- Holistic Consultations: Comprehensive assessments that consider the pet's entire lifestyle, diet, environment, emotional state, and medical history to develop an individualized treatment plan. This goes beyond a standard physical exam.
- Veterinary Acupuncture: As a CVA, Dr. Fallek utilizes acupuncture to help alleviate pain, reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and stimulate the body's natural healing mechanisms for various conditions, including musculoskeletal issues, neurological disorders, and chronic pain.
- Herbal Medicine: The use of specific herbs and botanical remedies to address a wide array of health issues, promoting balance and healing within the pet's body. These formulations are often customized for individual needs.
- Homeopathy: Treatment involving highly diluted substances that aim to stimulate the body's self-healing responses, used for both acute and chronic conditions, often targeting the pet's unique symptom presentation.
- Nutritional Guidance: Personalized dietary recommendations focusing on natural, whole foods, and supplements to support overall health, address specific ailments, and boost the immune system.
- Lifestyle Recommendations: Advice on exercise, environmental enrichment, and stress reduction techniques to improve a pet's quality of life and prevent illness.

The aim is to "cure the problem without killing the organs," emphasizing gentle, natural interventions that work with the body.
Dr. Marcie Fallek, DVM, CVA, offers several distinguishing features and highlights that make her holistic veterinary practice a unique option for New York City pet owners.
- Specialization in Holistic and Integrative Medicine: The primary highlight is the dedicated focus on holistic and integrative veterinary care. This means a focus on natural healing modalities like acupuncture, herbal medicine, and homeopathy, which are not typically the primary focus of conventional clinics. This approach aims to address underlying imbalances rather than just suppressing symptoms.
- Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA): Dr. Fallek’s certification in veterinary acupuncture signifies specialized training and expertise in this ancient healing art, providing a powerful tool for pain management, chronic conditions, and neurological support.
- Emphasis on Natural Healing: The core philosophy revolves around working with the pet's body to heal itself. This often means less reliance on pharmaceutical drugs where natural alternatives can be effective, which appeals to owners seeking gentler treatments.
- Personalized Treatment Plans: Holistic veterinary care often involves highly individualized treatment plans tailored to each pet's unique constitution, specific health challenges, and lifestyle, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
- Focus on Root Cause: A key aspect of holistic medicine is the endeavor to identify and treat the root cause of an illness, rather than just managing symptoms. This can lead to more sustainable health improvements for pets with chronic conditions.
- Potential for "Organ-Friendly" Treatments: As indicated by some long-term clients, the holistic approach aims to "cure the problem without killing the organs," suggesting a focus on treatments that are gentle on a pet's internal systems, particularly beneficial for aging animals or those with sensitive conditions.
- Long-Term Client Relationships: The practice has clients who have relied on Dr. Fallek's expertise for many years, suggesting a level of trust and satisfaction with her long-term treatment strategies, particularly for aging pets who benefit from her specialized care.
It is important for prospective clients to understand that a holistic approach may differ significantly from conventional veterinary care in terms of diagnostic methods and treatment timelines. Holistic Vet, Dr. Marcie Fallek, DVM, CVA Reviews
I have waited years to leave this review because I do not like to leave negative reviews. Fallek is the worst doctor and the most expensive. Period. My dog had an ear infection in 2019 and was shaking his head. When I came to see Dr Fallek, she did NOT look in his ears or even examine him. She gave me drops and pellets. His ears got so bad he was walking with a titled head. Black junk was running out of his ears (she told me not to touch them, that the ears were “self cleaning”) After a month of this we could not stand his suffering. Another vet said the there were deep mats in each ear. And the wax was building up around it. The ears could not breathe. She did not pluck them but carefully cut out the mats showing me how to do it and wiped out the black gunk. Within 2 days my dog was fine. He has narrow ear canals and just needs to be carefully tended to.
Jun 04, 2025 · SheilaShe has been my vet for years. Her holistic approach has always proven to be humane and the best treatment for my dogs. "She cures the problem without killing the organs". My aging dogs always benefit from her expertise
Jan 17, 2025 · Laverne CampbellDr Fallek helped us when our dog Delilah was diagnosed with a brain tumor. We were told she had 3-6 months to live but we managed to extend her life a year after diagnosis. Unfortunately, she lost her battle last April 15, 2021 and we had to euthanize her. Dr Fallek was always responsive to our calls when we needed assistance. We lived in Ottawa, Ontario at the time and moved to Vancouver, Washington through her treatment and Dr Fallek still worked with us even with the time difference. Thanks to Dr Fallek, Delilah was able to spend her last few months in her birth state.
Oct 25, 2021 · redorangeNice lady, but sadly did not work for us. Incredibly expensive. You pay over $1k initially but then $10 a minute with a minimum of $50 each call and then you spend most of that time repeating info from previous calls. We gave it a good bit of time, but had to cut our losses.
Mar 09, 2025 · Toni DietrichI cannot say enough good things about Marcie Fallek. 5 stars are simply not enough!I have a rescue dog who always had issues with his stomach and anxiety. He then developed arthritis and then very suddenly was unable to walk due to IVDD. I was a wreck and felt helpless and frustrated with our previous vet as the treatments just seemed to make my dog worse.I found Marcie and consider myself lucky that she had time to see me in the first place. Her treatment style is thorough, efficient and most importantly- effective. After one session, my dog showed improvement, and by the 8th session he was healed!Marcie then helped with my dogs stomach and anxiety issues and he is now better than ever, at the age of 11!Holistic pet care is the only treatment that solves the underlying problem. It is gentle and it works!Marcie is incredibly talented and astute with her approach, and I wish that every animal could be taken care of by her. She is a miracle worker. Thank you Marcie for helping us.
