★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- Here’s the thing… I have been a bad dog mom and haven’t taken my rescue dog to the vet since I’ve had him (3 years) because I didn’t want to be charged for a bunch of unnecessary expenses when I could just get him vaxxed at the low cost clinics. BUT, my boy really needed his anal glands expressed and the groomer didn’t do it, so I didn’t really have a choice and figured it was probably time to take him in anyway. Hometown is one of the closest vets to me, so I compared them to another one nearby. Hometown has a membership plan that is really a great deal and is very affordable for me. It’s like $16/mo and I only paid $98 today for an exam, fecal testing, anal glands and nail trim, when my original total would’ve been $216. I never felt pressured into paying for something I didn’t want/need or ask for. I only paid for what I needed done. Dr. Carmichael did my dog’s exam with him, on the floor, so he mostly just thought he was getting extra attention. I was overall very happy with our experience and believe I choice the right vet. - We have been going to Hometown and seeing Dr. Seal for almost a year now. We have had the absolute best experience with Dr. Seal and the rest of the staff. They are extremely communicative, kind and thorough. They have taken their time and really gotten to know our pets, look into issues and provide lots of information. I originally found Hometown after a terrible and shocking diagnosis for my border collie and came to Dr. Seal for a second opinion. She got us in quickly, listened to my concerns and checked out my dog thoroughly. She immediately knew what was actually going on, recommended an appropriate treatment plan and had my Lucy on the road to healing. My Lu is now feeling amazing and totally fine, with plenty of life left in her. I am forever grateful for Dr. Seal and the Hometown team and their treatment in a really stressful situation. They handled us with kindness, care and took their time to ensure the diagnosis was correct, which I so appreciate. We are so sad to move and not be able to continue care. Thanks so much for all you’ve done!! September 06 · Lauren Lindsay
- Absolutely amazing service, you can tell these folks really care about animals. I took my staffie in due to some stomach issues. They addressed my concerns and didn't judge my anxiety. The appointment and exam thorough, yet reasonably quick. My fat headed chonk absolutely loved the staff which is the first indication of their excellence. The smiles and attention paid by all the staff made him so happy! What really impressed me was the follow up, and following through on the promised follow up. To many times I've been told "no news is good news". heck no not here. Communication is a clinch pin at hometown Veterinary hospital! If you are looking for a great, honest, caring Veterinarian look no further!!!! August 21 · Bruce B.
- Dr. Messe was a great and informative vet. My cat got 3 shots and explained the possible side effects that she may have had for a short time.(She's the crazy tortoise shell on top of the box) May 27 · Lucretia Halfacre
- I had an emergency situation and they found a way to work me in on a fully booked schedule. The entire staff cares. As I was leaving with my dog, another customer came in to pick up the cremation remains of his dog and the staff shared that gentleman's pain. They all were so sympathetic that it literally made me cry. Finding a company that has extraordinary customer service on top of the compassion is bar none! They are not the cheapest in town, but they provide estimates and work with your budget. I am forever grateful. August 27 · Carolyn
