Paris Veterinary Clinic, PLC Reviews
I wish I could leave a 6 star rating! Being a vet requires not only a massive knowledge of animals but also patience and care for their owners. Christine, Liz, and the rest of the staff here are wonderful, loving people who always put in the extra work to make sure we leave with answers and a plan in maintaining our two old dogs. Highly recommend!
Apr 05, 2025 · Nick LloydWhen my sweet girl was injured from a fall, Paris Veterinary Clinic was the only one able to get her X-ray the same day. She was comforted during her visit, and I was well informed of her treatment requirements and associated costs. Due to the holiday weekend surgery would be delayed, so she was splinted and released with medication to manage pain and inflammation until her procedure would be performed.
Aug 31, 2024 · Melissa CamachoIn short, Dr. Akers is a joke. I have worked in the animal welfare field for over 10 years and never have I received such poor service from a Veterinary professional. One of our two cats has had an ongoing issue for over two years. We have taken her multiple times to various vet offices over that time period and have found ways to ease and subside the issue she is having but have not been able to resolve it. I took the time to forward the medical history from the various vets to Paris Vet Clinic so that Dr. Akers could see what has already been done to try and help our cat. She completely disregarded all of this information and then proceeded to talk over my wife and myself anytime we tried to explain anything to her. She was convinced that our cat’s issue is derived from stress caused by our 1 year old. If she would have listened to us she would have heard us say multiple times that these issues have been occurring since before our child was even born but she was too busy disregarding our opinion and thinking about the large bill she was going to cash in on us. She also brought up multiple times that we should have our cat on a special diet. My wife and myself both tried to explain that we have had her on every gastro food under the sun and none have resolved the issue but again she ignored us. We have tried multiple expensive diets ranging from purina hydrolyzed to various expensive wet foods designed to help with gastrointestinal problems from various manufacturers such as royal canine and science diet. She tried to sell my wife on another expensive gastrointestinal food and my wife resisted. My wife then heard her speaking to her staff after she closed the door saying that if we loved our cat we would spend the money to put her on a special diet. Dr. Akers I have spent a lot of money on a cat that we love very much and I think the $425 dollars I spent at your office that day can attest to that. $425 for some blood work, an x-ray and a anti hairball paste that you insisted that we have that both of our cats absolutely hate. Then another $50 for a steroid from a special pharmacist in Lexington that suspends the medication in a special fish paste. All of this and our cat is no better off than before we visited Paris Vet Clinic. Needless to say I will never use Dr. Akers services again, nor will I ever recommend her to anyone.
Mar 21, 2025 · Kevin StanfieldHad a wormy barn cat and they were able to do same day treatment and checkup. Nacho is feeling much better 🥰
Feb 14, 2025 · Doug PritchardWe make the drive from South Lexington because of the personalized care Dr. Akers and staff are able to provide to our dog and cat. Would recommend especially if you would rather go to a smaller clinic with a family like atmosphere.
