South Salem Animal Hospital Introduce
For pet owners across New York, especially those in the beautiful Westchester County and Hudson Valley region, the health and happiness of our animal companions are paramount. A crucial part of this care is ensuring they have access to the right medications and nutritional products when they need them most. While many may think of a pharmacy as a place for human medicine, the South Salem Animal Hospital offers a vital veterinary pharmacy service, providing a convenient, reliable, and expertly-overseen source for all your pet’s pharmaceutical needs. Located in the picturesque town of South Salem, this facility has established itself as a cornerstone of animal health, offering not just a pharmacy but a comprehensive suite of veterinary services that prioritize compassionate and professional care.
The experience of a pet falling ill or needing ongoing medication can be stressful. The need for a trusted source for prescriptions, special diets, and parasite prevention is critical. The South Salem Animal Hospital understands this, which is why they have integrated a full-service veterinary pharmacy directly into their practice. This model ensures seamless communication between the prescribing veterinarian and the dispensing pharmacy, eliminating potential errors and providing peace of mind. For local residents, this means less time spent traveling to different locations and more time focused on their pet's recovery and well-being. Whether it’s an urgent need for an antibiotic or a routine refill for a chronic condition, the in-house pharmacy is a key component of their commitment to providing holistic and immediate care.
The value of a local and connected pharmacy cannot be overstated. Unlike external online retailers or human pharmacies that may not fully understand veterinary-specific medications, the team at South Salem Animal Hospital is equipped with intimate knowledge of your pet’s health history. They can advise on proper dosage, potential side effects, and correct administration, ensuring your pet’s safety. This personalized service is echoed in the glowing testimonials from satisfied clients. As one pet owner shared, when their 15-year-old yorkiepoo had a severe dental infection and couldn't eat or drink, other hospitals were booking weeks out, but South Salem Animal Hospital saw her "the same day!" and provided immediate, life-changing treatment. The client noted, "Everyone was kind and compassionate. Thank you South Salem Animal Hospital!! ❤️😊." This level of responsiveness and care extends to every aspect of their practice, including their pharmacy services.
The facility is situated at 1310 NY-35, South Salem, NY 10590, USA. This accessible location in Westchester County makes it a convenient option for residents across the region. Accessibility is a key feature of the hospital, as it is equipped with a wheelchair-accessible entrance, a wheelchair-accessible parking lot, and a wheelchair-accessible restroom. This thoughtful design ensures that all pet owners, regardless of their mobility, can easily access the care their pets need. To provide the best possible service and ensure each patient receives dedicated attention, the hospital recommends that clients schedule appointments in advance. This planning helps manage the flow of patients, especially during busy hours, and minimizes waiting times.
The veterinary pharmacy services at South Salem Animal Hospital are part of a much larger, comprehensive suite of offerings. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Our 15 year old yorkiepoo, Pepper, had a severe dental infection- she was unable to eat or drink. Other animal hospitals said they could see her- in a week! South Salem, however, when we called at noon, said they could see her at 3:30! We drove Pepper up, they saw her, and immediately treated her, extracting 3 teeth that prevented her from closing her jaw. She is now home recovering, drinking normally from her bowl! Everyone was kind and compassionate. Thank you South Salem Animal Hospital!! ❤️😊
July 04 · David HnathI highly recommend this facility! Very professional and caring. Took my dog who was acting sick and limping the same day and ran tests, home the same day and on the mend! Thank god I listened to my Fiancé when he said they are the best around! They followed up and sent me home with all the necessary medication and explained everything they did and how to care for her after she was home.So happy to finally find a great facility that is honest, caring and professional.
March 21 · Megan McgoeyI am so grateful that my good friend recommended South Salem Animal Hospital after my previous vet told me that they couldn’t see my distressed, elderly cat for a week. My cat was showing symptoms of a UTI and was clearly suffering and South Salem told me that I could come in that afternoon! They were so kind, caring and knowledgeable. They immediately gave my cat the antibiotics that she needed as well as fluids and did necessary testing. They even gave me food samples to try for kidney issues. I was honestly so impressed and touched. They will now be my primary vet. Thank you so much to the amazing team at South Salem Animal Hospital!
August 28 · Krissi CosioIt is always difficult to leave one’s pet in someone else’s care. I have every confidence that “Rosie” will be well cared for in my absence. That is a huge lift for which I am very grateful.
May 16 · Margaret Cangilos-RuizDO NOT BRING YOUR PET TO THIS PLACE. A woman named Katie who works in CUSTOMER SERVICE is absolutely brutal and inhumane when it comes to animals. I have never encountered such cruelty in a vet office. She is directly responsible for the suffering and death of my cat. We had an appointment for our seriously ill cat and were early and on our way and she called and asked us to come sooner. We thought "okay, we will get there nice and early anyway, we will take it." On the way there was an accident and traffic came to a standstill. I called and told her and she was fine with it. A few minutes later she called me back and asked where I was. I said "getting off the exit." She said do not come in, your appointment is canceled. I said but you said to come as soon as we got there, we are actually still early for the original appointment, he may be dying!! She just said no, I begged her to let us, she got nasty and started lecturing me!!! I again begged for help through my tears and she said no. I then asked for the nearest emergency hospital, she just said google it and hung up. We frantically found one an hour away, rushed there and that is where my cat died. Vet said he could have had a chance had this monster named Katie allowed us to come in. Sickening behavior on her part. I hope she reads this and pays dearly for her cruelty.
