Sacramento Valley Veterinary Services Introduce
For pet owners in California, making the decision to say goodbye to a beloved companion is one of the most heartbreaking and difficult moments of our lives. While traditional veterinary clinics provide essential care, the stress of a final car ride and an unfamiliar environment can add to the pain for both the pet and the family. Sacramento Valley Veterinary Services, a women-owned business, provides a deeply compassionate and professional alternative. They specialize in end-of-life services, offering in-home euthanasia and hospice care that allows pets to pass peacefully in the comfort and familiarity of their own home. This specialized approach ensures that the final moments are filled with love, dignity, and grace, surrounded by the people and places they cherish most.
Founded by Dr. Summers, a veterinarian with a passion for providing a better end-of-life experience for animals, Sacramento Valley Veterinary Services fills a critical need in the Sacramento community. Dr. Summers and her team, including Dr. Lennon, are dedicated to handling every step of this sensitive process with kindness, patience, and professionalism. They understand that this is not just a medical procedure but a profound moment of transition for a cherished family member. Their focus on reducing stress and anxiety for both the pet and the family is at the heart of their mobile practice. They take the time to explain everything thoroughly, from the medical process to the aftercare options, allowing families to be fully present and honor their pet's life without feeling rushed.
The service extends beyond the immediate procedure, offering comprehensive support for pet owners facing grief. This includes guidance on cremation options, and a compassionate presence that acknowledges the deep bond that is being broken. The team's genuine empathy is a recurring theme in customer reviews, where they are described as gentle and caring presences who truly understand the pain of pet loss. By providing this personalized and heartfelt service, Sacramento Valley Veterinary Services helps transform a painful moment into a peaceful and loving farewell, creating a lasting memory of comfort and care.

As a mobile veterinary service, Sacramento Valley Veterinary Services operates from a central location at 11090 Jeff Brian Ln, Wilton, CA 95693, USA. However, their primary "location" is in the homes of their clients throughout the greater Sacramento Valley region. This mobile model is a key component of their service, bringing veterinary care directly to your doorstep. This is particularly beneficial for elderly or mobility-challenged pets who find car rides or clinic visits difficult, as well as for families who wish to share their final moments with their pet in a familiar setting. The business is fully wheelchair accessible with both a wheelchair accessible entrance and a wheelchair accessible parking lot at their base location, though their services are performed in the comfort of the client's home.
Due to the specialized nature of their work, appointments are recommended to ensure that the team can provide a focused and unhurried experience for each family. The process of scheduling an appointment is designed to be as straightforward as possible, recognizing the emotional state of their clients. They can often accommodate appointments within a short timeframe, sometimes as little as 24-48 hours, which is crucial for families navigating an urgent health decline in their pet. Communication is often handled via phone or text, allowing for a quiet and private exchange of information, which is a great relief for those who may be too distraught to talk on the phone.

They were "so grateful for Dr. Summers and the compassionate care she provided," which made an "unbearable experience as peaceful as possible." The ability to provide a dignified farewell at home, in the pet's favorite spot, is a "gift" that many traditional veterinary practices cannot offer.
The genuine empathy and professionalism of the veterinarians are highlighted repeatedly in customer praise. Another review for Dr. Lennon notes how "so sweet and compassionate" she was during "the hardest time" for a family. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Saying goodbye to our sweet girl, Abby, was one of the most difficult moments of our lives, but we are so grateful for Dr. Summers and the compassionate care she provided. From the moment we reached out, she handled everything with kindness, patience, and professionalism, making an unbearable experience as peaceful as possible.Being able to say our final goodbyes at home, in Abby’s favorite spot, surrounded by love, was a gift. Dr. Summers took the time to explain everything, allowing us to be present and honor Abby’s life with dignity and grace. Her gentle approach and genuine empathy reassured us that we were giving Abby the most loving farewell possible. We cannot thank Dr. Summers enough for her support during this heartbreaking time. If you ever face the difficult decision of saying goodbye to a beloved pet, I highly recommend her services. She truly brings comfort, care, and compassion when it is needed most.Thank you, Dr. Summers and team for helping.
February 08 · Samantha EwellThank you Dr. Lennon for helping our baby go to heaven. You are so sweet and compassionate. It was the hardest time and we appreciate your care.
August 19 · Mizz CYesterday I had to say goodbye to four legged baby that I had the pleasure of being with for 13 years 2 weeks and 3 days. My friend who has blessed my family (parents, sisters and their wife and children) eitt with 10 more babies. To say my girl was loved and a valued member of our family is an understatement. The vet I go to normally is wonderful, I sing their praises, even in this post I want to thank Broadway Veterinary Clinic because when we knew this was the inevitable they recommended looking for someone to do in home euthanasia as they thought it would be best for me and my girl.I'm glad I made the decision to use Dr. Summers. I'm sure the job she's chosen to bare is tough not only because she is putting animals down but because she has to see grief stricken family. The initial texts were very to the point which made me nervous but when she got to my home she was so kind. She reassured me, which I desperately needed since my girl had been running through tricks just before. She let me give my sweet Honey girl yummy treats as she was sedating her so Honey was not anxious at all then let me hold her as she gave the injection to stop her heart. What I truly appreciated was her willingness to help me with something commemorative I wanted to do after Honeys passing but most importantly the way honey was transported down to the truck after she was gone. This was a huge fear for me. My sister had watched her animals be placed in body bags and I dressed that. Dr, Summers provided us with a stretcher that was more like a blanket with handles which I appreciated. It was more like my pup was wrapped in a blanket than some cold body bag.Dr. Summers I told you thank you for providing this service yesterday, but one thing I will remember from this experience was you complimenting Honey's size snd telling me how you tell people "Get a lab!" And if they say they want a small dog you say "Get a little lab"If you're reading this and you're faced with this terrible moment in life, my heart breaks with yours, it still won't be easy but this is a choice I will one day (hopefully many years from now) make again and I would recommend Dr. Summers.
November 15 · Sable LeeThis month we had to put our sweet 16yo baby girl to sleep. It was the worst day of my young adult daughter's life, and she was not sure whether or not she could handle being there for the euthanasia. Several companies were recommended by our vet, so we called down the list, and SVVS was the only place we called with an opening that day. The woman who answered the phone in the office was so sweet and empathetic, and Dr. Summers made the experience as painless as it could possibly be. We are so grateful that we did not feel rushed saying goodbye, and my daughter was so glad she was there until the very end.
January 19 · JenniferSaying good-bye to my sweet boy was absolutely heart wrenching, but doing it at home where he felt comfortable made it less tramatic for us both. Dr. Summers was wonderful and answered all my questionsand prepared me for what would take place as I had never had to do this before. She is a very kind, gentle soul and gave me comfort during the process. She even took the time to mail a hand written card sharing her sympathies.Thank you Dr. Summers. I truly appreciate the service you provide to help give our fur babies the most peaceful passing.I'm relieved that my boy isn't in pain anymore ❤️
