MedVet Northern Virginia Reviews
Thank you so much for taking care of my baby, Popeye. I called the hospital twice for medical advice prior to arrival, and their recommendation of bringing Popeye in ASAP saved his life. We lost his brother two months on the dot the day we rushed to MedVet. I was beside myself when Popeye ended up being hospitalized and placed on guarded prognosis. With their care, Popeye recovered within the span of 12 hours. Compassionate, fair, honest, communicative team from phone operators to front desk staff and vet assistants. Incredible, seamless transition between doctors— from overnight ER doctor to morning internal medicine doctor. Both have done nothing short of providing excellent care.We left with a free, generous-sized bag of Hill’s kibble to use for Popeye’s transition back into his normal diet.My family cannot express our gratitude enough. Thank you for all of your hard work. You are deeply appreciated by your community.
Jun 29, 2025 · Khaeyo Mari Villaruel20250123 Not sure why the bad reviews. I brought my puppy here over 13 years go, and I remember having a great experience. I brought my other pup here today because the lady working the night shift as well as the lady at Internal Medicine recommended using the ER to get my pup the abdominal ultrasound in order to be seen quickly. I thought I would walk in, wait a little, get the ultrasound, and off I go with my pup. To my surprise, it was more involved than that. Dr Geoff Tucker was great. He patiently listened to the history of Lola's issues. He was very throughout... He obtained and reviewed Lola's record from her cardiologist's office and her veterinary office. He made sure that he understood Lola's situation before moving forward with recommended tests. Prior to the tests, they provided an estimates of the cost - low end as well as high end. I was required to pay the low end of the estimates. Because I was using the ER services, I had to wait in line like a human ER. I ended up leaving Lola there and was expecting to pick her up in the evening. I was surprised (again) that she was ready for pick up a couple of hours after I left MedVet! When I returned there, she along with a couple of cats were on the monitor with an update on the ER process for each of the pets. It took awhile for them to talk to me and release Lola. Everyone I encountered there was very friendly and helpful. Clay and Andrea were great, and I didn't get the names of the 2 female receptionists that I spoke to and the lady who brought Lola out. I will definitely use MetVet again, but I hope I won't need it. The facility is also very clean.
Jul 02, 2025 · Tilly LoI know a practice like an emergency vet has a lot of very hard cases walk through the door. Last night we were one of them. We had not called ahead, just showed up with a clear emergency. The staff were friendly, compassionate and professional. Our pup, a recent rescue, was seen in a timely manner, we were kept updated and once they had a clear idea of what was going on (which wasn't easy to figure out), they went to work saving her with surgery. Less than 24 hours we have brought her home and she is on a clear path to full recovery. From the front desk, to medical professionals that worked on her, we had very skilled care. The doctor that did the surgery was amazing, she understood giant breed dogs and had a passion for solving severe cases. On what is a very hard night for a lot of pet owners, this team at MedVet in Manassas was the best of the best. We owe them a debt of gratitude.
Jan 28, 2025 · George KnaufI went here around midnight with my 14 yr old York-chon. He needed to be humanely euthanized. They were super informative and kind to my family and me as we geared up to let my pup go to the rainbow bridge. Allen passed away around 12:30AM .. Thanks MedVet for taking care of us and being respectful of my pup..
Feb 03, 2025 · Nikolaj McNeilThis updated review is for the oncology department, Dr. Boostrom, and his incredible team. If you are a patient of Dr. Boo’s, I can only assume that like me, your pet is your entire world, and I hope you’ll understand when I say that I truly feel that I owe my life to Dr. Boo.After a long battle with bladder cancer, my baby Delilah went to Heaven, but this is not meant to be a sad review—this is a review written with gratitude, love, and happiness, knowing that I got to be with my baby for 16 wonderful years on this earth, all thanks to Dr. Boo and the amazing people he works with. Each and every day I had with her was a blessing, and for a dog of her size (a 90-pound pitbull mastiff) I feel like the luckiest mom in the world.Throughout all the doctors I have encountered in my life, I have never met someone as kind, as genuine, and as selfless as Dr. Boo. I looked to him for guidance and trusted him every step of the way. Delilah loved him dearly, occasionally knocking him off his feet to give her beloved Dr. Boo a boop with her nose. A dog who was once frightened of going to the vet had made a friend, who she trusted whole heartedly.During her final days, Dr. Boo said that the decision to send Delilah to Heaven was “the last gift we could give to her.” He may not have known it at the time, but those very words are what got me through the most difficult days of my life, and those are the words that I still replay to myself when I find myself feeling sad.LeAnn at the front desk—you always made our appointments such a happy place, and my mother and I felt like we were old friends of yours catching up. You bent over backwards to ensure that our sweet Delilah was comfortable during her visits, offering her a blanket, snacks, and affection. Our calls were met with happiness, making some of the more difficult times that much brighter.Zach, Sam, and Asia—Delilah loved you all dearly. You were so patient with her in her old age, even when she was feeling cranky and needed to wear her “party hat” so she didn’t get nippy. She would light up when you entered the room, and even more so when you pulled out a snack or two. She knew that being poked and prodded was done out of love, and that it only meant you would give her more snacks for being a good girl. She trusted you all so much. And for MedVet’s oncology team as a whole; thank you. Thank you for all of the emergency phone calls, weekend emails, and questions we asked throughout Delilah’s treatments that were always met with kindness. Our visits were never rushed, and we were never made to feel like our concerns were silly or unimportant. Thank you for coordinating with Delilah’s PCP, her pharmacies, and MedVet’s Emergency Department when she decided to eat her Christmas Moose toy. And thank you for the laughter and tears we shared together along the way. But mostly, thank you for making Delilah’s life better, and therefore, mine.
