Lexington Veterinary Rehabilitation Introduce
In Kentucky, our pets are more than just animals; they are cherished family members. When they face a significant injury, a post-surgical recovery, or a chronic condition that impacts their mobility, finding a specialized veterinary service is essential. Lexington Veterinary Rehabilitation (LVR), led by the compassionate and expert Dr. Alford, is a beacon of hope for pet owners throughout the region. Unlike a general practice, LVR focuses on a niche but critical area of pet health: rehabilitation. They provide a vital resource for pets who have lost mobility due to injury, age, or illness, and their mission is to restore comfort, function, and a high quality of life. The stories from grateful pet parents highlight a team that goes above and beyond, transforming what seems like a bleak prognosis into a hopeful and successful recovery journey.
The philosophy at LVR is centered on personalized, holistic, and evidence-based care. They understand that a pet's recovery is not a one-size-fits-all process. The team, including Dr. Alford, Jesse, Ashlee, and Kaylee, works together to create a customized treatment plan for each animal. This approach is evident in the story of Colonel, a Labrador who suffered from a herniated disc and paralyzed hind legs. The family was devastated, but after finding LVR, they saw a remarkable turnaround. The combination of various therapies, including hyperbaric chamber sessions, water treadmill workouts, and laser therapy, brought him back to his favorite activity: walking. This level of personalized attention and multi-modal therapy is a cornerstone of LVR's success and is a clear indicator of their dedication. They don’t just treat the ailment; they treat the whole animal, considering their comfort, emotional well-being, and overall quality of life.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I cannot express enough how truly incredible Dr. Alford and her entire team at LVR are! After our Labrador, Colonel, suffered a herniated disc that left him with paralyzed back legs, we were devastated and unsure of what the future would hold. We rushed him in for an emergency hemilaminectomy with a prognosis that wasn’t very promising. Thankfully, a coworker recommended Lex Vet Rehab, and choosing them was the best decision we’ve ever made. From day one, Dr. Alford, Jesse, Ashlee, and Kaylee have gone above and beyond to ensure Colonel’s recovery and quality of life. The combination of hyperbaric chamber, water treadmill sessions, laser therapy, and gym workouts has worked wonders—he’s now back to enjoying his favorite thing - WALKS! And we could not be more grateful.Colonel looks forward to every visit with his friends (and their liver treats!) as do I! I am forever grateful to Lex Vet Rehab for the amazing care and love they've shown our big boy. We feel so incredibly fortunate to have found such an exceptional team. Our boy is lucky to have you, and we are too. Thank you, Lex Vet Rehab, for everything! 🐾💙
March 21 · Jessica PingI've only been to a few sessions with the Lexington Veterinary Rehabilitation center and I can say, without a doubt, that there is no place like it in town. It's evident that everyone at the practice cares deeply for every animal that comes into the office. I've never felt so welcomed and like my dog was in the safest hands possible. My dog, Peyton, is the light of my life so I'm always skeptical about taking him to new places but they have gone out of their way to make us all feel comfortable, safe and informed. Dr. Alford is truly amazing, so knowledgeable and really looks at the whole picture; I'm so grateful for her and the staff at LVR just after a few sessions.
August 13 · Chase WaskeyWhen Dr. Alford diagnosed our big dog, Sara, with torn ligaments in both back legs, she recommended physical therapy over surgery. So Sara began therapy with Jessie as her therapist. It was amazing to watch her progress from week to week. It was the best decision! She has now recovered and went from not wanting to stand or walk to being the carefree happy dog we knew. Than you Dr. Alford, Jessie, and all of your caring staff for treating Sara, my husband and me, with such wonderful care. I would recommend Lexington Veterinary Rehabilitation to all for physical therapy for their fur babies experiencing mobility problems.
August 19 · Mary BernhardtMy Rhodesian Ridgeback injured his back. He couldn’t sleep at night. Rehab here fixed his back and is pain free without medicine.
October 04 · Justin JettDr Alford is as good as it gets. She and the team were always kind and professional, and my dog has a new lease on life. They taught me how to do daily stretches with him so that I could do PT at home. Can’t give enough stars.
