New England Veterinary Clinic & Pet Resort Reviews
My Dog had her spay and umbilical hernia repair surgery on Monday, and I couldn’t be more pleased with our experience here. They accept the Friends of Animals certificate, which was a huge help with the cost of the surgery. All the front desk staff were very kind and reassuring that my baby would be fine and was in good hands. The doctor also called me to let me know she was awake and did great! Her incision looks amazing, and she has bounced back to her normal playful self within two days. I would recommend anyone to this vet also I will be transferring my dog's care to this vets
Jun 26, 2025 · Jamie-LeeI’ve been bringing my pets here for over ten years. Recently, my senior cat’s health took a turn for the worse over the course of a single day, which completely blindsided all of us. I called NE Vet Clinic about 90 minutes before closing and the receptionist was incredibly caring and understanding. They booked an appointment within 40 minutes of my phone call and saw her immediately. The veterinarian was professional, gentle, kind, informative, communicative, and incredibly supportive as I made the tough decision to end my cat’s life in a humane way. She talked me through the process every step of the way and gave me and my family plenty of time and space to process everything. I never felt rushed, and was allowed to grieve as long as necessary when the euthanasia was complete. As horrible as it is to have to put a pet to sleep, I could not have anticipated a more supportive, gentle experience.I returned a week later to collect Juliet’s ashes and the staff was every bit as supportive and compassionate then as well.I do feel as though this location is more expensive than some other vets in the area, but it’s worth it for the level of professionalism and service they provide.
Apr 30, 2025 · Michael DeFioreI've been going here for about 7 years with different pets as the location is very convenient. I haven't had any real issues with care or service, my experiences ranging from fine to great, but it seems like it's always booked up lately. That's fine for routine appointments but if you need anything same day don't count on it, even if you call early in the morning-- i know theyre not really an urgent clinic but it is really inconvenient for things you can't plan around like illness or mild injuries, which makes how close it is to my residence moot. Ive had to visit other vets more often, and honestly other places have had more convenient appointment booking methods, friendlier staff and more transparent handling of your pet and billing (but also higher prices). That said, NE is still perfectly fine if you can get in, Id just recommend having a back up vet or two just in case.
Mar 22, 2025 · A FrohLilly was awesome at the front desk, patiently answered my many questions at our first visit. Dr. Lemire called to change an appointment for LucyLu because she would be on vacation during the originally scheduled appointment! She wanted to be there when Lucy came in. I really appreciated that.
Jun 27, 2025 · Joyce SilvanoI cannot recommend this clinic and advise you to seek care for your pets elsewhere. I have been bringing my pets to this clinic since 2015 (apart from a couple years when I lived out of state before returning). This clinic has cared for multiple animals of mine, and treated a wide variety of health conditions and concerns. Based on this, I have been able to see clearly how the quality of their care has declined considerably over the past decade. When I first started bringing my cats here the medical staff really went above and beyond, suggesting a variety of options and alternative therapies for the issues that came up. They seemed attentive, interested, and committed to coming up with the best possible treatment plan. Now is unfortunately a very different story. The staff are very warm and friendly and clearly love the animals they treat, but the care feels very shallow and there seems to be little interest in exploring the problem from all angles. Apart from the care, I have recently found it very difficult to get ahold of anyone by phone, and in the past month have called and been automatically placed on hold for 20+ minutes, during business hours, without even speaking to a human. This is unacceptable for a medical establishment.I recently brought in my current cat with a minor problem and suggested what I thought the issue might be; the tech we saw gave the vet incorrect information from what I had explicitly stated, the vet asked me no (or few) questions about what we were experiencing, and essentially took my uneducated guess at face value without interrogating any other possible causes. When my cat's issue resolved itself at home it turned out to have been caused by something completely different from what I'd thought, and I'm very uncomfortable that this possibility was not considered during our visit. This was only the last in a series of experiences that have led me to the decision to transfer our veterinary care to a different clinic. (And what happened when I arrived at the new vet for our introductory visit? New England had failed to send over my cat's medical records, despite my having called over a week prior and being told they would be sent immediately. And our new vet had to call them multiple times during our visit, first for the records and then for information that had been left out. Get it together, guys.)
