Choosing a veterinary clinic for your pet is a significant decision, and what is truly worth choosing about Midland Animal Clinic is its dual commitment to professional excellence and client partnership. The clinic's long-standing AAHA accreditation is a powerful testament to its dedication to quality. As one reviewer noted, the team at the clinic is "outstanding" and "very conscious of money and making sure things were done efficiently," a point that is often a major concern for pet owners. This client also felt that they received the "right diagnosis the first time," which speaks volumes about the diagnostic expertise available.
However, it is important to acknowledge that some clients may have different experiences, particularly during stressful and emotional times. While the clinic strives for the highest standards, communication can be challenging in complex cases. The clinic's response to these challenges is an ongoing process of improvement and accountability. The fact that the clinic has a dedicated staff, as described in many positive reviews, who are "knowledgeable," "caring," and "listen to any concerns," points to a team that is, in general, very invested in their clients' well-being. The clinic's proactive efforts to be a "Cat Friendly Practice" and to offer holistic treatments like acupuncture show a dedication to providing a wider, more compassionate range of care.
The combination of advanced diagnostic tools, emergency capabilities, and a stocked pharmacy, all under one roof, makes Midland Animal Clinic a reliable and convenient choice. The clinic's commitment to continuous care, from puppy and kitten stages to end-of-life care, ensures that they can be a consistent partner throughout your pet's life. While individual experiences may vary, the clinic's core strengths—its professionalism, expertise, and commitment to comprehensive care—make it a strong and reputable option for any pet owner in the Midland community.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My first visit to this clinic and they are outstanding. Spent as much time as needed with my dog and talking with me regarding concerns. Also, I feel that they got the right diagnosis the first time which I’ve been struggling with my previous veterinarian. This clinic was very conscious of money and making sure things were done efficiently, which I very much appreciated. I would highly recommend.
July 09 · Tricia BoermaBEWARE: 5-star ratings are deceiving in this case! Despite their high rating, my experience at this animal clinic was far from 5 stars. After 60 years of owning dogs, I will say there have been several ‘firsts’ at Midland Animal Clinic. Getting devastating, and unexpected, news that my dog has suspected heart disease, it was later confirmed that she has end stage heart disease with congestive heart failure as a major component: My dog is very sick. For starters, It took 5 days to get the doctor to call me back (after stating it would be two days), with the x-ray findings. My dog went in for a occasional cough and lethargy, so taking all of this in mentally was difficult. The vet gave me no explanations of how to best care for my sick dog, no mention of special diet, no direction or explanation of the meds she was prescribing, no prognosis offered, not even recommendations for a follow up. I was crying and upset, but I feel it would have been a responsible and appropriate thing to provide an owner with some details despite my level of grief. I got nothing. Then when I called back to get information they lied and said she tried to call me. Nope, no missed calls from the vet. I was treated so poorly. It really was devastating, and even more upsetting. We now move on to medication; there were several, SEVERAL, mistakes with meds, starting with the pharmacy, pharmacists questioning directions written, and pharmacists needing doctors clarification. In fact, after paying $200 for meds via phone to later pick up the very same day they refused to give us the meds stating I ordered them online. That never happened! It is so chaotic and frustrating with 10+ office staff that I was simply in tears trying to deal with any of them. It seemed everyone had their hands in my file (our case), but nobody knew what was going on. Everyone pointing fingers at everyone, including me! Oh my🤦🏼♀️Now, It’s been 10 + days and I still have no prescription for a heart care diet that she definitely needs. She is on a moderate amount of diuretic 2x a day, yet I can’t seem to get a low-salt prescription diet for my dog. We are home cooking her meals with no salt to support the diuretic and prevent fluid buildup in her lungs. It also took 7 days just to get her started on the cardiac meds due to the vets delay in calling me. I received an email, not a phone call, but an email from the doctor this morning addressing two of my concerns. She did say her staff spent 4-5 hours on my case and I caused issues with the medications? Ok, so I’m a little confused about that. I don’t write prescriptions doc. Such great care and compassion shown, wouldn’t you agree? I should post the email to show the callus attitude. But what would that do?Final take-away, I’m so completely uncomfortable getting care from this veterinary practice that I have chose a different clinic for a follow-up, and to write this review. I don’t believe in writing reviews, but this experience changed that, and I have to write this one. The sad part is there was no compassion for my beloved Zoie. We’ve spent hundreds of dollars and still do not have the full plan of care in place after all of this time. They didn’t even bother to take a set of vital signs on my sick baby (blood pressure, pulse, respirations, or temperature) which should be standard practice. There is no accountability, and this is shameful!**They also used my credit card without authorization, so I would caution keeping one on file. The staff also lied to my friend who was there on my behalf for me to pick up preventative meds. Very upsetting. BEWARE: I’ve since learned they hold your pet captive for payment! I believe it! So many final straws here.Perhaps they are so busy they cannot provide safe, effective, and efficient care. Save and protect your sweet pet, and move past this complete whirlwind of a catastrophe waiting to happen!Midland, Retired RN of 28 years, Maureen Schmidt, and Zoie pictured below from July 2024. 🙏🏻🐕🦺🙏🏻
July 25 · MaureenI can’t say enough good things about Midland Animal Clinic! When my cat had a serious emergency after ingesting lily pollen, the staff was quick to help and incredibly compassionate. Even though I was out of town, they kept me updated and made sure he got the best care possible. Everyone I spoke to was kind, knowledgeable, and truly cared about his well-being. I’m so thankful for everything they did!☺️
May 08 · laughterwithLiv01The amount of care and compassion the staff shows to our extended family, warms my heart. My fur babies are thriving and in great care.
April 24 · Janice Michelle RuhligI had a fantastic experience at Midland Animal Clinic! The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. They got us in quickly. The doctor took her time during the exam and meeting with me and answering my questions. The office itself was spotless and well-maintained, reflecting their commitment to providing a positive environment for both pets and their owners. Overall, I highly recommend Midland Animal Clinic for anyone looking for compassionate and efficient veterinary care!
