★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This review is for the large animal hospital at Purdue. I have taken multiple animals to Purdue Large Animal Hospital over the years, including several for necropsies, but unfortunately, I have never received a definitive diagnosis in any case. Just thousands of dollars spent, and no definitive answers supported by clear, verifiable evidence.
August 13 · R GWe took our pet pygmy goat here after an accident that occurred on a Sunday (they are open 24/7). He had been hit by my stepdaughter backing out in the driveway. Dr Haig and her team came out the back door, covid masks on (under covid rules, you can't go inside), and looking like a full MASH unit (at least six vet people met me in the parking lot)! Ollie proceeded to get outstanding care for the next two days and he is now back on his feet. The bill ($450) was still reasonable considering the time and date of the emergency. Highly recommended and thanks to Dr Haig and her team of outstanding, caring professionals!
March 17 · Dave PhilpottIncredibly rude and cold customer service. My horse was in critical condition and it took hours and hours before I could get a hold of anyone. When being made aware of any problems they will always tell you “they’re Purdue students and don’t know better” but still think it’s okay to charge outrageous prices. My friend’s horse was a patient and they left their halter on so tight it left a sore on his face and they again said “oh they’re just students”. As a Purdue grad, I will never bring ANY animal to Purdue ever again.
February 07 · Alex WaltherI am so grateful to the staff here and appreciate all their kindness and dedicated efforts on June 23, 2020 when my potbelly pig, Lucy Amber-Louise, fell seriously ill and they did everything they could to save her life. Unfortunately it was too late and Lucy passed the next day, but they were so gracious in doing everything they could. Lucy developed fungal meningitis. After her death, the staff were wonderful and cremated her for me and along with her ashes were so kind to send me a special gift with her hoof prints that I will treasure forever, along with a sympathy card with each staff member writing a special message. The vet on call notified me almost every hour to keep me updated on Lucy's diagnosis and I am eternally grateful for the love she showed towards Lucy and for allowing me to say my goodbye's. I would recommend Purdue's Large Animal Hospital and their 24 hour service to anyone and have to many group members of some of the pig groups I belong to on Facebook. If they remember me or my dear Lucy while reading this, I appreciate you all and will now consider you family. Thanks again.
January 10 · Crink SkullGood service at OK prices, but lacks parking for long rigs and lacks stalls for a large number of horses.
