Mill Creek Animal Hospital operates as a primary care veterinary clinic, meaning they offer a range of essential services for the general health and well-being of companion animals. While a comprehensive list of all their services is not explicitly detailed in the provided information, a standard primary care animal hospital typically offers:
Routine Wellness Examinations: Regular check-ups are fundamental for preventative health. These exams help detect potential issues early, allowing for timely intervention and better outcomes. They generally include a full physical assessment, discussion of lifestyle, and tailored recommendations.
Vaccinations: Providing crucial protection against common and dangerous pet diseases, customized vaccination schedules ensure your pet is safeguarded according to their age, species, and risk factors.
Parasite Prevention and Control: Comprehensive strategies to prevent and treat internal and external parasites (fleas, ticks, heartworms, intestinal worms) are vital for both your pet's health and your family's safety.
Diagnostic Services: To accurately diagnose illness, clinics typically offer in-house laboratory testing (blood work, urinalysis, fecal exams), and often imaging services like X-rays (radiography).
General Surgery: The provided information explicitly states that Mill Creek Animal Hospital "Performs surgical procedures. Call to confirm eligible surgeries." This indicates they handle common surgical needs, which typically include spaying, neutering, mass removals, and minor soft tissue surgeries. Patient safety, anesthesia monitoring, and pain management are crucial during these procedures.
Dental Care: Professional dental cleanings, extractions, and other oral health treatments are often available to prevent painful dental disease and maintain overall health.
Nutritional Counseling: Guidance on appropriate diets for your pet's age, breed, and health condition to promote optimal weight and well-being.
Microchipping: A simple, effective way to permanently identify your pet, significantly increasing the chances of reunification if they ever become lost.
Referrals: For highly specialized cases or conditions requiring advanced equipment and expertise beyond the scope of a primary care clinic, referrals to veterinary specialists are common practice.
Mill Creek Animal Hospital, and specifically Dr. Kittleberger, elicit strong opinions among their clientele. While some feedback points to challenges, there are significant highlights that stand out for many long-term clients:
Exceptional Compassion and Thoroughness (from one perspective): One client describes Dr. Kittleberger as "the most caring Vet we have ever had for any of our pets." This review highlights his patience in taking "time to explain procedures, care, etc." and his "very compassionate" nature. Another client praises him for "always been so great to our animals and will always take the time to see them no matter if it's one minute to closing time or if he's swamped with appointments." This suggests a dedication to ensuring animals receive attention.
Reasonable and Transparent Fees: A consistently praised feature is the "very reasonable" fees and the fact that the clinic is "not excessive in treatment of your pet, avoiding unnecessary money spent." This commitment to affordability and avoiding unnecessary procedures is highly valued by pet owners in the community, with one stating, "Prices are very reasonable, and they don't push anything unnecessary like many other vets I've taken my pets to."
Life-Saving Care: One review explicitly states, "Dr. K saved my dogs life, and I will be grateful for it, until the day I die." Such a powerful testimonial underscores the impact of their medical expertise in critical situations.
Knowledge and Experience: Clients commend Dr. Kittleberger's "knowledge and experience," affirming his capability to handle diverse veterinary needs effectively.
Dedicated and Supportive Staff: Beyond the veterinarian, "Kristin is very caring and understanding! She does her very best to help manage any situation and helps keep the office running smoothly!" Other reviews mention "Clean office, pleasant staff," indicating a generally positive environment.
Client Loyalty: Several clients mention traveling significant distances ("over an hour," "an hour and a half away") or having been with the facility for "years," demonstrating strong client loyalty built on trust and satisfaction.
It is important to acknowledge that there is also a contrasting review regarding a negative phone interaction, describing the experience as "one of the RUDEST people I've ever spoke to in my life!"
