North Smithfield Animal Hospital Introduce
For pet owners across Rhode Island, especially those in North Smithfield and the surrounding areas, finding a veterinary practice that provides consistent, high-quality care is crucial for the health and well-being of their animal companions. North Smithfield Animal Hospital aims to serve the local community by offering veterinary services designed to address various pet health needs.
In any community, a local animal hospital plays a vital role in providing accessible and timely care, from routine check-ups to more urgent situations. Pet owners seek a veterinary partner they can trust, one that offers not only medical expertise but also compassionate service. The bond between pets and their families is strong, and the choice of a veterinary care provider is often a very personal one, influenced by a variety of factors including convenience, range of services, and the perceived quality of care and communication.
However, it is important for prospective clients to consider all available information when choosing a veterinary provider. Feedback from some past customers for North Smithfield Animal Hospital indicates concerns regarding communication, diagnostic thoroughness, and perceived customer service. For example, one detailed review describes a highly distressing experience involving a cat named Zoey, who underwent a costly surgery for a lump. The client stated that the veterinarian they expected to perform the surgery did not, and alleged complications post-surgery, including a severe abdominal dehiscence, requiring extensive emergency care elsewhere and incurring significant additional costs. The client further claimed that the hospital refused to provide follow-up care for Zoey after they questioned the initial diagnosis and surgical outcome, leading them to believe the hospital was "at fault" and prompting consideration of legal action. This review also mentioned that the staff seemed "impatient and rude," a sentiment echoed by another first-time pup owner who described the customer service as "poor" and "overly stressed."
These specific reviews highlight potential challenges in client-veterinarian communication and service delivery. They underscore the importance of pet owners being proactive in asking questions, seeking second opinions if concerns arise, and evaluating their comfort level with a clinic's approach to care and client interaction. When selecting a veterinary service, it's beneficial for Rhode Island locals to consider not only the medical services offered but also the transparency, communication style, and responsiveness of the staff. Building a trusting relationship with your pet's healthcare provider is paramount.

North Smithfield Animal Hospital Reviews
I've used this vets for my animals for several years for different pets. I took my therapy cat name zoey to this place because she had a lump under her shoulder. The doctor said it needed to be removed. It cost over $1000.00 . They said to space her at the same time. We agree. Zoey did great after surgery. The doctor that performed the surgery was not the doctor that I thought was doing it. She came out. Really didn't even look us in the eyes. Her eyes were bloodshot red. Telling us that zoey only had 1 overie and 1 kidney. Ok no big deal. 3 weeks later. I'm rushing my cat 1 hr away to an emergency room with her stomach wide open and her guts hanging out. We got to the emergency vet room and 8 doctors said they never seen anything like this. And have never performed a surgery like this and her chance of living was 10%. . It's been another 3 weeks of hell with my cat and family. But thankfully zoey is alive and doing well. 5 days in a row I had to back to the emergency room with her. The emergency vet was amazing. They can't throw people under the bus but they do believe that this should of not happened. One of her arteries was cut to deep. One of her instestins was cut when they performed the surgery. All her organs had to be put back in place. This was GODS will and the surgens who saved her life no thanks to this place. I was not going to blame this vet for what happened, not to mention this cost my family over 12,000.00 and had to be paid on full. Not including losing work. I wanted to take zoey back her for follow ups and they said they won't take her no more and told me to find another vet. Unbelievable. Now I know they are at fault. Calling a lawyer. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE IF YOU TRULY LOVE YOUR PET!
Apr 19, 2025 · Kelly DurandFirst, I want to say I have never taken the time to write a bad review ever but with that said I have never dealt with more impatient and rude customer service in my life.Everyone seems overly stressed, not willing to be patient and answer simple questions.I’m a first time pup owner and called twice this month to make and I’ve never been treated so poorly. When I asked a family member who takes their dog here if they are normally like that, she said yes! The staff are so rude and impatient!!!!
Apr 07, 2025 · 2020daniellaI have always respected the Drs at NSAH. The front desk, aka Kim, is so friendly, keeps a smile on her face as she zooms around answering calls, checking clients out and in..., answering questions. Making sure everything runs smoothly.
Apr 11, 2025 · Caroline AngellAbsolutely amazing staff! The Dr was so friendly, and helpful. You can tell that they genuinely care about your pets. The office is spacious, bright, clean and inviting. I'm actually sad that we moved and have to find a different vet. I would recommend this place to anyone who's looking for a thorough, caring vet office. I really miss them
