Their philosophy emphasizes not just treating illness, but also proactively working to prevent disease and enhance the quality of life for pets throughout all stages of their lives. This includes a strong focus on annual examinations and personalized wellness plans, reflecting a commitment to long-term health for Seattle's beloved animals.
A standout aspect of the clinic, as highlighted by numerous positive reviews, is the incredibly gentle and patient approach of its staff and veterinarians. One grateful pet parent shared how Dr. Galloway and his assistant were "so gentle" with their fear-averse cat, Mr. Mojito, who "didn’t even make a peep during his exam or vaccines." This level of understanding and skill in handling anxious pets is invaluable for creating a positive veterinary experience, minimizing stress for both the animal and the owner. The front desk staff are also consistently praised for being "so kind and welcoming," and doctors and techs are noted for being "knowledgeable and helpful."
However, like any long-standing practice, recent feedback suggests evolving experiences. While the in-person care and compassion remain highly lauded, some clients who have returned after an absence have noted changes in service standards, particularly regarding follow-up communication and pricing. One long-term client expressed significant frustration with a "lack of followup calls or information after my appointments," and delays in receiving lab results, despite acknowledging the staff's friendly demeanor in person. This feedback underscores the importance of clear, consistent communication for overall client satisfaction, even when the hands-on care is exceptional. For Seattle pet owners, choosing a clinic often involves balancing high-quality medical treatment with efficient and transparent administrative support.

Lake Union Veterinary Clinic Reviews
I took my cat, Mr. Mojito, here to establish care and get his annual check up. The front desk staff were so kind and welcoming to him and myself. My cat has a lot of fear going to the vet and typically does not do well with being touched below his neck. However, Dr. Galloway and his assistant were so gentle with him he didn’t even make a peep during his exam or vaccines. It was an overall great experience for my cat and I am so grateful to have found a new veterinarian for him. Highly recommend!
Mar 21, 2024 · Laura AllenDONT COME TO THIS VET!I've been using this vet since I moved to Seattle in 2016. They used to be amazing. Id get text reminders before appointments, followup calls after just to make sure nothings changed with my pets. I had zero issues coming here till I moved away in 2021. I moved away for 3 years and with my return to Seattle and had zero questions about who my vet would be. This has turned out to be a huge mistake on my part. The service I've come to expect from SLUV has not been the same. The price has gone up considerably in my 3 years away. That wouldn't be that bad if the service was still at the same standard. The staff is friendly in person and i have zero issues face to face. Its the lack of followup calls or information after my appointments I'm haveing major issues with. I've had to call for updates several days after my pets appointments, normally they'dbe calling me. Going in for labs and having to call for the results over a week later is outrageous. I'm still currently waiting for results from my pets labs from last week. Ive called 3 times without a single call back. If you're the type of person thats okay with being forgotten after you spend hundreds of dollars just to be ghosted this is the place for you.DON'T COME TO THIS VET!
Jun 24, 2025 · Tyler Leslie (Mid-Mo-Cub)Dr. Chan is the best. She’s been so helpful as our family navigates life with our senior pup. She always goes above and beyond with thoughtful recommendations and answers to our questions and the great team at the front desk has been amazing helping to fill her medications as we travel. We love Lake Union Vet ❤️
Jul 02, 2024 · Megan VincentBeen going here for 9 years and they take great care of Abby and Lincoln and that is really the only thing that matters! Referrals to specialists when needed and terrific follow up. Lots of treats and loves when we go!
Oct 15, 2024 · shannon HugginsHaving visited here 3+ times, I wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend this clinic to any pet owners - here's why:1. Poor communication: the vet asked me to not feed my cat (due to puking) before x-ray results came back, but didn't clearly explain why. When I asked multiple times, I couldn't get a reasonable explanation except "your cat will be fine" - especially because there will be a natural fasting overnight & no further exam requiring fasting is scheduled.2. Lack of attention to detail: the clinic never proactively sends full notes for insurance reimbursement purposes and is slow to respond (often requires multiple follow-ups). This has led to my insurance claim worth hundreds of dollars getting denied due to lack of evidence.3. Questionable treatment: the clinic is quick to recommend expensive priority x-ray exams but didn't think of prescribing anti-puking meds, which is what my vet in other cities recommended. I wonder why.4. Inconsistent service: I often have to wait 10+ mins (one time 30+ mins) after my appointment start time. I am curious what's the point of scheduling an appointment if you cannot be on time?5. Expensive: from visit fee to x-ray exams to prescriptions, everything here is expensive.
