.

This aspect of customer service is often a key factor for local residents choosing a healthcare provider.

However, it is crucial for Ohio locals to weigh all available information. While the clinic may be suitable for certain routine and quick surgical procedures, the provided reviews also suggest that clear, upfront communication regarding pricing for all services (especially for procedures often bundled, like tail docking and dew claws) and detailed discussion about patient care plans, particularly for animals with specific needs or for complex treatments, is highly advisable. The unfortunate outcome described in one review, coupled with communication challenges, underscores the importance of thorough initial conversations and ensuring all expectations are mutually understood. For pet owners in Ohio prioritizing a local, friendly facility for basic care and specific minor surgeries, Flint Animal Hospital/Driving Park Animal Hospital could be a consideration.
