Vetco Vaccination Clinic specializes in a focused range of preventive veterinary services, making essential care accessible and affordable. Their primary offerings are designed to protect your pets from common diseases and parasites. Here’s a breakdown of the typical services provided:
- Vaccinations: This is the core service, offering a wide array of vaccinations for both dogs and cats.
- Dog Vaccinations: Includes core vaccines like DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus) and Rabies. Optional vaccines such as Bordetella and Leptospirosis are also available, often recommended based on the dog's lifestyle. Puppy packages are offered, covering multiple rounds of necessary shots.
- Cat Vaccinations: Includes core vaccines like FVRCP (Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia) and Rabies. Feline Leukemia (FeLV) vaccination is also typically offered, especially for cats with outdoor exposure. Kitten packages are available, bundling the initial series of vaccinations.
- Microchipping: A crucial service for pet safety, microchipping provides permanent identification that significantly increases the chances of reuniting with a lost pet. This service is often integrated into their preventive care offerings.
- Parasite Prevention and Testing: Vetco clinics offer testing and prescription medications for common parasites.
- Heartworm Testing and Prevention: Essential for protecting dogs and cats from heartworm disease.
- Flea and Tick Prevention: A variety of topical and oral medications are available to prevent and treat flea and tick infestations.
- Deworming: Strategic deworming treatments are provided to protect against common intestinal parasites like roundworms and hookworms.
- Basic Wellness Checks (limited scope): While not full comprehensive exams, Vetco clinics may include basic vital checks as part of their vaccination process. However, it's important to note that these are generally not in-depth examinations and are primarily focused on assessing a pet's immediate suitability for vaccination.
It is important for pet owners to understand that Vetco Vaccination Clinics do not typically provide comprehensive veterinary services such as treatment for sick pets, complex diagnostics (e.g., extensive blood panels beyond basic tests, advanced imaging), surgical procedures (including spay/neuter), or emergency care. Their model is specifically designed for routine preventive health maintenance.

- Low-Cost and Affordable Services: One of the primary advantages of Vetco is its commitment to providing essential preventive care at a more affordable price point compared to full-service veterinary hospitals. They often advertise "no exam fees" for their vaccination clinics, which can significantly reduce the overall cost of routine shots.
- Convenient Locations: Being situated within Petco stores, these clinics offer unparalleled convenience. Pet owners can easily combine their pet's vaccination needs with their regular shopping for pet supplies, making it a time-efficient option.
- Focused on Vaccinations and Parasite Prevention: The clinic's specialized focus means they are highly efficient at delivering these core preventive services. They offer a range of essential dog and cat vaccines, as well as heartworm, flea, and tick prevention.
- Accessibility for Routine Needs: For pets that are generally healthy and only require routine immunizations or parasite control, Vetco provides a quick and accessible solution. This model caters well to pet owners who need to keep their pets up-to-date on essential preventive measures without the need for a comprehensive diagnostic visit.
- Streamlined Process (intended): The clinic model is designed for a relatively quick in-and-out experience for vaccinations. While one review points to potential wait times and perceived efficiency issues, the overarching goal of these clinics is to streamline the vaccination process.
- Respectful and Loving Treatment (reported): Despite some challenges, at least one customer review indicates that their "pets always get treated with respect and love," suggesting that individual staff members strive to provide compassionate care during their interactions.
It is crucial for potential clients to understand the specific scope of services offered by Vetco Vaccination Clinics, as they are not designed to replace a comprehensive veterinary hospital for sick pets or complex medical needs. Vetco Vaccination Clinic Reviews
Vetco customer service was not very good in Petco, a disappointment! There was no one waiting to get there pet vaccinated but they said there is a 20 minute wait at the 1st station. They said to shop around the store 1st but I went to the next station & they had us review what my cat needed. Which was a dewormer & a well check. At the 3rd station, which was supposed to be the Vet. He gave her the oral dewormer with bearly touching her, my cat spit out most of it & it sprayed all over. NO well check & they gave us a paper with all these vitals that they just made up because they did not weight her to even touch her much less get vitals. They are a joke! Absolutely no good customer service, just about sales & making money.
