North Shore Animal Hospital Reviews
I’m not sure why there have been some reviews with less than 5 stars lately, but I’ve had nothing but amazing experiences with Northshore. I have three kitties that I’ve brought here, and every visit has been great. This may be partly because of the lack of professionalism at my previous vet, but I really appreciate how we can stay in the examination room with our cats during their appointments. Everyone who works here is incredibly nice, understanding, and professional. I would highly recommend this vet to anyone! Their hours are also super convenient; they’re open every day and later than most other clinics.

Jul 02, 2025 · Dixon OrmisI learned the difference between a doctor's office and a corporate money grab. The boss here is not the veterinarian but "corporate". Over a dispute about heartworm med dosage I asked to speak to the boss. The woman who came out looked like a vet but I learned later she was the office manager. Jennifer I think. I even made an appointment with the doctor but, on her own time, she cancelled it with him and told me never to come back. I didn't do anything but challenged her decision as she is not a doctor. I didn't curse, I didn't yell but it's the usual thing when an insecure female boss is challenged by another woman. She twisted my words and made me appear that I wasn't going to feed my dog in my records. I'll get a screenshot next time I'm at my doctor and post what she wrote. Also on the same day, they overcharged me. If I hadn't caught it no one would have done anything; Put my dog's halter on backwards so he was being walked with the leash clipped by his stomach. I bought other meds, got home, and realized they were open and doses were missing. The quality of this place went down fast.My dog was 4 ounces over 25 pounds and she was bullying me to buy the higher 25 to 55 pound doses. During the argument (which was probably comedy if you were listening) I said " Give me the lower dosage because if he takes a dump and misses dinner, there's your 4 ounces". She said "oh you're gonna starve your dog?" I was thinking "is that what you heard?". so I sarcastically said "Yea right! I'm gonna starve my dog" with the requisite eye roll. .She knew very well I was being sarcastic but she ran with it. Noone yelled, noone cursed but this fragile ego didn't know how to handle a customer without being a bully. My way or the highway type. But even so. SHE IS NOT A DOCTOR.I'm back at my original doctor who was his doctor from puppyhood. The only reason I left was because I thought boarding and vet in one place was good idea. He heard me, answered my questions, gave me the dosage I asked for but explained WITHOUT BEING A BULLY that the higher dosage would not hurt my dog, but 4 oz is too little to quibble about. He saw the notes and said it was unfortunate that it ended up like this, when it didn't have to. That's what the difference is between a private practice and corporate dictatorship. A listening ear, the personal touch. And someone should look into why the office manager didn't introduce herself because I thought she was one of the vets since she was writing prescriptions. And "owner" who responds to these posts, please pass me by. You might even be that manager and now I don't wanna hear it, like you didn't hear me.Please know the kind of office you are in. Ask. Take your animals to a private practice. Talk to the doctor. Get prescriptions from a doctor. Make sure the doctor is boss, not corporate. This is by far the worst experience I've ever had with a business.I must give credit where it's due. There is one lady there at the desk, that was off that day. Laura. I remember HER more than names. She was always kind and a pleasure to talk to. I'll miss chatting with her whenever I used to bring my two little ones in for boarding. Something changed this year with this place. I didn't know the veterinarian is not the last word here. Had I known the difference I would have stayed at my first vet.
Jun 25, 2025 · Lorraine IwanI was going to make an appointment at 4pm for annual check up for my dog. However, they said the latest appointment is 330. So I made an appointment 330, but we had to wait over 30minutes, and after we came into the exam room, the vet made us wait like idiots for a while. If you have only one vet to work on Saturdays, why do you get many appointments like that? Also, the staff at the front was so rude and had bad attitude. And, if the machine is not available for hot water, why don't you put at a storage instead of putting there looks like dirty garbage. There is no one cleans it? Disgusting!Have a good day!
