- Communication: Feedback suggests that communication practices, particularly regarding policy changes and wait times, may vary. It is advisable to confirm details and expected waiting periods upfront, especially for non-emergency visits.
- Transparency: Instances of concerns regarding the clarity of information, such as medication expiration dates, have been noted. Pet owners are encouraged to ask questions and double-check any details relevant to their pet's care and medication.

Urban Animal Reviews
The staff were very kind, but the overall experience was disappointing due to poor communication and lack of transparency. They recently changed their policy from accepting walk-ins to requiring appointments, but never sent an email or any kind of notification to inform clients about this change. We specifically asked if it was better to come back another day, since we were just there for routine vaccinations—nothing urgent—but they told us to wait, estimating 20–30 minutes. That wait turned into over an hour and a half, and we ultimately left without being seen.It would have been more respectful of our time to simply let us know upfront that we should return another day, especially since this was not an emergency visit. We ended up wasting two hours for nothing. Also worth mentioning: on our last visit, they sold us deworming tablets with an expiration label that had been overwritten to show July 2026. Fortunately, I double-checked and found that the actual expiry date was July 2025. I was planning to report this during today’s visit, but since I won’t be returning, I’d rather share this here to help other dog families be aware. There are many other vets in the area with great reviews and, hopefully, better communication and attention to detail.
Jun 05, 2025 · Marian MonacoThey did not access my puppy properly, and kept trying to pass off these episodes he kept having, as being either “Narcoleptic” and when I argued that was not the issue; I was then told that he was probably “Epileptic”. I again argued that was not the case…I also asked for a second opinion, and the “Vet” looked offended by my request. To shorten the story up they just took out money also some donated money, and sent us home with “Gabapentin” and told us they couldn’t get a blood draw. Then I realized that my poor little puppy who was yelping in the worst cry I have ever heard from an animal. At the end of the day we’re out of our funds, and my puppy still isn’t in good health. I will attach photos and videos so you can get a better picture.
Mar 11, 2025 · Wendy HansenThank you Vet Allison for taking care of my lil dude! I walked in this morning thinking I was going to lose my cat, but he's home happy and purring just a few hours later. Excellent treatment and work as usual from the rest of the staff at Urban.
Jun 11, 2025 · Ben GradUrban Animal, and specifically, Dr. Peterson are the absolute best. Dr. Peterson is deeply compassionate and offered sound advice and care for our severely and chronically ill puppy. Our dog, Ailish only lived for 4 years and during that time Dr. Peterson was always able to help us to manage Ailish’s condition as best as was possible. We had to, in the end make a decision to let Ailish go and looked to Urban Animal to help us with this sad process. On that last day everyone at UA was kind and offered Ailish the care and dignity she deserved. Dr. Peterson was there to help her with this transition. We are very very grateful.
Mar 23, 2025 · deb vilhauerI have been bringing my senior dog here since I moved to Seattle two years ago. Because of my dog's age I have been there over 20 times in that short time span, so I have a fair amount of experience with the practice. My dog, and I, have always been treated conscientiously and well.A few weeks ago he had to be put to sleep (he was 14.5) and the staff was compassionate, both to him and with me.As to the complaints about having to wait, it is a rare and so busy walk-in practice. In other words, first come first served. I always arrived about 1/2 hour before they opened and my wait times were then often either non-existent or very short. Try and get an appointment at any vet service in Seattle and it you will find it to be at least a few days if not a week or more.
