I will never bring cattle back to this vet. I brought a pair in so the cow could be treated for mastitis on a Tuesday. They tell me that I can come pick them up Friday at 2pm. They put the cow in the chute one last time before the vet goes to get the calf up. Calf isn’t wanting to get up even after the vet tried suffocating him to force him to get up. Finally he picks him up and gets him on his feet and he slowly walks to the pen where things get loaded out. He is obviously not okay. The vet tells me I just need to supplement with a bottle. The calf laid down again immediately once he got in the pen. I tell the vet something is wrong and he should not come home. He says there’s no one there to watch him over the weekend. I said okay I will take them to Texas A&M. He agrees THEN that it would be a good idea to take him. I look in the pen again and see his eyes are extremely sunk in, I go in with him just to confirm what I am seeing and notify the vet(who should have seen earlier when he had his hand over his nose to get him up) and he said he is a little dehydrated so he goes in the back to find calf restart to tube him. Finally other vets come out and look at him and notice the very obvious fact that there is something very wrong. They tube the calf, get him on the trailer and I rush to texas a&m where they immediately carted him into ICU. His heart stopped beating less than five minutes later. So the calf that they were originally saying was good to go home died an hour later. He had been with them for three days. They claim he was okay until when I came to pick him up. That makes no sense with how sick and dehydrated he was. Even if he suddenly got super sick overnight on Thursday. He was still there with vets until 2pm Friday with not a single one noticing he was sick until I spoke up. We are mortified that they were going to send an extremely sick calf home. To make things even worse when I called the clinic the next day to express how unhappy I was with the state he was in when I arrived and that they were gonna send him home the lady said “oh that’s why we told you to take him to Texas A&M” I said no ma’am that is not what happened. I said I would take him before anyone even acknowledged there was a problem. I was already on the phone with Texas A&M by the time the other vets came out so that is a flat out lie from somewhere down the line. - Alyssa Koch

Robertson County Veterinary Services Introduce

Serving the heart of Central Texas, **Robertson County Veterinary Services** in Franklin is a vital **Animal Hospital** dedicated to the health and well-being of the region's diverse animal population. As a true **mixed animal practice**, this facility caters not only to beloved **Small Animals** like family dogs and cats but also provides essential services for **Large Animal** patients, including livestock and horses, that are central to the Texas farming and ranching community. The clinic prides itself on providing comprehensive **Medicine And Surgery** coupled with a deep commitment to accessibility through specialized mobile services.

Located conveniently on Highway 79, Robertson County Veterinary Services understands the unique challenges of animal ownership in a rural setting. To meet the needs of ranchers and farmers, the clinic offers robust **Ambulatory Services** and scheduled **Farm Calls**, allowing veterinarians to travel directly to the client's location for on-site care. This critical service ensures that large animals, which can be difficult to transport, receive timely and appropriate medical attention without the stress of travel. Safety and preparation are key, and clients are encouraged to have their animals secured before the vet arrives to maximize efficiency and safety during the visit.

The clinic’s medical services are supported by **In House Radiographs** and an **In-House Pharmacy**, allowing for prompt diagnosis and immediate dispensing of necessary medications. They also manage common preventative health measures such as **Heartworm Prevention** and **Flea Prevention**, tailoring plans to the specific needs of pets residing in the Texas environment. For new additions to the family, the clinic offers special **First Puppy/Kitten Visits** and **New Pet's Examination**s, recognizing the importance of establishing health baselines early in life.

Customer feedback underscores a duality in experiences, which is often reflective of a busy, mixed-animal practice serving a large rural area. Some clients praise the **"really great service,"** describing the staff as "very knowledgeable, and polite," with pets that "liked the staff too," indicating excellent care and a positive clinic experience for their pup. This shows a practice that, when operating efficiently, provides highly effective and caring attention to small animal patients. However, the nature of **Large Animal Hospital** care, especially in acute situations, can sometimes present complex logistical challenges that have led to communication concerns, underscoring the vital nature of clear communication and the recommendation to utilize specialized facilities like Texas A&M for immediate, critical, 24-hour emergencies. The clinic’s policy of providing limited **Emergency Services** until 8 PM reflects the realities of providing broad geographic coverage while maintaining the primary focus on scheduled appointments and farm calls.

Overall, Robertson County Veterinary Services serves a critical role in Robertson County by providing essential, accessible, and broad-ranging veterinary services for a diverse patient population, supported by both in-clinic capabilities and vital mobile care.
