So pleased with all of my experiences at this veterinarian office. Dr. Scott Newman (Jr.) has been seeing my dogs each and every time we have an appointment and he always goes above and beyond to show each one of them compassion and care. The visits are always very pleasant and you can really tell that the entire staff truly cares about the well being of your pets. Thank you so much for all that you do and for continuing to provide the upmost care for my fur babies!
Sep 06, 2024 · Christina WestermeyerWe can’t say enough kind words for the staff at Georgetown. We’ve come in for routine and emergency visits. They always are well educated, compassionate and patient with us. They treat my animals so well. They truly understand that our pets are our family. They handle difficult diagnosis with so much caring and compassion while explaining options and next steps in a way we can understand. They are honest and I very much appreciate everyone here.
Apr 13, 2023 · Jill MarieMy family has been coming to Georgetown Animal Clinic for years and we will not be attending anymore after our last experience. My dog was brought in for a stomach virus and bad arthritis in his legs. They gave us an antibiotic and highly recommended that we come back in a couple days to give my dog a new arthritis shot called Librela. The vet didn’t inform us of the side effects and did not look at my dogs medical history for this shot. It took a quick google search for me to find out immediately my dog was not suitable for this shot as it is not to be used on dogs with torn muscles/ligaments as well as spine issues. My dog has all of the above. As soon as he was brought home from the vet he was vomiting profusely and whining in pain and beginning to seize. My mom drove back to the vet trying to get help, terrified that our dog was going to die, as that is a symptom of this injection. There has been multiple cases that have reported sudden death to dogs after this shot. This location was about to close and kept telling my mother to leave and refused to help us in this time of need because they wanted to go home. My whole family cried and prayed over my dog the rest of the night and not an ounce of empathy was shown by the veterinarians. I am writing this to protect future patients from getting this injection because you would always think that your vet recommends safe options for your pets. My dog was not a suitable candidate for this injection due to his torn ligaments, spine issues, and stomach virus going on at the time. Please take the time to research your patients and care about the lives that are in your hands. This is a response to the owner since google doesn’t allow me to respond to your message.I never gave you guys 4 stars so don’t know where you’re getting that incorrect information or if you’re just trying to make yourself look good. The reason for the 1 star review is not because you asked us to leave, but if you read my review you would know I gave the 1 star review because of the whole experience I detailed to you. I explained in my review that your staff was unhelpful and unkind to my mother in a time of need where my dog could’ve died because of an injection you guys gave him. Your staff was trying to close up and get home which is understandable, but not when my dog is in the middle of a horrible reaction due to something you guys just gave him. It is disappointing that you are trying to blame this reaction on his past medical history. He was doing much better thanks to the antibiotic you guys gave him that week and right when he got home from getting this shot, he started profusely vomiting, seizing and crying in pain which you should know are all negative symptoms of the librela injection. As I said in my previous review, he has bad spine issues and torn ligaments which does not make him a suitable candidate for librela even though he has osteoarthritis and therefore should’ve never been recommended to him. He has had a few stomach virus’s but never had any problems with “chronic vomiting” as I would know because I have lived with him all my life. As for the handouts you are referring to, they were given to my mother after my dog got the injection when she went back to the vet to get help. She was given nothing beforehand. I hope you guys learn to accept accountability for your actions instead of trying to make yourself look good, it is truly disappointing.
Feb 01, 2025 · Sarah DemerDr. Sorge saw our cat Jack. She was wonderful, and from his behavior, I'm sure Jack thought so too! We've been taking our pets to Georgetown for years, and we're glad to see the doctors and staff continuing their tradition of excellent care.
Apr 27, 2024 · Eleanor StilwellWe recently adopted our fourth puppy. We have taken all three of our previous pups to Georgetown and have been nothing but pleased with the services that they provide. We usually see Dr. Harris who is extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to explain what is going on with the dog and offers suggestions for keeping our dog in the best of health.Scheduling is easy through the super friendly and supportive staff. Always greeted as family when visiting. Highly recommend for all your pets needs.
