★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I love this vet!! The staff is so sweet and caring! It’s hard to find a vet who doesn’t try to have you do every test in the book! And I am so greatful for their emergency appointments! My sister who live an hour away come here because that’s how much I recommend them!! They are very knowledgeable and I trust them with my babies!
April 11 · Alaska RobertsTook care of my lab when he had an emergency. Doctors and staff know what they are doing and are extremely friendly. For an emergency the price was unbelievably cheap. Quality service for a great price. Drove from Sacramento because I was referred by a friend, 10/10 recommend over those insane over priced vet clinics.
July 07 · Row_ PatI have mainly taken my animals here on an emergency basis and they seem to be fine with emergency services (why they are getting two stars). I had to take my cat in for a regular appointment and I can confidently say I will not be bringing any of my animals back. I had to wait 30 minutes to get seen my a tech after getting in a room and almost an hour to get seen by the vet (with an appointment!). It didn't sound like there was some emergency the vet was dealing with and their lack of apologies was completely unacceptable. Especially with a scared cat I want to get in and out. They also text me before the appointment to bring in a stool sample, which turned out to be unnecessary. Lastly, I think they are ripping off their clients with overpriced services. My dog gets red laser therapy at our normal vet for $40, and Shingle Springs Veterinary Clinic quoted a customer over $100 for one of those treatments. Please shop around for your treatments and visit Sierra Animal Hospital if you want a better vet you can trust.
June 04 · Summer Von AeschThe support staff was friendly and helpful which I appreciated. I also appreciated their late availability. However I brought my dog in for a simple grass seed removal from the ear that turned into a situation it didn’t need to. It seems like it is time for Dr. Bader to retire. Also can’t get my records from this visit even though they obviously sent them to the insurance company.
May 10 · Maryann CristlerI'll be generous with 2 stars to pay some respect to having liked them years ago. My most recent experience, however, I have nothing good to say beyond they were nice and had available appointments. I told my entire story 4 separate times (from booking the appt then the receptionist, tech, and finally dr), from scratch because they apparently don't talk to one another or read notes. I had to reiterate many times that my dog was anxious and could bite and still Dr. Bader would casually reach over and pet my dog and the tech specifically asked "So you said he doesn't bite?" Nope, the opposite actually.Dr. Bader couldn't seem to get his thoughts or the appointment structure straight. He asked many questions multiple times and brought up previous statements of mine incorrectly. After coming in with concerns of lethargy and exercise intolerance, he came out of the exam saying he looks healthy but fits the age to do a geriatric exam. I agreed as I'd come wanting bloodwork done. I had to ask for a heartworm test multiple times but they were out of them (one of my top concerns), the tech seemed to keep assuming I was going to decline everything but I wanted just about all of it. In the end, when Bader finally came back with the lab results, he simply read the generated analysis, said "The bloodwork doesn't say much", gave none of his own input and brought up wanting to do x-rays (I'm convinced because he didn't have a clue where else to go and it was the only thing in the standard geriatric labs that I declined). I told him i had other tests I wanted to go through before jumping to xrays and he basically said "ok good day". I left with bloodwork in hand and absolutely nothing else. I've gotten a second opinion since then and got a resounding "This tells a lot" in that it shows anemia, most likely regenerative, but asking why wasn't a urinalysis done and that internal parasites could also be an avenue to explore (this was by a vet on her own time and her own kindness looking only at the bloodwork, not even a full scale exam like he had). So now I'm paying for another exam to get him into another vet to finish out his tests.I've called since just to ask them about bringing in a fecal sample and they couldnt even confidently answer whether they did the tests in-house.I was astounded by the lack of knowledge at this vet top to bottom and won't be returning
