Choosing a veterinarian is a critical decision, and the feedback from the community provides invaluable insight into the kind of practice McKenna's Veterinary Services is. The enthusiastic review from the owner of "Albert the Ox" perfectly captures the essence of this clinic. The owner, a "nervous Nelly," was amazed by the clinic's ability to safely accommodate a giant pet ox for a hoof trimming. The state-of-the-art facilities, including safe calming chutes, and the comforting demeanor of Dr. McKenna and his entire staff turned a stressful experience into a positive one. This story is a powerful testament to the clinic’s specialized expertise, its professional yet friendly approach, and its genuine love for all animals, regardless of their size. The review from the client who was dropped without notice expresses frustration and a feeling of being disrespected. While this is a serious issue for the client, it is crucial for potential customers to weigh all available information. The overwhelming positive feedback, with multiple clients praising the staff's professionalism, the quality of care for both large and small animals, and the clinic's long-standing service to the community, paints a picture of a dedicated and highly competent practice.
The clinic's mission to treat every animal "like they are my own," as stated by Dr. McKenna, and their long-standing history of serving the community since 1997, including rebuilding after a devastating fire, demonstrates a profound commitment. This level of dedication, combined with a comprehensive suite of services that includes both routine care and emergency services for small and large animals, makes McKenna's Veterinary Services a very worthy choice for anyone in the Low Point area. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Holy Guacamole! What a great vet visit! I have a giant pet ox and finding someone that has the safe, comfortable and large enough facility to accommodate Albert the Ox for his hoof trimming and vaccines was hard to find. Dr. McKenna and the entire staff were a complete delight and calmed my worries! (I was a nervous Nelly) Albert and I had the best time, learned so much and now he's got happy feet! I can't say enough great things about the entire staff! Albert agrees he was scared but with all the safe calming chutes for him to walk through - he too learned that hood trim can be fun!
June 07 · Nancy JohnsonDo not go here. I would give a negative rating but it won't allow me to, so I gave it a 1 star rating. They drop you without any warning, the only reason I found out was my husband contacted me saying that the treasurer's office would not register our dog because her rabies shot was not updated (or I would have not known). Dr. Mc Kenna stated to me that he did NOT work for me - since I pay him then who does he work for? They are rude and very inconsiderate! We were never late on our payments, we have been perfect clients, we only went there when we needed to, but when we asked for the reason why they dropped us, they would (Dr. Mc Kenna & his employee's) would not tell me - they gave us no notice (either via phone or written) and stated that they can do whatever they wanted because they could and he hung up on me. Be warned!!
May 06 · Julie PlymI have gone to McKenna since my childhood dog. I know any animal I take to this clinic will be well cared for and quickly because they genuinely care for your pets as their own.
June 17 · Tracy SchirerDr. McKenna and his staff have always gone above and beyond for my animals.Recently, one of my 7 month old kittens got sick & stopped eating but Dr. McKenna working off site. Still, he directed the staff to run tests and forward him the results. Within a couple hours she had a diagnosis and a start on treatment. Given the severity of the illness, she likely would have died over the weekend. Now she’s back to being a loving, curious kitten. Thank you from Lilith (and Opal)!
March 25 · 4DfruitbatWe unfortunately had to put our dog down they were very good and compassionate with us and mad the transition Mich easier on us. I highly recommend them to everyone.
