★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Last evening I decided it was time to send my beloved Phoebe to Heaven. She was 14 years old & survived with cancer for 4 years. Her mast cell had unfortunately came back even after surgery. But Dr. Dawn got Phoebe on a regimen of Prednisone, Famotidine, and Benadryl. Phoebe had 4 more amazing years with me because of Dr. Dawn’s expertise & care. Our pugs are our life. We entrust Metro & Dr. Dawn with our most precious family members. There was no one else I wanted to have help me send Phoebe peacefully to Heaven. Dr. Dawn and her team were so kind & genuine. They ensured everything was peaceful. Dr. Dawn reassured me that this was the right decision for Phoebe as her cancer had spread to her gum line where she had a mass pop up almost overnight. It had begun to bleed as we were sitting there. It was clearly time. I didn’t want my best friend to suffer. She had an extremely long amazing life for a pug, and I thank Dr. Dawn and her team for being such a crucial part of giving her that opportunity. If I could have kept her young and healthy forever, I would have.Their team ensured my wishes regarding Phoebe will be followed in her afterlife care. They assured me that Phoebe will be cremated separately & that extreme care goes into ensuring each beloved pet is brought back home to their loved ones when that is the wish of the family. There is no other veterinary clinic I would trust with my babies more, than Metro & Dr. Dawn. Thank you for everything. 💜Amy Lillie
April 15 · Amy LillieYesterday we had to make the hard and painful decision to put to sleep our senior cat that we took in after my father in law had to go to a nursing home. Although we only had him for about 4 years of his adult life, we loved him for a life time and tried to give him all the love and attention that he never had before and obviously craved. Metro Animal Hospital made this a very peaceful experience. In my previous experience, my pets have gotten the medicine that just stopped their heart. They gave our cat a sedative to put him to sleep and allowed us to spend time with him and say our goodbyes before they gave him the medicine to cross the rainbow bridge. I am grateful for this compassion for us and for our cat. Thank you for the compassion and empathy you showed us and our beloved cat, Babies.
June 06 · Gina StrasserDon’t know how to read a pregnancy confirmation ultrasound. Schedule such appointments too early for it to have any value. No printout or documentation of blood tests ( in my case progesterone)Terrible “bedside manner” from the vets. Facility is clean and spacious but when I’ve added up my experiences there they come off as anti breeder.
February 25 · Jessii ZiirbelI called about every veterinarian in Wausau to get my cat in. But I got told that either they weren’t taking any new patients or I would have to wait until 4-6 weeks before I could get my cat in. Then I called Metro Animal Hospital and got seen. I wanted them to check my cat over then ask them if it was time to euthanize her or not. They were wonderful. After taking down the history the vet came in and agreed that it was time. They also organized with Peaceful Pines to have Patches cremated. We got to hold her during the whole time .Good bye Patches. Now you can once again play with Oscar and Chester on the Rainbow Bridge.😹
October 02 · Lori HansonMy precious baby girl Patches had lost weight, slept a lot and would not eat, drink or use the litter box. I called several veterinary clinics to be told I would have to wait until January 2024 . I knew she was dying and in a lot of pain. I called Metro Animal Hospital and I got in that day. It broke my heart and my mental health took a dive. The staff here are fantastic and when I get another cat I will bring it there.
