Salem Animal Hospital Reviews
Called in May for flea and tick medication. Tried to tell me I need to order online because they were out of stock. I don't want to pay a shipping fee hence why I call in to go pick it up. I called back today and now I need an appointment to get simple medication and was told go to the pet store to get some off brand thing. But I could have gotten it last month online? What's the point? Professionalism would have been giving me medication and setting up an appointment if they need it.Edit to add: Hospital manager called me after I emailed asking to send record to new vet, laughing and repeating that it wasn't explained properly to me earlier. Condescending explaining how prescriptions work when the staff earlier never told me about "a new medication" so I assumed it was all the same.It also doesn't help that a few years ago they gave my other dog a "physical" by looking at him from the other side of the room and said he was fine, a month later I found a tumor in his mouth and he had cancer. Would have been great for his physical if he had actually been looked over and we could have caught it early!Switching vets immediately and already have us registered elsewhere. Shouldn't have this much aggravation and back and forth for a registered patient to get some frontline.

Feb 20, 2025 · Mark CaswellSalem Animal Hospital have been a pleasant experience with both dog and our sweet Sylvester who unfortunately crossed the rainbow bridge. They have always been professional and kind and have never forced care on them. They advised us and took great care of Sylvester's complications as he approached the end which helped us to make the best decisions for him and his quality of life. We have the dogs groomed there as well and they love going. Again, a pleasant experience. Would definitely recommend them.
Mar 03, 2025 · Michelle LeiningerSalem Animal Hospital has been nothing short of wonderful to my 6 month old Rottweiler puppy, Gunner. Dr. Roberta Wilson has always been great and caring for Gunner since he was 2 months old. Today for the first time Gunner saw Dr. Shalette Dingle who was just as fantastic. The entire staff is wonderful and makes you and your pet feel comfortable and well cared for. Highly recommended and we are so happy with our choice to bring him here. Thank you Salem Animal Hospital!
Apr 10, 2025 · Lynn LittleThere is NO way Anesthesia cost close to 3k for a small cat! I was told durring a previous surgery that for 600 more they could remove the growth on my cats belly... unfortunately I didn't have the money at the time for the added procedure. As soon as I had a large chunk of money, I called and put down a deposit of 700... I knew it was gonna cost more than that. But seeing as 600 was going to cover it before, I felt confident putting the deposit down of 700 and making the appointment. I got a call today, wanting to set up a different appointment with the Dr before surgery, and they informed me it be about 3500... HOW!? So now I'm waiting for the refund, and I have to inform my son, that our can won't be getting the lump removed, after having to put his other cat down last month with bone cancer...Absolutely feel like this place doesn't care much for the animals or the people doing their best to take care of them. Shame.
