★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We had to say goodbye to our pup today. I’m really glad we chose to come here. It didn’t feel like your standard medical atmosphere, it was very homey. The entire staff was very sympathetic and genuine. I’m so glad we got Dr. Stofer. For such a horrible day, I wouldn’t change a thing. Thank you.
November 25 · Mark KI've been taking my girl, Nellie, here since she was a puppy and I've always been happy! Trustworthy, knowledgeable, and caring people here. Nellie just had an allergies flare-up that I've never seen, and they were able to immediately schedule us in for a visit! Definitely recommend. It's a good feeling knowing you're taking your pet some where, where people really care about what they're doing! Thank you!
August 20 · Wendi Stone02/25/22 I could not be more thankful for having found this veterinary practice. The people here made one of the very worst times of my life more bearable/navigable. My BELOVED Matilda became ill with liver cancer, and thanks to Dr. Stone's knowledgeable and kind care, my girl was able to live a bit longer than she might have, and I was able to have that much more precious time with her. It meant everything. Not only was I able to give her every last sniff of grass that I could, but I was given time to slowly grasp and accept the truth - that she was leaving me and on her way to the Rainbow Bridge... And then the day came...We could not have asked for a better outcome to a more heartbreaking day. She had been really sick the night before, and I knew the time had come. I would never want my baby to suffer - and gratefully, she didn't. I called Hampshire Animal Hospital, and they scheduled what's called a quality of life assessment appointment with Dr. Stover - who, by the way, like everyone there, was wonderful. Once there, Gwen took us into a bright little room and gave my baby some treats. Shortly after, we and Dr. Stover discussed the unthinkable... the unavoidable. It was time. The nice vet techs brought in soft blankets and laid them on the floor. We laid her down and loved and loved on her. And she was NOT nervous or afraid. They allowed us as much time as we needed to love and say goodbye. And when WE let them know it was time - there was NO rushing - my angel was given the medication that allowed her to slip ever so peacefully from this life, to the next. It was the worst day of my life, but it was peaceful. My girl was at rest.I cried and I cried and and as long as I took with her, I took. And then we said our final goodbye and left.I had asked God to help me with it. To make it be as 'good' as it could be. And in sending me to Hampshire, he did. And I was, and I am, so grateful.A week or so later, I received ink prints of my Matilda's nose and paws, free of charge. And later, I received a lovely and very thoughtful condolence card that included a copy of the Rainbow poem. Both of our very busy doctors had each taken the time to write a sweet and sympathetic sentiment about our dear Matilda inside. Some time later, I went to receive her ashes. I am sure that the urn inside is beautiful, but I have yet to open the box. I just can't do it yet.Anyway, I have taken the time to write this so that others may know that Hampshire Animal Hospital and Gilberts Animal Clinic are a veterinary practice that will truly help you and your beloved animal both before and in your darkest hours. We give our deepest thanks to everyone there.
June 26 · Mrs. MagooI'm glad so many people are happy with your animal hospital, and I'm sorry you feel this two-star rating is undeserved. Even if this isn't the name in your system, I can assure you I do not make up unfavorable reviews for fun.I have no interest in calling, but if you would like an explanation, I brought in a pet in distress and the vet dismissed me as overreacting to the symptoms. After seeing no improvement, I brought the pet in a second time and was once again nearly dismissed by a second vet, but when I insisted, in-office tests were run and it became apparent euthanization was the kindest option for the animal.I am always going to feel guilty not knowing if the animal suffered between those first and second appointments.I gave two stars because the office staff did get me in right away both times when they realized how concerned I was.
March 03 · Ana GignoskoI would never recommend this vet over $700 in bloodwork for a cat who has a head cold. I had to call them three times to get the results from those tests today I call them back and explain her head is huge and they say there’s nothing they can do today very inexperienced and rude. This is anupdate took her to St Charles Vet. They were able to look at the bloodwork done at this vet and acknowledge she has hyperthyroidism and put her on medication and gave her antibiotics for a severe head cold. How hard would that have been for the red barn paid for the bloodwork they knew the blood results, they could have put her on medication
