They also provide shockwave therapy and cold laser therapy for pain management and recovery.
Emergency and Critical Care: During regular business hours, the clinic is prepared to handle small and large animal emergencies. They triage cases to prioritize the most urgent needs, and for after-hours small animal emergencies, they can transfer a pet to a local emergency clinic in Bettendorf, IA. For established equine clients, they offer an on-call veterinarian for after-hours emergencies.
Additional Services: For client convenience, they have a pet food section, an in-house pharmacy, and an online pharmacy for prescription refills. They also assist with health certificates, pet insurance questions, and offer dog sitting services for short-term needs.

November 23 · Denise MuseI will sing it from the rooftops, and have, -- I'm so grateful I found Dr. Miller and Oakwood Veterinary Service. My dog was diagnosed with cancer by two different vets, the first of which wanted to charge me $600 for an ultrasound without even mentioning that it might be something else. I took my dog to Oakwood just to establish care after having felt something was amiss with the other two vets, but still resigned to the fact that my dog was dying of cancer. As soon as Dr. Miller saw me, she said, "This doesn't look like cancer, this looks like blasto," a fungal infection endemic to the Mississippi Riverbed. I had never even HEARD of blasto. A few days later the test results came back and indeed -- my dog had blasto and we had a correct diagnosis and a path forward at a fraction of the price of the other vets. It's still going to be a long road of recovery, but I trust Dr. Miller and the technicians and staff at Oakwood already more than I have any other vet I've visited. I'm so grateful I finally found the care my dog deserves.Update:Two years later and my dog is alive, well, and frisky as ever. Every time I go to Oakwood, I am flooded with gratitude because I would have lost my girl if I hadn't found them. Blasto is not easy to treat. It's been *touch wood* over a year with no recurrence since Dr. Miller took her off the meds. I don't know if the blasto will ever come back, but I know Dr. Miller will always do what's right (including consulting outside specialists to ensure my dog is getting the best care possible). And an additional story..., in this time I also had a stray cat seek shelter in my garage. By the time she asked for my help and made me aware of her, she was already very sick. I took her to Oakwood and over three grueling days driving her between Oakwood and the emergency vet, we finally lost her, though she had loving hands all around her when she passed. The Oakwood staff was so compassionate and loving through the whole process. A few weeks later I opened my mail to get a letter from a local animal research society that a donation had been made in my cat's name -- Miyagi. My eyes filled with tears. This is truly a gem of a place.
